Chapter 70

Author's P.O.V."She's here" It was a whisper, almost to the wind. Her eyes moves to her brothers exchanging looks. A knowing look, hearts beating frantically out of their chest. And in an instant, just like a flash of lightning, they're up to their feet yelling Shannon's name in chorus.

Blu and Jim were confused at the same time hopeful, especially Jim. Elizabeth runs up to him holding the bumblebee necklace in her hands gripping it too tight. It was the only thing she can hold on to for dear life.

"What's happening honey?" He says holding onto Elizabeth's shoulders to settle her down and he could understand her properly.

"She— She's here. I found her necklace." But then in an instant she remembers which made her heart races in a bad way, everything fades in black and white. Shannon never did take that necklace off, she wore it all the time. So what in the hell is the necklace doing in her hands.

"What? What is it?" Elizabeth shakes her head frantically thinking the worse. Her head snaps to the raging ocean.

It can't be.

Her throat starts to close up and now she's breathing heavily, her knees feeling like giving up. Everything fades  even her brother still yelling her lover's name, echoing through the sky.

Its not possible

"Lizzie?" Her eyes snaps back to him as he take her in his arms. " Hey, please breathe for me sweetheart."

Sweetheart

"She— No, no, no. No she's not dead. She can't be dead."  Her tears pour out as she shakes her head frantically on Jim's chest. Jim was getting scared for that possibility but he, himself refuse to believe that. In desperation, Elizabeth pries herself away from Jim and ran yelling Shannon's name, away from them. The beach stretches for 23 miles and she was fast enough to get as far away as she can without being aware of it. She was too lost trying to find for her other half. She refuses to believe that the ocean might've had her already.

She reaches the rocky side of the beach where the waves are much stronger crashing into the huge rock formation. She hears her name being called but she ignores it, because she only has one purpose here and that is to find her girlfriend sand she won't stop until she had seen her. Her brother yells going for a run as he saw an upcoming huge wave about to crash on his sister's way.

"Lizzie, watch out!" He yells and that's when Elizabeth turns just to be pulled by Trent just in time for the wave to hit her. "God damn it! Can you fucking settle down! You're going to make yourself hurt." Trent yells and Elizabeth breathes heavily, not because of the fact that she was about to get hit by a wave but the various scenario playing in her head. Its concerning, her chest tightens with every breath she releases, her fingers are starting to get fuzzy and knees about to give up so she held on Trent's arm for support.

Panic attack.

"I think you need a time out." Trent says as he holds her stroking her back to calm her down, but what he said didn't help at all, Elizabeth shakes her head once again pushing herself away from her brother and mutters,

"I need to find her." Trent pulls his sister again holding her by the shoulders. He was getting annoyed with her stubbornness. He fully understands what was going on and how Elizabeth must be feeling right now, but she can't let her risk her life too. "Liz, come on"

"I have to find her." Elizabeth looks up to him, strong emotions in her eyes. Fear, grief, loss and the slightest bit of hope, its never he had seen before all at once. "Trent, she can't be dead. She won't do that to me. She needs me right now and I have to be there. I have to see her cause if I don't—" Her lips tremble and a sob escapes from her mouth with a new set of tears pouring down her face, holding onto Trent's chest for some support.

"We will." Trent whispers, his voice with a hint of doubt. "Just please, be safe, be present. I can't lose you Elizabeth." Then they hear it. A call for help, faint, almost there. So they kept quiet just to hear it once again, a bit louder this time. Hearts beating loudly from both of their chest, Elizabeth pushes her self from Trent's grip and ran to the other side of the huge rock separating the beach even before a wave hits it again.

"Ahh, someone please!" Elizabeth stops at the familiar voice. The heavy weight in her chest melts instantly and washed away with relief. Complete relief.

"Shannon?" She whispers almost to herself her head snapping to the side and there she is.

There she is.

"Honey! Trent, She's here!" She yells breaking into tears as she rushes towards her but was alarmed at the state of her. Everything fades again and just ringing on her ears. Blood soaks her jeans and the used to be white shirt she always wears. She has a huge gash on her forehead where the little scar used to sit and a deep cut on her cheek. Her right eye is bruised pretty badly.

"Oh my—Jesus!" Trent and Jim rushes to them. "Blu call someone!" Jim shouts and he did taking his phone and calling for rescue still in a state of shock on what he just witnessed.

"Shannon, do you here me? Honey." Elizabeth says her voice trembling as she gently holds Shannon's face to make her look at her but Shannon just cries out in pain.

"I—I can't stand." She struggles to say through her tears trying to move. Elizabeth's eyes snaps to her leg, and its looking limp with a dark blood spot on her jeans by the knee down to feet. Her eyes then moves up and saw blood by her ribs so she slowly raises her shirt revealing a dark bruise where her ribs are  and cuts all over her abdomen and it was scaring her more than she could ever imagine thinking what the hell happened to her.

