06:48, 15 December 2023Jackson Wang is a dedicated police officer who carries himself with an unmistakable and formidable presence. His commitment to his duty is evident in the way he approaches his work, demonstrating a relentless pursuit of justice. The power in his aura emanates from a combination of unwavering determination, a strong sense of responsibility, and a keen understanding of the importance of maintaining law and order.
Jackson smiled at his friends. "Hey, Joon, What's up? Hey Jimin, long time no see."
But he saw Joon and Jimin's face pale. "What is it, guys?"
Joon spoke up. "Jackson, Hoseok is missing. Yoongi called, he isn't at the office. We checked his home and Jung Corportion. He is not even answering his calls."
"Ok, okay Calm down. Just give us the details, his photo, car license."
"Hoseok was driving a red Hyundai Tucson and the license number is 서울 | 차 | 5678."
"When did he leave the home?"
"Around 10. Me and Jimin left by 9 but he was late."
"Where is his office?""His office is at 4 Dawn Fraser Avenue".
"Okay, calm down. Did you get any calls?"
"No..not yet.""Hmmm..I will ask the units to canvass the area. Which route does he usually take?"
"The Olympic Park South Gate 4 Junction."
"Okay, let's check the CCTV footage. There must be something." They go to the control room and look at the monitors.
"This is the camera on the Gate 4 Junction." They checked the timeline and they could see Hoseok's car stop in front of a person. He was helping an old man and was seen driving off the route.
"Let's see where they went. This is the camera at the signal. You can see Hoseok's car here. Wa..wait, what the hell?" Jackson's eye went wide. There were 5 different cars of the same model and color driving in different routes making things more difficult for them.
"Can we zoom in Jackson?" Jackson Wang nodded, "No, the resolution is too low. And there are no cameras on the side roads. This is the last footage we have of them."
"What? How can that be? How are we supposed to find him now?"
"This is premeditated." Jackson gritted his teeth. "Don't worry, Joon. We have the car number and description. We will alert all the patrol units and set up checkpoints. We will find him okay."
"Jimin-ah, you sit here with Jackson."
"Where are you going Joon?"
"To find Hobi. I can't just sit alone and do nothing. Let me know if you find something."
"Joon, you don't have to. We have our units canvassing all the areas."
"No. I can't sit here do nothing."
"Alright, Joonie, two of our men will come with you."
"No...no..if someone is watching us, they would see me with the cops and god knows, they might harm Hoseok. Let me look alone. If I find something, I will call you." He knew he had to start somewhere.
Joon went to the signal where Hoseok's car had stopped and began enquiring in the stores on the road if they saw anything. He knew this wasn't getting anywhere but he had to try. No one knew where Hoseok was. He felt lost. Whoever kidnapped Hoseok hadn't called till now. He was running around in circles. He didn't know where to drive as the main road led to many diversions. He drove around the road for a few minutes not knowing where he was heading. As he reached, a short narrow cut road, he spotted something familiar. It was Hoseok's car or so the same model. He pulled over and ran towards it hoping that Hoseok would be there even though every fiber of his body knew otherwise. He looked within the car but found no one. He felt his hope crumble. Where are you Hobah?
Suddenly someone covered his face with a black cloth. He felt someone grab him from behind. Joon tried to kick him but the people were strong. All he could feel was a hit on his head that made him lose consciousness. He crumbled when he felt another punch in the stomach. Before he lost unconsciousness, Joon heard something vibrate. But the man took Joon's phone out of his pocket that was vibrating incessantly. "Sorry Mr. Namjoon...but not that sorry", the man thought as he placed the phone on the floor and stomped on it vigorously. They dragged the unconscious body of Joon to an unknown place.
Later that evening at the Kim Mansion:
Mr and Mrs Jung with Jin were sitting at the living room of Kim Mansion. Jimin was talking to the police on the phone. "Any updates", Hwan sprinted towards Jimin hoping for an answer.
Jimin kept his head down and gave a nod. He looked at the old man, "We will find him. Don't worry uncle. The police are all over the city. They will surely find him." He consoled the old man.
"Jimin, where is Namjoon?", Jae asked sadly.
"Shit...He told me he would go find Hobi from where they....." Jimin paused before framing the sentence. He can't say the word 'kidnap'.....yet. "before...they find Hobi. Umm, let me call him, uncle", Jimin said and called his brother. But his phone was unreachable. He tried again but the network failed. What the hell.
