Ever After

I woke up in my room in my parent's house in Storybrooke, I looked around for a second and saw that nothing changed. I got up and went down stairs, everyone was in the kitchen talking. I entered the room and everyone went silent, then all of a sudden I was pulled into a tight hug. It was my brother and he was squeezing the life out of me. "Henry, you can let go now. Please? I can't breath" I said, he finally let go after a few more seconds of squeezing me "Sorry, I've missed you" he said. "Where's Hope?" I asked looking around the kitchen "Napping, Pan wanted to force her powers early and it tired her out a lot" Emma said "So that's why he wanted her? So he could use her powers to find me?" I asked "Yes that's what we are thinking" Regina answered. I stood there for a second until a realization hit "Where is excalibur!?" I asked, I just remembered that it was on the ship with us when the storm hit, but I never saw it wash up on the beach in Neverland. "Merlin has it, after you disappeared we took it out from its case and gave it to him to keep safe. It's waiting for you in Camelot" Hook said. I sighed a breath of relief "So when are we going?" I asked "What?" Snow asked "When are we going to Camelot? I've been gone for five years, I need my training so I can start my rule over the kingdom" I said, everyone looked at me a little shocked. "Auburn, we just got you back and tomorrow's your birthday. Why don't we wait a while before traveling again" Emma said "No! I want to go to Camelot!" I said slightly raising my voice "Auburn please, just take some time to get settled. Like you said it's been five years and we just got you back, please just take some time to spend with us first" Snow said getting up from her seat and walking towards me. She tried to pull me into a hug but I pushed her away, "If none of you are going to take me then I'll go myself!" I said before running back to my room. I conjured up my chest from Neverland and started filling it with clothes and keepsakes. Once I finished I teleported myself and the chest back downstairs and started walking out the door. "Auburn wait!" Emma called after me "You can't change my mind" I said walking down the sidewalk, Emma let out a frustrated sigh. "Fine! We'll take you to Camelot, but are you sure this is what you want?" Emma asked"Yes" I said looking at my mom, Emma nodded "Okay, but we'll leave tomorrow instead. Get some rest and then prepare the ship and everything."

That night I was sitting in my bea window staring up at the stars. A shadow appeared in front of me blocking my view."What do you want?" I asked, I recognized it as Pan's shadow. It pointed at me then held it's hand out "I thought he was told to leave me alone? I have a destiny to fulfill you know" I said annoyed and walking to my bed. "Oh I know, love, but I don't want that to happen" I heard Pan's voice behind me and I quickly turned to look at him."H-how?""Surprise!""Why can't you just leave me alone!?" I ask whispering"Why do you want to go to Camelot so bad?" Pan asked dodging my question"That's none of your business" I respond"Just come back with me. Trust me, you'll be a lot happier with us on Neverland than ruling a kingdom alone" Pan said stepping closer to me. "I've spent five years on that Island and never once felt happy" I said "What about with Felix? Don't tell me that you felt nothing with him" Pan said with a raised eyebrow. I froze as I recalled his death in my mind, I could feel tears forming in my eyes. "Of course I did! And you don't get to talk of him after what you put us thru!" I said"And I apologize for that, but please understand that-"I cut him off "Understand what!? All you did was make it difficult for us to be happy! There is nothing you can do to fix that""What if I helped get revenge on his killer?" Pan askedI looked at him to see him smirking, "Excuse me?""I already knew the real reason you want to go to Camelot, Auburn. You want excalibur so you can repair it and kill Rumplestiltskin""How did you-""I'm not stupid Auburn, why else would you want excalibur? You don't care about Camelot, not anymore, you only care about avenging Felix. And I can help with that" Pan said"Why would you help me kill your son?" I asked. Pan looked shocked for a second that I knew about his relationship with the Dark One but answered without questioning it. "I have my reasons, ones that you don't need to know about" He said.I nodded. "Fine, I accept your help. But only if we can leave now, it'll be quicker to just teleport there than travel realm to realm on my dad's ship" I said. Pan nodded then held his hand out for me to take, I did and we disappeared in a puff of green smoke.

