Chapter 84

Six months later...

May 12, 2022

Wedding day..

Deep breaths. Today's the day, I get to marry the love of my life. Its been a long hell of a journey coming all the way here and it wasn't easy but its worth it. I stare at myself in the mirror while people around me fuss about the event itself like if the guests are coming, is the cake gonna make it to the reception, or did the minister arrived at the venue already.

By the way, I wasn't able to convince my soon to be wife for a beach wedding. She hates the idea so we settled for a garden wedding here in Texas where there are no floating cameras around and a very private abandoned place where I took her for pictures two years ago, at least that's what they told me about. Of course our event organizers , which was headed by the twins, made it possible to transform the top of the eco trail into a magical venue. I already saw it last night having to sneak out of the bachelorette party because it was becoming more wild and Zoë was really having her moment of fun. It was more than I imagined really. A trail of lights with archways of roses guiding its way leading up to the perfect and magical ceremonial set up. It was more than perfect, its too good to be true like the ones came out straight from a story book.

It was quite difficult planning a wedding, working on a show and her having to do press for Doctor Strange at the same time, not to mention the frenzy it created when the news came out with a picture of the both of us out in a walk back in LA with her wearing the ring on the right finger, and that took out the energy from the both of us. There were some misunderstandings and fights about it but at the end of the day none of that really mattered, because all that matters is us becoming as one.

"Shan?" I snap out of my thoughts and look up to see Mary Kate coming in all dressed up beautifully in a black pantsuit which she always does, holding a garment bag with her. She greets my mom and my sister in the room giving them hugs before her eyes find mine through the mirror and she smiles sweetly.

"I have your suit." She hangs it on the garment rack and walks over to me, eyes glistening like she was about to cry or something or maybe because of relief that in a few hours this would all be over and everything they worked for is so worth it. "You nervous?"

"Yea" I breathe. Its an unexplainable feeling, an anxiety that bubbles up from your stomach up to your heart, an impulsive excitement of seeing your fiancé walk down the aisle for the first time and even though you've seen her the other day, and almost everyday for almost a year, there's something in the air that tells you this is different from any days that you've seen her and it makes my heart race every time I would imagine it. "Is she ready?"

"Almost" She kisses me on top of my head before pulling away. "and you also need too because ceremony starts in an hour and a montage in about 40 minutes. I'll see you later by the trail." She says as she backs away and heads to the door. "By the way, you look charming." She winks before disappearing out the door and that gave me a confidence boost, if you hear that from one of the top fashion icon then you have to believe it.

The wedding's not that of big, just close friends and family. Its very private really and we had the public thinking that we're in some island in Barbados and thanks to Marla and Alyssa, it was sending the public eye into a different direction, the engagement part was a total frenzy and what more if they found out about the wedding.

I stood up and walked over to the garment rack taking the one Mary Kate just hang earlier and zip it down catching a glimpse of a white suit and I let out a soft chuckle seeing the tag inside which says 'The Row for Shannon Beveridge-Olsen". It actually made the nerves come up, that last name holds a huge recognition and up until now, I still don't think I deserve it, I just have to prove it to myself for the rest of my life because my soon to be wife seems to believe it, that's the reason why we're doing this in the first place right.

The suit is with layers of a turtle neck tank top, a cream white dress shirt and a cream white blazer and cream white dress pants. Jane also left a box earlier, she said its from the bride herself and to me, its just Elizabeth making sure I don't wear anything else besides what I'm guessing are white oxfords, the typical shoes that goes with these outfits, but to my surprise, my eyes lands on a cream white high cut 70's Chuck tucked underneath a thin sheet of paper packaging and it actually made me so happy. I picked up the note on the side reading it with a smile playing on my face.

Just this time honey. I know you hate those Oxfords so I'm letting you off this time. I got you a new pair so you won't have to wear the beat up ones, the twins will kill you I'm telling you. I'll see you later baby. I love you so much and I can't wait to marry you my love.

