Chapter 15: The Employee in Minder Owls

     Being accompanied by the high-ranked sequence 4 Beyonder Connor Viltrugis, they arrived at the establishment of the building of SID. Also known as the Special Investigation Department. An investigation agency in the upfront. But it was a special division of the church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom called the Minder Owls.

As they arrived at the building, they were welcomed quite 'enthusiastically' by some members of the special group. They have a smile on their faces and there was a girl who was grinning and trembling as they greeted Mister Connor.

Yareth decided to hide the moment that he saw the girl's smile. The girl despite shaking and trembling doesn't look nervous. She was smiling and grinning. In a very wide and creepy way.

" Welcome Mister Connor, we apologize if the Captain isn't here to welcome you at our door. "

" I am not bothered by it. In fact, should I ask if he just recently told you about my visitation? "

 " Well, Captain Victor forgot them and told us recently causing some of our members to panic! "

" I see. "

" Please come in Mister Connor! "

One of the people who was waiting ushered Mister Connor inside. That's when they notice him. All of them look towards Yareth who was currently in his disguise as Heinz Von Jaeger a 15-year-old student at the academy of wisdom and knowledge. He was hiding behind Mister Conner who was tall and has an impressive stature. And by wearing his coats on, it would be easy for him to not be seen by them.

All of them are looking at Yareth with curiosity. A man in his early 20s with very messy hair and who didn't even shave his beard looked at Yareth and Mister Conner with curiosity and doubt.

" So, whose this Mister Connor? A customer? What would he need help with us? Is he involved in some kind of accident? He appears to be fine. No injury or didn't appear to suffer in any trauma. Did he need us to help him find something— "

Yareth felt that he can't keep up with the man's words. On the other hand, Mister Connor just looks at the man with a stoic face. Thankfully his blabbering didn't last long because someone chopped his neck on his back. The messy and blabbering man dropped on the front door unconscious.

Yareth looks at the scene in shock. He doesn't know if he should say something or drop his mouth shut. He look at the culprit and saw the person smiling at him and Mister Conner. The other members didn't raise much fuss as their fellow members dropped unconscious on the ground. They appear to be nonchalant.

" I'm sorry for Thomas's rudeness Mister Connor. And could I ask your name? "

" .... I am Heinz Von Jaeger. A recent student at the Academy of Wisdom and Knowledge. "

The man's smile becomes more bright and pleasant. Just like the friendly receptionist, this man was making Yareth uncomfortable.

" I see, I hope that your studies are going well. Anyway, my name is Jon. And this unconscious blabbermouth there on the ground is Thomas. He was the one responsible for fixing things in our agency. "

Yareth nodded his head slightly.

" And we have our smiling and friendly receptionist Rebecca. "

Jon pointed at the girl that welcomed Mister Connor earlier. Yareth thought that her smile is very disturbing.

" And lastly, here is our Agency's treasurer. "

Jon pointed to the girl beside Lena. She looks decent and nice. Her hair is tied in a single bun. Looking professional like the receptionist beside her that has a disturbing smile on her face. Yareth then glance at the person that wasn't mentioned. He has his eyes covered so he didn't see much of the guy.

" Welcome to our Agency! Thomas needed to become unconscious since he wouldn't stop talking when he started talking. Nothing would stop him except being unconscious. "

At that, Jon made a chop gesture. Instinctively, Yareth can feel the back of his neck feel cold all of a sudden. He decided to move closer to Mister Connor. And he looks at the high sequence Beyonder. Yareth has a clue on why did Mister Conner bring him to this place. He just didn't expect that this certain division of the church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom is full of strange people.

After a bit of chattering between the members and the one person who wasn't mentioned and just staying silently in the background, they have finally let them in the building.

A 3-floor structure. He and Mister Connor are guided in the room where they received their clients and customers. It was the reception room.

Yareth and Mister Conner sat on the chair. The former couldn't help but look around. There are a lot of bookshelves, desks, chairs, and papers around. He could also smell the ink. There were plants and flowers on a pot serving as a decoration. Rebecca, their receptionist was sitting on a chair while she was leaning on a desk while reading a book. Mister Connor was sitting beside him silently.

While waiting, Yareth has seen a glimpse of three other people. They weren't with Jon and the others waiting at them at the door. 2 ladies and 1 man. All of them are looking at Mister Connor nervously. They were carrying a bunch of papers and books with them. They instantly scampered away when Mister Connor stared at them for a moment.

Finally, a few minutes later, a man was walking towards them. He was staring at him and Mister Conner with his half-lidded eyes and yawning.

" Mister Connor, it's nice to.. see you. "

The man then yawned and sit at the chair opposite to them in a reclining position. He brought his legs on the table much to Yareth's surprise. This man appears to be their captain. Just like most of the members that he has seen in the group, he was also eccentric.

" Victor. "

" So.. what it is that you need me and my agency for this kid? "

The captain who was named Victor asked them. He looks bored and uninterested. He doesn't even appear to compose or tidy up himself in front of the high-ranking Beyonder. Overall, he was carefree and nonchalant. And he was also sipping a tea.

But the next moments, his nonchalant and lazy attitude disappeared when Mister Connor said his next words.

" This brat beside me is Heinz Von Jaeger. Take care of him. He was one of the Archbishop's Grandson. Specifically, Archbishop Alvis.  "

If Yareth was sipping any liquid like the lazy Captain, he would already spat it out. Or choked on any food that he would be eating. Since he knows the truth and Mister Connor just spits out a big load of lies. But looking at the nearly choked expression of the captain, Victor appeared to believe the lies of Mister Connor.