"Shan its Dad, can you hear me? We got you, help is on the way. Blu!" Jim yells and Blu comes rushing in. Settling down his bag beside him and taking out a first aid kit and says.

"Help is on the way, its a long way down here so its going to be a while so we just have to do what we can to keep her awake." Trent steps aside to give Blu some space to work on. Elizabeth refuses to leave and kept her arms around Shannon to reassure her because Shannon is in panic at the moment.

"Hey hey, its okay, okay baby. I'm here." She whispers against her head over and over again whispering sweet nothings to her, the adrenaline still pumping in her system.

Blu snips off the fabric of her jeans revealing a deep wound near her knee and the way it looks like, its sure to say that its dislocated. Elizabeth looks away and Shannon shuts her eyes gripping on Elizabeth's arm too hard as Blu tries to gently clean it off a bit.

"This is going to be painful but we need to lift your leg up a bit, okay. Trent, Jim can you help me up please." Shannon breathes out heavily having her strength on the verge of being worn out already. "Alright on the count of three, you two slowly and gently lift it up a little, just enough for me to wrap it up."

The two men did what they were instructed to do and on the count of three, Shannon breathes in a sharp breath as her leg was gently raised turning her head and burying it on Elizabeth's chest as she pulls her closer. Elizabeth places soft kisses on top of Shannon's head to somehow reassure her even though she herself can't even handle what was happening right now.

After dressing up Shannon's leg, still blood starting to stain the white bandage, Blu goes to her other wounds and as time passes by Shannon was getting more and more exhausted it was making her slip in and out of consciousness. Elizabeth kept her on track, wakes her up every time she closes her eyes afraid she'll completely slip off the moment she dozes off.

"Honey, you need to stay awake. You hear me? I need you to stay awake." Shannon shakes her head and cries dropping her head on Elizabeth's shoulder.

"I—I can't" She bits her lip hearing this, tears spilling from her eyes. "I'm tired."

"No, no you're okay honey, just a little bit longer helpis on the way." Shannon breathes out.

"What happened?" Jim whispers his voice shakes as he takes in her daughter's state. Shannon tries to remember what happened but all she sees was water dragging her out of the shore as she felt a sharp pain hit her right side of her body and her muffled screams under water, pain numbing her body and then nothing.

"Here!" Men rushes towards Shannon with a stretcher in their hands settling down to the ground beside her. Elizabeth was forced out of the way and having to let go of Shannon brings back that pain in her chest. Trent takes her in his arms as Shannon's pain sounded in the air while they lift her up and lay her down on the stretcher and as soon as she was settled, she rushes to her again, holding her hand.

"Elizabeth?" Shannon whispers through her oxygen mask and hearing her say her name again made Elizabeth's tears pour down as she lets out a sad smile. By this time, Shannon had calm down but to weak to figure out what is real or not. "A-Are you real?"

"Yes," Tears of joy spilled through those green eyes and Shannon seems to manage a small smile hearing that. That was enough for her. "You're going to be okay honey, just stay with us."

"I'm sorry" It was barely a whisper but its all she can manage to say. Its her body, all too familiar. She knows something's up. ———————-Shannon's P.O.V.Waves, cold ocean breeze, warm black sand underneath my feet, dark skies and the ocean of stars blinking at me all at the same time.

I don't know how I got here. I have no memory of it. I don't have anything with me and I'm so confused. I don't actually know where I am. The last thing I remember was me driving to Robbie's house and the rest of it was all a blur. A think a fog replaced my memory of it.

But I'm somehow glad that I'm here. Peace, quiet, no shouting or yelling or screaming or flashbacks hitting me every single time I looked at something. Its all quite tiring, to be honest. But here, I'm here. Just me and the wind. Its beautiful and I wish Elizabeth was here so we can enjoy this scene. Somewhere we can call another sanctuary since I may seem to be the only one here.

I've been sat here for quite sometime or maybe too long, the sun has set and now the sky is in complete darkness with only the moon illuminating it and not so far, dark grey clouds and the sound of a storm approaches.

Its time to go. I need to get home. Elizabeth might be wondering where I was and I can't wait to go home to tell her about this. I know she would be probably mad about how the hell did I get here and why didn't I called her. The thing is when I said I don't remember how I got here and even before that, I really don't have a single fucking clue about it because then I realized, I've got nothing with me. No money, or even a phone or my keys, or my car. I don't remember where I left it. Maybe there's someone in town who I can talk to and help me.

A thunder sounded again and rain starts to pour hard soaking my clothes in an instant.

'Fuck' I mutter to myself as I rush through the shoreline. It wasn't getting any better so I ran fast hoping to beat the rain but then as I ran further everything is already dark and its hard to see through the pouring rain and that's when it happened.