"Well?", Hwan asked Jimin.
"He isn't answering Uncle." Jimin said defeatedly.
Somewhere in Daegu:
The abandoned house stood as a silent witness to years of neglect, with a thick blanket of overgrown vegetation. You can see its once-grand façade all weathered and worn. Windows, long bereft of glass, stared vacantly into the gloom, and the door swung lazily on rusted hinges, groaning with the touch of the wind.
Inside, the air was heavy with the scent of dampness and decay. Shadows clung to the peeling wallpaper, bearing witness to the passage of time. The floor, scattered with debris and remnants of a forgotten life, echoed the emptiness that pervaded the forsaken dwelling.
In the dimness, the sole source of light emanated from a kerosene lamp placed on a rickety wooden table. The feeble flame flickered, casting an erratic dance of shadows across the walls. It struggled against the darkness, providing just enough illumination to reveal the haunting scene within the captive space.
"Why did you bring him? They paid us only for Hoseok guy", the man asked. His name was Bitgaram, a man with a tiny physique.
"Heyy......this is the Kim Namjoon, the top business tycoon of South Korea. We will get double or triple the amount", Bogum declared proudly.
"Are you out of your mind? You will get us killed. That was not part of the deal", Bitgaram barked.
"Hey, who is the boss here? Me...This is two birds in one stone. The Jung and the Kim...imagine the money" , Bogum yelled at Bitgaram shutting him down.
"Let. Us. Go", Joon thundered. His voice was tired but strong. His hands were tied to a chair. He tried to free himself but it was moot point. His face was still covered with black cloth. He could hear a man yell.
"Ya right. Do you think we will let go of a golden goose like you?", the man laughed.
"Who are you? What do you want from us?", Joon yelled again.
"Well, we didn't want you...we wanted Hoseok, but you fell into our trap anyway", the man smirked as he walked towards Joon and removed the black cloth of his face.
The sudden effect of light hit Joon's eyes as he squinted them to look at the kidnapper. The man was tall, probably in his 50s. He smiled mockingly as he looked at Joon. "Mr. Kim Namjoon. Let me introduce you to your husband, Mr. Jung Hoseok."
Joon's eyes darted to where Hoseok was sitting unconsciously tied to a chair. "Hoba....Hoba...wake up", Joon tried calling Hoseok trying to wake him up but the man didn't move.
"What did you do to him?"
"Oh, nothing. Just something to keep him quiet. He can't know we are here. Gotta say, Mr. Namjoon, your husband....or shall I say, your Hobaah is such a beauty, especially when he is sleeping. You don't mind if I stole some kisses, right?", Bogum licked his lips.
"Stay away from him, you fucker", Joon thundered.
"Aww come on, you get to taste him every day. Let me have today's share. After all, not every day you get to have such delicious meat."
"Stop it asshole or I swear to god...", Joon yelled.
The man chuckled nervously as he began walking towards Hoseok. But the Bitgaram stopped him. "Don't....Bogum. This was not part of the deal. Let's just get the money and...."
Joon was screaming trying to wake Hoseok who was still unconscious. "No...no.nononono...Hoseok, Hoseok.......goddamit wake up." Joon was yelling on top of the voice but in vain.
********
As Bogum inched towards Hoseok, his phone vibrated. He sighed and took out the phone. He rolled his eyes. "Yah, Bitgaram, ask him what he wants." He threw the phone to Bitgaram who caught it at the right time. "I want to taste this man first." Bogum asked Bitgaram to go out as he turned his head towards Hoseok. He inched closer and looked at the man. "Such a sleeping beauty". He slowly unbuttoned Hoseok's shirt as he inhaled the unconscious man's scent and buried his nose on Hosoek's neck. Hoseok stirred upon the touch. He was gaining consciousness. Joon looked at Hoseok and called out to him again hoping he would hear it. "Hoseok, get up. Wake up for god's sake."
Finally, Hoseok slowly opened his eyes squinting it to see who was in front of him. He was still feeling weary. It was the same man who asked him for help. "Ajussi, what are you doing?" It took him a few seconds to register what was going on. He looked down and saw his shirt unbuttoned. His eyes went wide as he tried to wrench out of the man's contact and that's when Hoseok realized his hands were tied. "No, whh...what are you doing? Let me go." He began stomping his feet trying to kick the man but he realized his legs were tied to the chair. He felt weak but was yelling when another voice overpowered it.