I know I'm not suppose to cry yet since , its too early for that but reading that just makes me feel like I'm on cloud 9 with cupids surrounding me. I dab my eyes and blink to not ruin the masterpiece that Emma did on me earlier. I start getting dressed up and I must say, every piece is a perfect fit. Well, I'm not really surprised about it since the twins have my measurements imprinted in their memory with the amount of times, they made suits for me not to mention have a whole limited collection with it.

"Shan?" Mom. I poke my head out of the dressing room and saw my mom all dressed up with Dad and Casey behind her.

"Yea?" I smiled before stepping out completely out the room and I watch as they gaze at me from head to toe and so I turn around giving them a nice good look on how the suit really fits and then she starts to tear up and that's how I know its perfect.

"Oh God, Mom please don't cry. You're going to make me cry." I say as I pull her in for a hug and the family joins in.

"Oh you got the signature" Casey suddenly says looking to my shoes and I chuckled nodding my head.

"Yea, Elizabeth sent me these." She smiles and scrunches her nose.

"Ashley told us to get you for the montage. Are you ready to go?" Mom says a soft proud look on her face that I've seen almost all the time, but this one's special because its my wedding day and its still absurd to think about it, kind of like a dream.

By the time I get to the trail, Ashley is already having shots of the bridesmaids. She wears a white pantsuit matching Mary Kate's black ones and she looks beautiful on them too. Zoë announced our presence as she gasps the moment she saw me, which made all of them turn to me.

"Well, well, well. You look charmingly beautiful today. What's the occasion?" Ashley giggles as I roll my eyes and shake my head, smiling from ear to ear. She gives me a soft peck on the cheek and a hug as soon as I was in reach before pulling back just to gaze up at me from head to toe and it took a while before she looks back up.

"Chuck Taylor's?" A grin plastered across my face before winking at her. She raised her brows and smiles. "Not so bad."

"Its signature." I say and she chuckles nodding her head. We had a little montage for our wedding video which I am also directing, by the way. I want to remember this moment and all of it, from start to finish. I want to capture everything for us, so I asked Lesli if I could borrow some of our team to work a few cameras for me for this day and since we just finished production and she's invited to our wedding, she agrees with it even offered on taking over but the men were enough for a huge favor.

Later then, Trent, Jake and Court comes in making my heart jump out of my chest. Trent and Jake wears the traditional black and white suit with an emerald jade colored pocket square tucked in the suit's chest pocket and tie with the same color while Courtney wears an emerald green a-line dress that matches Elizabeth's engagement ring, her natural curls have been straightened out. They look gorgeous.

"Damn looking good Beveridge." Trent says pulling me into a tight hug. "or should I say Beveridge-Olsen."

"That's a bit better, has a nice ring to it." Jake says giving me a hug as well and I chuckled pulling away and giving Courtney one too

"Well you look dashing." Courtney smiles as soon as she pulls away pinching me on my cheek. It feels good to have this relationship with the her siblings. I think the accident years ago made it easier, I guess because I really don't know what I did for them to like me so much, they treat me as family before all of this even started. "You look beautiful as always Court." I smiled and she rolls her eyes nudging me and saying a sweet 'Thank you' and a sweet smile on her lips.

"Mary Kate says ceremony starts in ten minutes so we should probably get going." Court says and so the bridesmaid joined Courtney as they made their way to the trail going up for about a five minute walk towards the top. Its a short trail and not that steep at all so they'll get there without even messing up anything.

"How are you feeling?" Trent asks as we follow behind them. I took a deep breath having a mental check on how am I feeling and only one thing comes into mind.

"Euphoric." He smiles and wraps an arm around me and doesn't say a thing and it made me glance at him and it looks like he's going to cry or something and it made a lump in my throat. The feeling is really overwhelming and tears aren't new to weddings, they're part of it so I understood how he's feeling right now.

"Alright big guy." I chuckled as I run my hand against his back trying to comfort him while I keep my emotions in. Now I imagine what she would look like walking down the aisle with David walking her down and just thinking about it makes my heart explode in my chest what more when the moment comes and that will happen any minute now. Any minute now I'll be marrying my forever.