We appeared in one of the rooms of the castle. I started walking towards the door when Pan stopped me. "What?" I asked annoyed "A queen should present as such" Pan said in a slightly joking tone, I just looked at him with a bored expression. He rolled his eyes then waved his hand towards me. I was surrounded by green smoke and when it cleared Pan conjured up a mirror. I was now in a long blue dress and my hair was done up.

I also noticed a locket around my neck, I looked at Pan confused but all he said was "Open it"I did and inside was a picture of Felix, but it wasn't like any normal picture, it was moving.

"How?" I asked looking up at Pan "Magic, now let's get you your sword" Pan said walking past me. He opened the door and waited for me to go thru "After you, your highness" He said with a slight bow and a grin, I rolled my eyes "Shut up" I said with a small laugh.We walked threw the whole castle searching each room for Excalibur. We finally entered a room with a giant round table, on top of it was Excalibur. I ran to grab it, but as soon as I reached for the hilt of the sword it disappeared. "Where'd it go?" Pan said walking to my side "I don't know" I said looking around the room. Pan started helping me search until we heard a voice coming from the doors to the room. "Looking for this?" it said, I turned to the direction of the voice to see Merlin holding it in his hand. "Auburn!?" He said when he saw me "What are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you for a while, where's your family?""Storybrooke, I couldn't wait" I said "Now" I stared Merlin in the eyes causing them to turn a foggy blue as I used my manipulation power "I would like Excalibur please" I reached my hand out towards him and he started walking towards me, giving me the sword like I asked "Thanks, and tomorrow we will have my corenation to crown me queen" I said, Merlin just simply nodded in agreement "Wonderful! and until then I have no other use for you" I said and with a wave of my hand I turned Merlin into a tree then sent him outside to the private garden."I thought you didn't care about being queen anymore?" Pan said from behind me, I turned to look at him before responding."I don't" I said "But at least being Queen gives me a reason to stay here and figure out a plan to kill the Dark One and get the dagger to repair Excalibur""And how exactly do you plan on killing him when he has the dagger on him at all times? Seeing as how that is the only way to kill him" Pan said"That's where you are going to help me" I said Pan just gave me a puzzled look."I need you to go back to Neverland and get me Dreamshade and then lock the Dark One up somewhere where he can't get to the cure he created" I said"You want me to kidnap the Dark One!?""Hey! You said you'd help me because you wanted him dead too. So get the poison, lock him up and get me his dagger" I said before leaving the room.The next day I started preparing for my coronation before turning Merlin human again. 

Everyone in Camelot was ordered to the castle, only being told that there was an important announcement. I waited in my room, with Pan, for a guard to tell me it was time to enter the throne room.I walked threw the hall, stopping right outside the throne room doors listening for Merlin to give me the cue to enter. "Now introducing our new Queen, Queen Auburn!" He said, the double doors to the throne room opened immediately after and I walked down the aisle to where Merlin was standing. I bowed for him to replace the crown on my head with a new one.