"Hobah". Hoseok's eyes went wide as he looked at his husband. "Joonah." Hoseok cried as he tried to get to his husband who was equally feeling helpless.
Outside the abandoned house:
"I asked you to kidnap Hoseok you dimwit, why did you kidnap Namjoon?", barked the man on the phone.
"Why sir, I thought you would be happy."
"Where is your idiot boss?"
"He...he is busy."
"Okay look...I am gonna say this once...I asked you to stick to the plan which I expected you to follow. I paid you shit to kidnap Hoseok only and not Namjoon. Release both of them right now."
"But sir..."
"The police are everywhere. It won't take much to track you guys. So, get your fucking balls out of there before you get caught. Let them go. And if you do get caught, don't rattle me out or I swear to god, I will burn you before police does." The man barked over the phone and cut the call. Bitgaram gritted his teeth. "Fuckkkkk." He ran inside the wornout place and glared at Bogum. "Sorry Mr. Namjoon, guess I have to let you guys go."
"Whatttt?" Bogum screamed who was moving his hands towards Hoseok's pants.
"That's the order we got from him. Let them go."
"But what about him? I haven't even tasted him", Bogum asked looking at Hoseok.
"He isn't worth it Bogum. The police will be here. We got our money. So, let's go before we are screwed." Bitgaram screamed as he cut Joon's rope. The moment he cut Joon loose, he pounced on Bitgaram and started punching him. Bogum ran towards Namjoon and pushed him before he held Bitgaram on his feet. Namjoon started to get up to punch Bogum but before he could do so, Bogum pulled out his gun.
"Stay where you are and nobody gets hurt." He aimed the gun at Namjoon. He looked at Bitgaram and ordered him to start the truck. Bitgaram hesitantly nodded as he walked away out of the house with Bogum stepping backward slowly his gun still aiming at Joon.
"Mr Namjoon, don't try anything sneaky. Help your husband and forget this ever happened." Bogum smirked as he walked out of the abandoned place and hopped into the truck with Bitgaram driving away.
The moment he left, Joon rushed towards Hoseok and helped him out of the ropes. "Hobah... are you okay?" Hoseok began sobbing in shock as to what would have happened if Bitgaram didn't stop Bogum. Joon looked at his husband who was shivering in fear. "Sssh....Hobah its okay. I am here. I am sorry I couldn't stop him. Hobahh....baby, look at me." Joon tried to soothe Hoseok who was whimpering in the trauma.
"Let's go Hobah." Joon helped Hoseok get on his feet but the man was too weak to stand. Joon swept Hoseok on his arms and began wandering. "It's okay Joon, I can walk." Hoseok murmured but Joon didn't put him down. They walked out of the place only to find himself in the middle of nowhere.
"Where are we?" He looked around cursing himself. It was night time and there were no lights. He looked in his pocket for his phone but no luck. He placed Hoseok near a tree and ran to the house to check for his phone. But still no luck. He sighed and ran back towards Hoseok who was trying to get back with the support of the tree. "Hobah, what are you doing?"
"Joon, I can walk. Let's just go. Please.....I don't wanna be here", Hoseok spoke in between breaths.
Joon nodded as he supported Hoseok walking into the darkness not knowing where they are. They looked around. There was nothing except few street lights on the road that kept them company. There was no one on the road.
Joon and Hoseok were walking a few minutes. After a while Hoseok stopped, "Joonah, I can't. I am so tired. I can feel my legs give away." They were tired, dirty, and sticky from the weather.
"Oh, okay. Let's wait if someone sees us, if a car or anything passes.", Joon mumbled although he too had lost hope. Soon they reached a road where there were small rowhouses were placed neatly. They saw a couple of cars drive through and tried asking for a lift. but no one stopped. "Unbelievable. Don't they know I am the Kim Namjoon? This is so freaking not fair. I was ranked the hottest businessman of South Korea, you know."
Hoseok looked at his husband, his frustration bringing the sarcastic side of him he never knew. "I am sorry. Would you like them to lay a red carpet for you?"
"What? I am just stating a fact."
"Aah yes, the Kim Namjoon. The business tycoon. The dashing debonair. The hottest businessman who can't COOK A FREAKING RICE AND ALMOST BURNT DOWN MY KITCHEN."
"Hobi, calm down. Why are you yelling?"
