<MINGYU>

Why are you doing this?

I don't know either.

You just left a woman who might be just what you needed all this time.

I know. She's perfect. She likes baseball, she loves Harry Potter, she's a dog person, she likes Photography, she plays violin and piano, she's exactly what I want in a woman.

But?

She's not Chou Tzuyu...

****

When Mingyu ran out the restaurant he quickly revived the engine of his car and  sped off to Tzuyu's, stopping at an open flower shop to buy her lilies, her favorite flower, and also at a 7-11 to buy a Coke, hotdog sandwiches, chocolates, beer, and ice cream. The top food listed on her diet cheat sheet.

He didn't care if she got fat one bit but to see her cry and hurting? No, not on his watch.

Tzuyu, all the while, was curled up in her security blanket watching some crappy, old romance movie, slightly-red eyes puffed out from crying.

'I waited for you for seven years! And now it's too late.'

'I wrote you 365 letters. I wrote you everyday for a year.'

'You wrote me? You--'

'Yes! It wasn't over... It still isn't over.'

And just when Ryan Gosling kissed Rachel McAdams in the film The Notebook, Tzuyu threw her pillow on the TV.

"That's not fair!" And sobbed horribly. "No Allie! All men are jerks! Your great love Noah? Yeah he's gon' leave you too!"

"Shouting at TV. Nice." Mingyu came bursting through the door, startling Tzuyu like hell of course.

"Geez Mingyu! You almost gave me a heart attack!" She said while clutching her chest.

"But I didn't,"

Mingyu smiled and just went to sit on her living room, beside her, placing the lilies on her empty vase.

"Why are you here? It's 9pm. Was she not good enough for you? Like anybody else?"

"Whoa, easy. I'm not your enemy. " he chuckled as he opened the cola.

"Then why are you here?"

"Because... You... are going to have a Valentine's date..." He grabbed the spoon for the ice cream, "with me!" He smiled at her.

"Are you serious?" She rhetorically asked.

"Yeah," he opened her ice cream pint for her, "now stop moping around and eat!"

There was silence, but neither good nor bad. Both of them didn't know what to say and gods! Was the ice cream delicious!

"So... That's some sexy movie you got there." Mingyu commented on the love scene on screen.

"Don't judge me, I'm only human!" She laughed.

Finally, I thought I'm never gonna see her laugh tonight.

"Besides, you watch porn all the time!"

"Yo, hey! Whoa-- oh alright." He guffawed throwing her a small pillow. "That's true."

"Disgusting,"

The rest of the movie was unseen by them as they started teasing each other like they always do. Mingyu's date night turned out to be a movie night with Tzuyu and he couldn't complain less. Every hour spent with her was his treasure. Nothing can be of more importance than seeing her smile, her eyes that make her glow, her nose, her lips, and well... Just her. Everything about her that makes her Tzuyu. As she glowed in his eyes even more, his fears grew stronger. He's afraid that he can love her more and that's bad because she's his best friend.

Mingyu stood up to turn off her TV when the movie rolled credits.

He went back to Tzuyu and held her hands to stand her, "Dance with me." He said.

"You're cray-cray,"

He chuckled and continued holding her closer. Tzuyu didn't care and just slow danced with him. She was so close to him, she could almost smell his men's cologne.

"We don't even have a music to dance to,"

"We'll make one." Mingyu started humming Tzuyu's favorite song, Tony Bennett's The Way You Look Tonight.

"Thank you for coming tonight, Min~ I feel less... Lonely." She sighed and put her head on his shoulder as she grabbed all the spaces between them.

"You know you can cry on my shoulder, right?"

His low, concerned voice was all it took for Tzuyu to silently break down on him.

No words were spoken. They stood there in the middle of her living room, just like that. Embracing each other's comfort.

A few moments later, when Tzuyu was a little more calm.

"He's an ass for not seeing your worth, sweetie." He stroked her hair while unconsciously smelling that vanilla scent of hers. "I'm going to kill him, I swear."

"You don't have to do that, Min. I'm just glad he was honest,"

"Why are you defending him? He doesn't even deserve you." He pulled away a little farther to see her face. "Look at this beautiful eyes," He wiped away the tears that hurt him as well. "This shouldn't be crying,"

"You must think I'm so stupid,"

"No, I don't. I think he's stupid,"

"Was it so wrong that I loved him too much?"

"No, it wasn't wrong. You just gave your love to the wrong person." He smiled before kissing her forehead.

It was twice the pain, what he felt, that moment when he saw her cry.

"You know what's crazy?"

"Mm?"

"I can't seem to hate him, even just a little bit,"

Mingyu could only sigh as he hate Jun himself right then. Of all the people he trusted to take care of her, to never make her feel sad he never thought it'd be Jun. Why in the world would you go after another woman if you have someone like Chou Tzuyu?! He mentally cursed him.