As soon as the crown touched my head I stood up straight and turned to look out at all the citizens of Camelot, they all stood and bowed to me. After the ceremony there was a ball to celebrate, but while the citizens were enjoying their time at the celebration I was sitting in my throne with Pan standing next to me on my right discussing the plan one last time before he left."Do you have any place specific you'd like me to teleport you know who?" Pan asked"Yes, in fact. I asked Merlin earlier to enchant the cells in the dungeon so he can't escape, so anyone of those will do" I said"What about your family? Won't they come here to look for you?" Pan asks "I've already had Merlin cast a spell which prevents outsiders from coming in and citizens from leaving" I said, Pan nods and I dismiss  him so he can go to Neverland.After the celebration Merlin enters my room as I'm preparing for bed. "Do you need anything else my Queen?" He asks with a bow "No, my use for you has run out for now" I said turning the wizard back into a tree which automatically teleported him out to the gardens.It had been a few weeks since Pan left to retrieve the Dreamshade and Rumplestiltskin, and honestly(and very surprising to me) I was starting to miss his company. I was sitting in my study going over a list given to me by one of the guards with complaints and requests from the citizens of Camelot when I saw movement from the corner of my eye, when I looked I saw Pan standing on the other side of the room. I immediately stood from my seat and ran to him giving him a tight hug. I quickly pulled away and took a step back while Pan had a stunned look on his face.He smirked as he looked down at me "Missed me that much, hm?" He said with a raised brow"Wha-!? NO!" I said defensively "Did you get it?" I asked trying to change the subjectPan took out the Dark One Dagger from the inside of his shirt and handed it to me "And the Dark One?" I asked"In the dungeon, as requested" Pan saidI nodded "Wonderful, I'll go see him then. There is a room prepared for you a few doors down from mine, I will send a guard to escort you" I said before leaving the study, calling for the guard down the hall to take Pan to his room.I entered the dungeon and saw Rumplestiltskin laying in the first cell. I unlocked the the cell gate and entered the cell causing the Dark One to notice my presence."Auburn?" He said in a strained voice"Hello Rumple" I said walking closer to him"What am I doing here?""I said I'd kill you didn't I?" I said then removing the dagger from the pocket in my dress, revealing it to the Dark One. His eyes widened looking up at me, I crouched down next to him and looked him in the eye "You deserve this" I said then shoving the dagger into his chest.I pulled the dagger out and saw my name was now carved into it. I teleported Rumple's body back to his shop in Storybrooke then went to my room to retrieve excalibur."Is it done?" Pan asked joining me to my room, I showed him the dagger as we walked."So now what?" He asked"Now we put the two together" I said when we reached my room, I grabbed excalibur from its case then changed with a snap of my fingers into a more comfortable outfit, perfect for traveling.

"And how are you going to achieve this? Since you have yet to answer that last few times I've asked" Pan said"With the flame of Prometheus" I responded"I thought that was a myth?""Nope, Merlin told me all about it. Of course he didn't have much of a choice" I said with a mischievous grin"Where is it then?" Pan asked"Merlin gave me a map, if we follow it directly we will get to it without getting lost" I said"Then maybe I should hold on to it, you're still a LOST girl after all" Pan jokedI rolled my eyes but couldn't help letting a small smile force itself on my face"Anyway, I just need to make Merlin human again so he can take care of Camelot while I'm gone then we'll be on our way" I saidWe walked out to my private garden where a hawthorn tree stood in the middle. I snapped my fingers and the tree turned back into Merlin "Auburn! What can I do for you now?" He asked bowing"Look after the kingdom while I'm gone""Of course" Merlin walked into the castle with two guard escorts then Pan and I started our way to the flame of Prometheus.

