Chapter 9

05:37, 21 October 2016

John POV

We got to class with 2 minutes to spare. Alex and I took seats in the middle of the classroom. Behind us sat two guys who oddly looked like Hercules and Lafayette. They acted like them too. Loud and obnoxious. I decided that I didn't need to get involved with two more annoying people, so I tried to ignore them as much as I could. They were talking about every person who walked through the door."That guy in the red jacket. That's George. Thinks he's like the king or something," said the one that looked like Laf. The two of them continued to talk about people until Mr. Washington walked in. I looked over at Lex, just to find that he was looking at me two. I quickly turned away, blushing. God. I did that way too much. Just like outside with Eliza. The way he just spoke up and out of no where introduced himself. Honestly, it was kinda hot. He just took charge of that conversation. He was so cute."Okay class," Washington said as he cleared his throat. "Welcome to Law 1. I'm Mr. Washington. If this class doesn't belong to you, please take this time to correct your mistakes." I looked around and saw a man who looked oddly familiar stand up and leave. I heard Alex snicker, so I nudged him as to ask why. "You don't remember?" He laughed some more, causing me to smile. "He looks familiar." "John," Alex whispered. "That's the guys from the grocery store. The one riding the cart." It took me a second to process, but once my brain caught up, I couldn't help but laugh."Please quiet down. If you don't mind, I will be starting attendance now. If you hear your name please say here and raise your hand. Thank you." Trying to compose myself, I stifled a few laughs. Alex's face was bright red. He was holding in so many laughs that it looked like he was going to explode. "First, John Adams?" "Here." Immediately, the guys behind us snickered and started whispering. I hated them already, and I didn't even know their names. Mr Washington read a few more names off the roster. "Alexander Hamilton?" "Here, sir." More names. "Thomas Jefferson?" "Yup. Here," replied the Lafayette look-a-like behind me. Thomas Jefferson. It even sounded rude. "John Laurens?" "Here." I felt Alex's eyes on the side of my head, like he was trying to figure me out. Again, for probably the fifteenth time today, Alexander Hamilton caused me to blush."Stop doing that," I whispered in his direction."And what exactly is it that I am doing, Mr. Laurens?" I looked at him for a few seconds, not saying anything. Finally, in between names being called, I responded. "Making me blush." Just like that, Alex was speechless. His mouth opened a few times to say something, yet nothing came out. "James Madison," Mr. Washington called out. "Here, Mr. Washington." I turned around, observing the two men. There they were. Jefferson and Madison. I turned back around to see Alex's eyes still locked on me. At this point, I didn't know if he was doing it on purpose, or just didn't realize it. "You're doing it again," I whispered. He blushed. Revenge. Justice has been served. I smiled and put my attention back on the front of the room. Alex and I sat there for the rest of class, listening to Madison and Jefferson whisper, writing important things down and supplies for the year. "Tomorrow, one of the upperclassmen majoring in Law, Aaron Burr, will be coming in to talk to you guys about his experience in this class. Remember to get the supplies needed. If there are no questions, you are dismissed. Thank you." Alex and I got up, gathering our stuff. "I like him. He seems like a good teacher," Alex said to me as we walked out of class. "Yeah but those Jefferson and Madison guys are a pain." "Agreed." We laughed for a bit, then went our separate ways to go to our next classes. As soon as he was gone, I missed Lex already. The rest of the day would be really long.

(A/N: kind of a filler just to develop more characters and the school day more. It's late and I wanted to give you guys a chapter 9, so i whipped this bad boy out. 732 words. Anyway. Goodnight and thanks for reading my story!!)

I love you.

One more day. See where it gets you.

If it matters, let it matter.

Still love you🌹💛
