Third Person's POV

"I came to see Hyungwon" Valarie said.

"He's in his room. At this time of day, I think he is still sleeping" Mrs. Chae said, as her fingers run along the piano keys.

"May I go see him?" She asked.

"Of course, dear" She replied briefly, her eyes glued on the keys.

"It's lovely" She complimented Mrs. Chae, making her to look up at her, questioningly.

"What is?" Mrs. Chae asked.

"Your piece" Valarie stated, looking at the piano notes.

"Oh. Thank you" Mrs. Chae gave her a smile. Valarie watched as Mrs. Chae went back to playing, before she left the living room, heading towards Hyungwon's room. She softly knocked on his door, before she entered his room. She could instantly see his bare back on the bed, still sleeping. She slowly walked over to him, wanting to wake him up. She froze in her spot, seeing that Hyungwon wasn't alone. Her eyes stared at the sleeping figure next to him, who was also bare. Hera, his slave. She slowly back away from there, and head back out of his room.

"Is he not awake yet?" Mrs. Chae asked, as Valarie came back into the living room.

"Uh... no"

"Hmm. Well, he is like that. It's hard to wake him up. Usually, only Hera can wake him up" Mrs. Chae stated.

"Hera?" Valarie asked.

"That's his slave, dear" Mrs. Chae looked at her through the side of her eyes, seeing Valarie's expression that was looking faraway.

"Valarie" Mrs. Chae called, as expected, Valarie was in a daze. Valarie's mind kept flashing back towards Hyungwon and his slave. She even remembered that time when she followed him to their private summer house. She saw them together.

"Valarie" Mrs. Chae called once again, before she got up and walked towards Valarie.

"Why are you so pale, dear? Are you not feeling well?" Valarie was snapped out of her thoughts, when she felt someone gripping her chin and making her face them.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I think I'll take my leave. I'll just call him later" She instantly went to head out of there. Mrs. Chae looked at her that exited through the front door, before she went towards her son's room. She opened the door and slowly walk closer. She scoffed, seeing Hera and Hyungwon together. She exited the room.

"No wonder she looks scared" Mrs. Chae stated.

"Why do you look like your husband just died?" Rae asked her.

"Huh? What?" Valarie asked her.

"Are you okay?" Rae asked, gripping onto her hand.

"Yeah. I'm fine" Val pulled back her hand.

"You know, if there's anything, you can talk to me" Rae said, cupping her face.

"I know" Valarie replied, smiling at her.

"You know what, I really... care about you" Rae wrapped an arm around Valarie.

"And I care about you too" Valarie said.

"Can I ask for a favour from you?" Rae asked.

"Sure. What is it?" Valarie asked.

"Mr. Hansen, it's nice to meet you" Valarie greeted him.

"Yes. It's nice to meet you too" Mr. Hansen replied.

"Juliette, come and invite your friend in" Mr. Hansen said to Rae.

"Yes, of course. Come on" Rae grabbed Valarie's hand and led her inside.

"Where's mom?" Rae asked her father.

"She's still at the hospital. She's working on her last patient. She'll be back in another hour, with your sister" Mr. Hansen replied, taking a seat on the couch.

"Juliette, tell me truthfully. Is she your friend, or is she your...?" Her father raised an eyebrow at her.

"No. I'm not a lesbian. She's just my model"

"Okay. If you say so"

"Hey, freak" Valarie heard a male voice coming from behind, before she heard Rae grunting in pain.

"Shut up! You jerk!"

"Robin. Please" Mr. Hansen gave a look to his eldest son.

"And who is this?" Robin hold out his hand towards Valarie.

"I'm Val" Valarie introduced herself.

"Robin" Robin shake her hand.

"So, what are you doing now?" Robin asked Rae, taking a seat.

"Uhm... Art?" Rae replied.

"Art. Hmm" Robin made a 'meh' face, shrugging at the thought.

"That's child play" Robin stated. Rae glared at her brother. Art is child's play?! How dare he?!

"Art is not child's play. Even science is art. Medical is also art!" Rae said through gritted teeth.

"No. Medical is science. And science is theories, formulas, experiments, practicals and systems" Her brother protested. Rae rolled her eyes at that.

"Juliette. Stop it" Her father said, eyes narrowed on her.

"Tell us more about your friend" Mr. Hansen said, turning to look at Valarie.

"Yeah, something more interesting" Robin said, adding oil to the fire. Rae controlled her anger, before turning to look at Valarie.

"Well, Valarie is currently not working. And I'm using her as my model for my artwork"

"Oh. What are your future plans?" Robin asked.

"I have no plans yet"

"What did you study?" Mr. Hansen asked.

"Well, I didn't continue my studies yet after I finish my homeschooling"

"Homeschooled? You were homeschooled? Your family must be rich"

"Uh... not anymore" Valarie replied, then suddenly there was an awkward silence.

Valarie slowly chewed on the food, feeling awkward. They were currently eating dinner, her, Rae and Rae's family. Clearly, she could see why Rae doesn't like her family. They were judgemental, uptight and they were all doctors. Rae's siblings seems to not like her as well. Her parents seem disappointed in her choice of lifestyle.

"What are you doing now, Juliette? Anything big going on?" Her mother asked.

"No. I'm doing small jobs like taking pictures and painting for people" Rae replied.

"How much do you earn from that?" Her father asked. Valarie squirmed in her seat. How can Rae keep calm at her parents' questions? They look like they're interrogating her.

"I earn enough" Rae said.

"Juliette. Do you not want to be in the medical field? Like your brothers and your sister?" Her mother asked.

"Why? Do you love me less just because I'm different?" Rae asked, her eyes shooting daggers to her parents. Her siblings look at her.

"Juliette, stop it" Her older sister, Janette, warned.

"This is why I don't want to come home! All you guys ever do is judge me for who I want to be and what I am passionate about!" Rae bursted, putting down her silverware and getting up from the chair.

"We're leaving, Val" Rae said.

"It was nice meeting you, Val" Her mother greeted her, but Rae's other family members were silent.

"It was nice meeting all of you" Val greeted them, before going after Rae.

"They're stupid, okay? They're so damn smart, it's stupid!" Val kept silent, listening to her friend's ranting.

"They have no colours in they're life! They're boring! And when they look at the world, they don't see the beauty of it, they only try to fix the flaws of the world. People like that are only parasites of this world!"

"Rae, calm down. I know you're mad. But can you please... slow down?" Valarie asked, feeling scared at how fast Rae was going.

"Doctors! They are only trained to be heartless!"

"Why can't your family just accept you the way you are?"

"Val, they look at me as a disappointment. My family has only been doctors for generations. I am the only one that decided to pursue art. I had a choice to take medical, but... I know I am not passionate about that"

"Being a doctor is an honorable thing, saving people's lives and whatever. But I actually dislike doctors, because of my family"

"Rae. Calm down" Valarie said, with a calm tone, putting a hand on Rae's shoulder.

"You're right, I shouldn't be affected. I don't need them in my life anyways" Rae took a deep breather and slowed down.

"So, you're meeting up with Hyungwon later?" Rae asked, changing the subject. Rae glanced at Valarie, but Valarie stayed silent.
