XIX ~ Second Chance

    Meliodas landed in front of the main door of Camelot. Estarossa and Zeldris landed behind him.

    "Hey, Mel?" Estarossa asked. Meliodas looked at him. "What are we going to do about Zeldris' chain?" Estarossa had carried Zeldris there since he couldn't fly.

    "Right," Meliodas mumbled. He thought for a moment. "Oh! A boy named Arthur should be coming to take back this kingdom. When he shows up I could ask him."

    "But if he's taking back the kingdom why would he do that?" Zeldris asked.

    "Well once I reopen the demon realm Camelot won't be necessary right?" Meliodas said. "And besides the kid admires me. I'm sure he'd understand." Estarossa nodded and led the way through the grand doors.

    "Yo! We're back!" Estarossa called. The Ten Commandments all came running into the room but froze when they saw Meliodas.

    "What is he doing here?" Melascula asked.  Zeldris locked arms with Meliodas and smiled.

    "He's come back!" Zeldris announced. The Ten Commandments looked shocked.

    "It was like you said Monspeet," Estarossa said. "He protected Zeldris." Monspeet smiled gratefully at Meliodas.

    "Father has made him the heir again and he's come at this very moment to take the throne," Zeldris said.

    Derieri's jaw dangled. "What!?" Estarossa and Zeldris replied with a yep and Meliodas smiled innocently. The three came up to the rest and Meliodas bowed his head.

    "I apologize for everything. I know I failed in my job. I failed to protect my people, never mind that I hurt my comrades. You don't have to forgive me, I only ask for a second chance," Meliodas said.

    The Ten Commandments were silent. They looked to each other, not sure how to answer. Graylord glanced at the brothers.

    Meliodas was still looking down. Zeldris was holding his arm, a worried look on his face. Estarossa stood to the side, slightly jealous he wasn't part of the hug.

    The Ten Commandments looked at them and made up their minds.

    "We'll give you a second chance."