Pan and I had been walking for hours and it was now dark out so we decided to stop for the night and get some rest before continuing. We were sitting next to the fire that Pan started, I picked up a long stick and started poking at it. "Be careful not to burn yourself" Pan warned I rolled my eyes "I know how fire works thank you, I've been stuck on you stupid island for five years remember" I said"I know, but you were always the most reckless""Yeah, because it pissed you off" I said smirking"Why do you hate me so much?" Pan asked looking from me to the groundI was shocked by the question."I don't hate you" I said continuing to poke at the fire "Then why act so cold towards me?""I don't know, you were never to thrilled about me leaving even though you didn't want me there at first either" I said "Felix was the same but you two warmed up to each other""Because he noticed how miserable I was there and tried everything he could to make me happy. You just kept trying to stop me from achieving what I really wanted""And what about now? I agreed to help you run off to Camelot and kill the Dark One" Pan said"Because that also benefit you, even though I still don't quite understand why" I said"Well I'm also helping you repair excalibur""True. which brings me to my question, why keep me away from getting excalibur?" I askedPan was quiet for a few seconds before responding "Because I knew what you'd become""What?""A few months after you landed in Neverland I went to find a seer and she told be about you becoming the next ruler of Camelot, and just like the previous, you'd be obsessed with forging it and the dark one dagger back together which you cause you to have to kill the current Dark One making you the most powerful of all the other Dark Ones and anyone one else with magic. You'd be almost completely unkillable""So what? You decided to keep me on Neverland in hopes that what the seer said wouldn't happen?""Well no, at first I thought I'd ask Felix to get rid of you-""EXCUSE ME!?""BUT! Then the seer told me something else""And what was that?""It doesn't matter" Pan said"If it's the reason you spared my life then of course it matters Pan! Tell me!""She said we'd be together, that we were each other's true love"I chuckled "Oh PLEASE! Felix is my true love..or was before..." I started poking at the fire again to distract my brain from that horrible thought."But you can have more than one true love Auburn. Your mom had two, your father and Henry's father, so why are you acting like this is the craziest thing you've heard?""Because I don't love you Pan, I never have""I don't believe that""Then that's on you, I'm not going to pretend that there is something between us when there isn't. And you shouldn't either" I said tossing the stick in my hand into the fire and standing up "I'm going to bed now, good night Peter"I crawled into my sleeping bag and turned so my back was facing Pan and the fire.The next morning Pan and I silently picked up our camp and continued on our way to the flame.When we got to our destination we saw the flame burning in a stone pedestal. I placed the dark one dagger and excalibur one either side of the pedestal and used my new dark one magic to lift a small piece of the flame in the air. It grew bigger as I used my magic until it was a huge ball of fire floating in the air. I lifted the sword and dagger to the ball of fire, I held them both in place until the magic held them until they were merged together. I grabbed the newly repaired excalibur and could feel all the power coursing through my body. "Now what" Pan asked moving next to me "Now I'm going to bring him back" I said, Pan looked at me confused "How?" he asked "With this" I said showing a small vile of a red liquid "What is that?""Some of your son's blood" I said smiling at it"What do you need his blood for?""To get to the Underworld""Excuse me!?" Pan looked at me like I was crazy"I need to go there, it's the only way to get Felix back!" I said stuffing the vile back into cloak pocket "And how exactly did you plan on getting out?" Pan asked"Don't worry about it, I've already figured that part out. We just need to get back to Storybrooke so I can open the portal" I said reaching my hand out for Pan's "We? There is no way I'm going to the Underworld without a way out" he said stepping back "Is that so?" I said looking at him threateningly before quickly stepping towards him and ripping his heart out "Because I don't think you have much of a choice" I grabbed his arm and teleported us to Storybrooke.We arrived in Zelena's house and I was once again in a new outfit(just a t-shirt, leggings, sneakers and a hoodie). Zelena was sitting at her kitchen table when we appeared in front of her, she jumped up out of shock prepared to use her magic till she realized it was me. "Auburn!? What are you doing here? Everyone's been looking for you!" she shouted "And what are you doing with him!?" she asked when she noticed Pan "Don't worry about him, I got it under control" I said holding up Pan's heart in my hand "But I need your help with something" I said"With what exactly?" Zelena asked"I'm trying to bring someone back from the underworld""Auburn that's impossible, you can't even open a portal without the blood of someone who's already been brought back" Zelena said"Which I've already got covered" I said now showing her the vile"How did you-" Zelena's eyes widened"Auburn, the only person you could have gotten that from is-""Rumple? I know""How did you even get close enough?""I had some help, it was actually very easy. A little bit of dreamshade, and enchanted cell and the dark one dagger in my possession made it a cake walk" I said smiling"Auburn you didn't!"I lifted excalibur "Oh but I did""Well do you have a plan to get out?" Zelena asked finally giving in to the idea"Yes, that's what I need you for. I've done my research and found out you were VERY close to the ruler of the Underworld, does the name Hades ring any bells?" I saidZelena's eyes widened "Auburn please""I heard you were the only one who could restart his heart, and I'd like to test that theory" I said"No, I'm not helping you. And I will be telling Emma about this, she'll have you home and grounded before you can even teleport away""No, she won't I'm 18 now which means I'm an adult so she can't do anything to stop me. And neither can you" I said, with a wave of my hand the enchanted cuffs appear on Zelena's wrist, stopping her from escaping. Now that both Pan and Zelena where dealt with I teleported the three of us to Heritage Park and poured Rumples blood into the lake. I saw Charon slowly approaching, and when he got close enough I sent Zelena and Pan first while I followed close behind. We all boarded the boat and Charon took us to the Underworld.