"COZ I AM TIRED...I AM TIRED OF WALKING. I HATE THE FACT THAT I WAS KIDNAPPED. I FEEL STICKY. I WANNA EAT, I WANNA SLEEP. BUT NO...ITS ALL ABOUT KIM FREAKING NAMJOON. Lay the freaking carpet for Namjoon. Lay out a whole meal platter for Namjoon. Let the whole band of Bangtan Boys sing Happy Birthday for the big guy."
Namjoon stood his mouth ajar as if seen the devil. With caution, he took a step back from Hoseok, who exuded a menacing aura, seemingly prepared to unleash havoc. However, the subsequent actions caught Namjoon off guard. Hoseok, who appeared lethal just moments ago, suddenly enveloped the big man in a tight hug, resting his head on Namjoon's chest. "I'm sorry, Joon. I'm so... I don't know... I just," Hoseok began to wail loudly.
The voice melted Joon's chest. He gently patted the slender man's back. "Its okay Hobah. I am sorry."
"No. No... I am sorry, I wasn't thinking. I didn't mean to yell at you. Its not your fault. Its mine. I put your life in danger too. I feel so helpless. I am such a waste. I am grateful you came looking for me. But why does this happen to me? Why does it happen to the people I love? Everyone around me gets hurt." Hoseok slumped down and began sobbing loudly.
Namjoon settled beside his husband, gently wiping away the tears that streaked down Hoseok's face. "Hobah, it's alright... It's okay to feel all those emotions. You're not a burden; you're precious. You don't need to feel grateful for me. As your husband, it's my responsibility to keep you safe, and I feel like I failed in that. I should be the one apologizing to you."
Namjoon gazed at Hoseok, securing his husband's hands within his own. "And Hobah, don't let anyone make you believe you are inferior. You sir....are the most amazing, pure, selfless soul I've ever met." Joon took a deep breath. "We are human Hobi, filled with emotions...good, bad, and ugly. We are not perfect Hobah; we are people with flaws and you know its these flaws that makes us real and original."
Hoseok sniffled as he wiped his nose in his sleeve. "Thank you."
Namjoon let go of Hoseok's hands and nudged his husband gently. "You know...honestly, I love how bold and fearless you are becoming with me. I used to think you kept everything to yourself, not sharing your true feelings with me. In a way I felt I forced myself on your life...but now...the way you laugh, the way your lips form a little heart when you smile, and even your psychotic obsession with cleanliness – I love it all. I love how you openly express what you feel. It makes me feel like I'm getting to know you more every day. It's like unwrapping a Christmas gift every single day."
Namjoon smiled as Hoseok nodded and leaned closely placing his head on Namjoon's shoulder. Joon could feel Hoseok blushing hard. He hugged Hoseok and gently rocked him side to side as they looked up the stars.
"You know Hobah..."
"What?"
"We need to thank the goons."
"Wh...what? Why?"
"Well...if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be here watching the stars with you. I know it sounds silly but this feels comfortable."
"Sitting on concrete road in the middle of nowhere feels comfortable?"
"No...sitting with you in the middle of nowhere feels comfortable" Namjoon bent near Hoseok and whispered, making Hoseok's body tingle as he continued, "and if I had to do it a thousand times, I would happily sit anywhere as long as it is with you." He gave a small peck on Hoseok's lips that earned him a gentle punch.
Hoseok didn't say anything as they sat in silence. This silence...for them it felt comfortable....it felt like home...it felt peaceful.
"What's the time now?"
Joon looked at his watch. "10.15". Hoseok nodded as they sat there for a few minutes until a car parked a few steps in front of them. Someone tapped Joon's back who were lost in thoughts looking at the sky and the stars.
"Excuse me sons, why are you sitting here?"
Joon looked at the woman and bowed respectfully. She must be in her 50s. "Ajjumma...I am Namjoon, this is my husband, Hoseok. Please help us. We...we got lost...Can you tell us where are we?"
"You are in Daegu. I have my home nearby. I was driving back to home when I saw you both sitting here looking lost."
"Ajjumma, can you lend us your car? We need to go to Seoul", Joon said pleadingly.
"Sure, but first, have some food. You look like you need it and get some sleep. He sure needs it." The woman pointed at Hoseok who was yawning profusely and was on the verge of sleeping any second. Joon thanked as the old woman ushered the couple to her car.
