Chapter 25

Aline sat on the bench with her glass of wine and stared at the sky. Helen was standing behind her without making any noise.

You can do this Helen, just talk to her, just talk...talk...talk, she thought to herself.

Taking a deep breath, she took a step forward.

"Aline...hey" she said walking to stand next to Aline.

Aline didn't look at her.

"Aline can we talk for a moment? Please...I won't take long..." Helen said.

Aline taking a few seconds to think, nodded.

"Can I sit next to you? My legs are killing me..."

Aline nodded and made space for Helen on the bench by moving to the side. Helen smiled and sat next to her.

"Aline..." she said and took a deep breath "you might have obviously guessed by now; I have feelings for you...like very strong feelings for you...I don't know when this started...maybe on the day you helped me to take my bags to my apartment or maybe on the day you made me feel better after my fight with Magsy..." she said looking at Aline.

Aline didn't respond nor look at her. So Helen continued "I just want to tell you that I'm sorry for what I did that day...I shouldn't have kissed you like that...I just lost control...I thought you had feelings for me too...I'm so sorry Aline...I just hope you forgive me and we can be friends again...I don't want us to be like this...please don't be mad at me and forgive me" she said and looked at Aline again.

Aline turned her back towards Helen and Helen sighed.

"It's okay Aline if you can't forgive me...I told you what I wanted to...and I just want to say that my feelings for you if you feel bothered, I'll try my best to hide them..." Helen said and tried to smile fighting back her tears. "I'll get going then...enjoy the party" she said and stood up to walk back inside.

But to her surprise Aline said "Wait..."

Helen wiped off her tears and turned to see Aline whose eyes were filled with tears and tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I'm not mad at you Helen" she said looking at Helen.

Helen was surprised to say anything.

"Helen I was...I was confused...I was not mad..." Aline said coming a step closer to Helen. "I didn't know what this feeling was...I didn't want to admit that I was in love with someone again...I was too scared..." she said now only a few inches away from Helen's face.

"I don't want to forgive you Helen...because you did nothing wrong..." Aline said touching Helen's cheek and wiping off the tears which were streaming down her cheeks.

"Helen..." Aline said grasping Helen's face with both her hands "I felt lost without talking to you for the past few weeks...every time I walked in front of your apartment I wanted to come in and hug you...I didn't know why I felt that...but then I realized that I'm in love with you...I love you Helen...I love you so much..." she said with tears in her eyes.

Helen's eyes were also filled with tears...she didn't know what she was feeling at that moment, "I love you too...I love you too Aline...so much" she said smiling through her tears.

"You stole a kiss from me...now it's my turn..." Aline said and put one hand around Helen's waist and the other around her neck and pulled her into a soft kiss. When their lips touched both of them felt a current through their spines.

What they didn't notice was that everyone at the party were witnessing their love confession.

Alec, Magnus and everyone else cheered when their lips locked.

They pulled back in embarrassment and hugged each other. "I love you" Helen whispered, "I love you too" Aline whispered back.

"Now that it's settled guys...let's enjoy the party..." Magnus said putting his arm around Alec's waist and kissing on the cheek.

Alec smiled "let's go" he said and all of them enjoyed the party till late night.