Author's P.O.V.Everything is set. Shannon waits in front of the arch decorated with every kind of flower they loved but not the ones that hold so much meaning to her because those are the ones that only belongs to someone, and that someone will spend the rest of her life with her.

One by one her family and Elizabeth's family comes in and followed by their closest friends, even Scarlett and Collin are present since Rose is the only flower girl they had and she was killing it. A romantic spin on the wedding march fades out until a white sheet of cloth drops from the archway on the other side of the aisle and that's when the nerves kicks in.

The euphoric feeling have grown stronger and its overwhelming her now. Sweaty hands, stomach tied tightly in a knot, Tingly fingers and blood dropping down to her feet as she anxiously waits for the sheets to rise up again. Soft music transitions to a romantic version of a familiar song and by the title itself tells her why. Well a photograph kept them alive together even at the peak of the impossible. She smiles as the first tear fell and the sheets splits into two revealing her soon to be wife in the arms of her parents.

Bright green eyes captured those strong blue eyes. Its like the sky over green meadows, how they form something so peaceful and quiet and beautiful. Everything fades and now its just the two of them with her rooted to the ground, waiting for her bride to reach her. Golden hair, long simple and elegant white gown, red lips, emerald jade eyes. She's like a muse came out straight from an old book. A work of art, the ones sculptors absorbs their artistic inspiration in creating something magnificent.

Shannon thinks or maybe second guesses that if this is reality she's living in and even considered the thought that maybe she's just having a black out and her black outs have gone better, daydreaming, she figures. Her heart beats faster than she could describe it, making it impossible for her to keep up, but she's hanging even though her breath got stuck up in her throat mesmerizing Elizabeth.

And the moment comes when David reached out and took her in a hug and gave her a soft tap at the back and Jarnie kissed her cheek stroking them before removing the soft stain of her lipstick that was left and it made her giggle and now she faces her bride. Elizabeth smiles, the sweetest smile she has ever seen and she breathes out and whispers before taking her hand.

"Am I here?" Its just a simple question but it squeezed Elizabeth's heart because as simple as it is, the answer is an important and reassuring thing for Shannon and so she raises a hand from her tulip bouquet and touches her cheeks and whispers the words looking deep down those blue eyes.

"You're here my love."  Shannon smiles from ear to ear and just couldn't contain herself anymore saying it louder than she intended it to be as she says

"You're absolutely stunning." The crowd chorused in awe that brought Shannon out of her trance as her face heat up and Elizabeth giggles. Shannon takes her bride's hand and guides it around her arm before they walk in front of the wedding minister and now everything starts as the minister starts to talk.

Shannon couldn't keep her eyes off her and Elizabeth couldn't keep her eyes off her as well. Their hearts are talking with each other through their eyes and all that's running through their minds are reruns of what they've been through since the beginning and when the vows had come, pure silence surrounds them, only the birds chirping through the trees covers up a little space in that silence. It will be a memorable one because all the people in the room were a witness of their love and now Elizabeth speaks and as someone who is used to memorizing every lines of her show, surprisingly, Ashley hands her a folded piece of paper and unfolds it glancing up to Shannon who's eyebrows are raised looking at her with a smile. She starts to read.

"They say when two people are destined for each other, fate will find a way for them to stay together. My Shanbee, well," Elizabeth breathes out a huge sigh of relief and everyone reacts in a way of agreeing with her while Shannon chuckles. "this is one hell of a rollercoaster ride with you. A rollercoaster I'm willing to ride over and over again and I would take every risk of it for the both of us. Exactly three years ago, It never did cross my mind that I would fell in love with a woman but there's something about you and only you that changed that. I just felt the safest every time we were together and most importantly and what amazes me the most and will be forever grateful for? You made my family whole again." Elizabeth pauses and took a glance at her family currently in tears watching this special moment before glancing at Shannon who just wipes a tear from her cheek before she continues.