A strong wave crashes me to a rock causing pain al throughout my body. It was an unbearable pain then I felt completely nothing not even the ocean dragging me with it and the moment that my lungs gave up and everything just went pitch black.—————Beep beep

Voices, soft hands, too many voices, sound of machines. I squeezed the hand I was holding and it froze.

"Shan" It was muffled. "Call the doctors". Elizabeth? I struggle to open my eyes. It was heavy and hard especially my right one but I managed to do it and all I see is white.

What happened?

"Honey, can you hear me?" Her voice getting clearer as I blink, adjusting my vision to the light, its hurting my eyes. I tried to speak but my throat was dry, too dry it hurts as well. Is it the oxygen mask, God I need something to drink. Before I could even get a glimpse of her face, voices started coming in and now a sudden flash of light goes into my eyes, I winced. Who the fuck shines light in your fucking eyes. Damn

I blink again trying to adjust my vision and then I see my Mom, Dad and Casey at the edge of the bed, their attention on the doctor then Casey glances at me and smiles wiping her eyes. Then I see my right leg on a cast and still I don't remember what happened.

"Her vitals are good, but still we need to perform an MRI just to be sure because of the blow on her head.—" Her voice suddenly fades in my ear. I couldn't figure out what she's saying but I can see the nurses kept checking up on the monitors and still I can't move and my leg is on fire.

Eventually the doctors left and I still don't know what was going on so I squeezed the hand I'm holding and a beautiful face comes into view and I can't help but stare seeing the most beautiful person I have ever seen.

"Hi honey" She smiles as her eyes filled up with tears. "How're you feeling? You scared the shit out of me, did you know that?" My parents chuckled while Casey gives out a smirk. I open my mouth to speak but it still hurts, even breathing hurts me.

"Don't make it a habit Shan please." Dad says taking off his glasses and wipes of his eyes. Why are they here again?

"Hey, hey. Shan, what's going on?" She says aware that the heart monitor is beeping so fast and so as my heart does. I couldn't speak and ask her what the hell happened so instead she started placing soft kisses on my good hand to calm me down and its really working, Oh and did I mention that my right arm is on a sling too, safely hidden under a pile of cement. This is all too familiar really, Had this happened before?

Then there's a knock on the door and comes in people who I don't actually remember who they were, holding some flowers. and somehow maybe I'm seeing double because two of them looked exactly alike. There are too many people in the room now and I still don't know what happened to me and I'm pretty exhausted right now.

"About time you wake up sleeping beauty"One chuckles as she rushes to the bed followed by everyone.

"You got us all fucking terrified, don't you ever do that again." The tall man says, "and I just want to apologize. I'm really sorry bud, I put you on a hospital bed again."

"You did?" The first words I've ever spoken and they all smiled, saying that makes them smile, well that's odd. "Was I heavy? I'm sorry, I'm as tall as you are so maybe I was. I hope someone helped you with it."

Everyone was silent.

I felt the softest kiss on my temple then on my hand and the slightest touch on the back of my neck and that made my head slowly turn to the angel beside me. She's so beautiful, she shines magically, a bright light behind her. She giggles to the slightest bit because maybe I am smiling and if this is a hallucination, I'm loving every second of it, but I still don't know what happened to me.

"Hi, you're so beautiful. Have we met before? " It came out as hoarse but then it faded out everything around me, even her smile fades a little bit before releasing a soft chuckle. Her eyes takes me to a valley with green meadows, it was strong and gorgeous like jade or emerald, maybe a bit of both.

"Yea, I'm Elizabeth. I'm your girlfriend." Woah, I raised my brows in shock but winced at the sudden sharp pain in my forehead.

"Hey be careful." She whispers and I smiled just hearing that. "You're going to hurt yourself."

"You're my girlfriend?" I asked still not believing the fact that I have an angel as a girlfriend. She's the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen and she's my girlfriend. She smiles and chuckles nodding her head and that is just adorable. I stared at her taking in every detail of her and its breathtaking.

"What?" She asks

"I'm having an 'Oh Wow' moment. You are absolutely stunning" She giggles and wipes her eyes before placing a soft kiss on my cheek. I turn to my parents and they were watching us and the nurses were watching us.

"Did you know what happened to me? I really don't— I don't remember." She averts her eyes and looks somewhere else before looking back at me, her eyes glowing for the second time around.

"You've been missing for two days and we found you at the beach in Shelter Cove honey, you were injured pretty badly. You've been asleep for almost three days. Shan" The beach, When have I gone to the beach? She sighs and looks away again then asks.  "What do you remember Shan?"

I tried to think of something to say but my heads is so foggy at the moment, I couldn't get anything out of me. I don't even understand what's going on at the moment so I sighed and rest my head back gently and just stared at her again and she smiles showing a glimpse of her dimple.

"Oh God, get over it Shan."

"She's out of it."I hear someone says but I didn't bother to know who it was, I'm too busy admiring my girlfriend over here. She's just heaven.