Once we arrived in the Underworld I immediately took us to Hades who was expecting us.We entered his lair and saw him sitting in his throne. "Auburn! So wonderful to meet you, the new dark one!" He said getting up from the throne and walking towards me "Likewise" I said"I heard you wanted to make a deal?" Hades said"Yes, I do and I have all that you asked for" I said"Wait, you've already spoke with him!?" Pan saidI glared at him and started squeezing his heart and watched him suffer from the pain, I stopped before I killed. "From now one you will speak when spoken to" I saidPan nodded to show he understood."Now, back to business" I said to Hades"Yes, of course. Here he is just as promised" Hades said waving his hand which made Felix appear in a swarm of blue flames "Just needs a living heart"I could feel Pan's eyes on me, I looked back at him "Sorry, not sorry. Hope you'll understand" I said before turning back to Felix. I shoved Pan's heart into Felix's chest, I could hear Pan collapse on the ground "And your end of the bargain" Hades said looking at Zelena. I grabbed the witch by her arm and shoved her towards Hades at the same time I pulled Felix closer to me. I admired his face for a few second before looking back at Hades, "Now the way out" I said"The portal in the clock tower should be open, you know where it is" Hades said before turning his attention back to Zelena who started calling for you as you walked away "Auburn please! Don't leave me here!" She begged, I only looked back once to apologize before continuing my way out with Felix.When we got to the clock tower Felix stopped me before we could go threw "You've changed, what happened?" he asked looking at me into my eyes, "I lost you is what happened, but I have you back now so it's okay" I said looking back at him"The old Auburn wouldn't just sacrifice someone with no remorse, let alone two people" Felix said"Pan did nothing but try to separate us, Robin can now have a life with Regina and his daughter with out Zelena's interference, and Hades gets his true love. I've found a solution for all of us" I said "And what about the Lost Boys? What will you tell them when we're back without Pan, their leader?" Felix said"I've already figured that out, and as his second in command this automatically makes you the new leader of the Lost Boys. Congratulations darling you've been promoted!"I pat Felix's shoulder and prepare to jump through the portal but Felix grabs my arm again. "Auburn are you sure? We've spent years so you can reunite with your family and now you want to throw that all away and return to the place you so desperately wanted to escape?""They didn't care when Rumple killed you! They didn't even want me to go to Camelot and retrieve excalibur! After all that I don't want to go back to them" I said "I'd rather stay with you and the Lost Boys" I said"Are you sure?" Felix asked looking into your eyes again, I looked back at him for a second and nodded. He gave a slight nod back before taking my hand and walked with me through the portal.

We arrived back at Heritage Park, and luckily it was still night time, I decided to head back to my parent's house real quick to pack a few things before Felix and I went back to Neverland. Felix and I appeared in my room and started packing an old school bag with pictures I wanted to keep, the copy of my mom's red jacket, the replica of my father's ship in a bottle, my lockets, charm bracelet, my dagger and finally a small jewelry box with my name carved on the top. "Is that all?" Felix asked as I put the backpack on my back and picked up excalibur "In one second, there's one more thing I need" I said going to leave my room "Woah! What're you doing? What if you're family is down there?" Felix asked"I can cloak myself, they can't see me" I said"Hope can""She's probably with Granny and the Diner" I said exiting my room.I went downstairs and into my parents room, I quickly saw what I was after. A mirror gifted to Emma from Regina sitting on her nightstand. I run in and grab it, then start searching both my parents night stand drawers to find a magic bean. Once I do I quickly stuff the mirror in my bag and then run back out to Felix. "Okay I'm ready" I said"Okay, what did you get?" Felix asked"A mirror Regina gifted my mother, it's meant to allow the holder to see whatever they wish to and a magic bean" I said"Okay, I understand the bean, but why would you need the mirror?""Just to check in every now and then. Make sure they don't try to search for me again or for Zelena, anyway can we go now? I'd like to leave before everyone gets back" I said, Felix nodded. We went outside to the front yard and throw the magic bean onto the ground. A portal forms where the bean landed, I thought of where I wanted to go and jumped in with Felix.