'We were separated by choice then our paths crossed by accident and you don't know how I felt when I received that voice mail of yours. It gave me hope and fear at the same time but all of it was worth it now that it leads us to this. Shannon, I can't promise you sunny days and clear skies all the time, I can't promise you a perfect marriage, knowing how stubborn you are and how determined I am— that's true by the way." Elizabeth states and everyone laughs as Shannon nods her head wiping a tear that had fallen, agreeing to her. "but I promise you, I will always be here for you, cheering on your growing victories in the corner because I know there will be soon. I will always be by your side no matter what happens and keep you here, in the moment. I will always bring you back to me. I love you so much and that will never change, for as long as I live." Elizabeth folds the piece of paper while Shannon gets her phone from Deb where her vows are typed in her notes.

"Sweetheart, that's too good to top it off." Shannon mutters earning some chuckles from the crowd and the bride herself and Shannon smiles hearing her laugh. "Alright here it goes." She whispers before taking a deep breath.

"Never in my wildest dreams have I ever imagined this moment, because these moments only happens in movies, the ones where there are happy endings, and so when an Avenger whose name is Natasha Romanoff aka Scarlett Johansson told me we were a couple back then" Shannon pauses and looks at the crowd looking for Scarlett who winks at her and mouths 'You're welcome to her that made the couple chuckle.

"I totally didn't believe it, but maybe I was wrong, because we were. Unfortunately, I lost every memory of us in a tragic accident that nearly caused my life. A life that was meant to be spent with only one person and maybe that scared the universe and found a way for us to meet again. You've sacrificed more than enough for me my love, and even though I don't think I deserve it, I will be forever thankful for it." Shannon pauses and stares onto Elizabeth's glassy green eyes before slipping her phone in her pocket and held her wife's hand and say what she needs to say straight from her heart.

"Elizabeth, I don't have that much as you do, but I promise to work hard for us. Harder if possible. I promise to protect you at all times, especially on press events and red carpets you need to attend to, heading our security in tact." Shannon states and Elizabeth giggles.

"I promise to learn how to make food for us so you don't have to every single day. I promise to show up always, show, movie screening, photoshoots, interviews or just a simple dinner or lunch or a walk in the city. I will be there. After all, I have the full right to say that I am you're no. 1 and you're biggest fan." Elizabeth smiles sweetly as the crowd chuckles. Then Shannon pauses look into those green eyes.

"Sweetheart, but if the time comes that I won't remember any of these—"

"Shan—" Elizabeth whispers shaking her head slightly, but Shannon was determined to say it and so she smiles softly and touch Elizabeth's cheek.

"If the time comes, I will promise you, I will always keep you in my heart, you and our little Lizzie and Shannon soon enough, because I've learned throughout the years that even if the mind forgets, the heart remembers and you will stay until my heart literally doesn't beat anymore or even furthermore, I love you Elizabeth and I will be yours forever."

The air feels so magical at this point as the ceremony continues to the exchanging of rings which little Rose gave it to them giving them little kisses as she does so and it was the most adorable thing. Finally, the blessing comes.

"So it's now my privelage and my pleasure to declare that you are now married. You may now kiss your bride." Shannon smiles from ear to ear as cheers and whistles errupts from the small crowd in front of them but soon fades as she stares into those eyes. And in a flash, they were alone, not here on the trail but back home underneath the huge oak tree on their spot where everything happened.

Shannon arms made its way around Elizabeth's waist while Elizabeth's arms snakes around Shannon's neck. The forest breeze comes as their foreheads touched together and Shannon whispers.

"Am I still here?" and the moment Elizabeth whispers yes  she takes her lips in hers creating a magical moment and a core memory not just to them but to all the witnesses right here.

Indeed it was one hell of a rollercoaster for them. But against all odds, they always find their way back to each other. Fate really did made it happen, and now there's no turning back. Nothing in the world could separate them ever again because its already written down in their own stories, they were meant to be together and as Shannon says it will always be the greatest love story of all time.

The End.