Felix and I arrived in the middle of camp, all the Lost Boys seemed to be in their tents sleeping so you and Felix decided to head to your tree house to have some time alone before having to face the others in the morning. On your way to the tree house, however, you bump into Devin who was sitting on the nearby rock. He jumped up as soon as he saw you, "Auburn!? Felix!? H-how are you  both here!? Felix we all saw you die! And Auburn we thought you left! Where's Pan? He said he needed to deal with something, did either of you see him? Is he back too?" Devin started babbling on with question after question."Devin! Hush! We will explain everything in the morning, but until then get some rest it's late" I said, Devin nodded and walked to his tent. Felix and I climbed up to my tree house and I started unpacking my bags while Felix got changed and laid in my bed. I also changed after everything away and joined Felix in bed. "Ugh! I'm soo tired!" I said burying my face into my pillow, "Yeah I bet, when was the last time you slept?" Felix asked"What day is it?" I asked jokingly turning my head to look at Felix.Felix chuckled "Not funny, Auburn, you need sleep. I'll see you in the morning darling" Felix said planting a kiss my my forehead and then blowing out the candle next to my bed.The next morning Felix and I walked to the middle of camp to see all the Lost Boys sitting around the fire waiting for us. The first to speak was Devin, "What happened to Pan?" he asked immediately, all the Lost Boys had their eyes on me waiting for an answer. "Rumpelstiltskin killed him" I lied, there was a chorus of gasps before another Lost Boy spoke "Then we need to avenge him!""You can't, I've already killed the Dark One" I announced, there was another chorus of gasps."So does that mean you're-" Devin started, I showed them all excalibur. One of the boys walked towards me to get a better look at the sword then turned back to the others "It's true" he said"Is that how Felix is back? You used your new magic?" Devin asked, I nodded"So if Pan's gone and Felix is back, does that mean he's now the new leader of the Lost Boys?" one of the younger boys asked, I looked up at Felix waiting for him to answer. He looked back down at me and then at the Lost Boys. "I guess it does? Unless you'd all like to make a vote for the new leader" he said.The Lost Boys discussed amongst themselves for a few minutes before coming to a decision. Devin stepped forward while another boy ran to Pan's old cabin. When the boy came back he handed Devin something, Devin turned to Felix holding the item towards him. It was Pan's flute, Felix took it and looked at it for a second. "Try playing it" I suggested, Felix looked at me and the Lost Boy's started cheering. Felix lifted the flute to his lips and blew into it, he was shocked when sound came out, this caused the boys to cheer even more. Felix started playing the first song to come to mind and the Lost Boys started dancing around the fire like they did when Pan was still leader. Felix sat down on the tree stump Pan used to when he played and I sat on the rock that was next to it, "I never knew you could play" I said"Pan taught me when he first made me is right hand, this was the first song I ever heard him play before I stopped hearing the flute" Felix said taking a break, the music continued even though Felix stopped playing the flute since Pan had enchanted it to do so."So what else can you do as leader of the Lost Boys?" I asked"Not much, just play the flute and control the shadow, but that's all Pan's magic that was left behind, I have none of my own" Felix answered"Oh""But luckily my right hand does" He said looking down at meI looked at him surprised, "W-what? A-are you sure!?" I stuttered"Of course I'm sure, why wouldn't I want my beautiful girlfriend to be by my side?" Felix saidI smiled at the compliment and looked down. "I would be honored to be your second in command" I whispered, just loud enough for him to hear"I would love nothing more" Felix said placing his hand on my shoulder before grabbing the flute and playing it again. I watch him for a few seconds before deciding to get up and join the others around the fire, I started dancing with everyone else. I looked over at Felix after a while and saw he was watching me, I smiled at him and felt the most joy I've felt in a long time. The Lost Boys continued dancing as the night went on and I finally felt like everything was perfect.
