Chapter 2: Brianna's Gifting ceremony And Mirabel's

Brianna's POV

When I woke up I was so excited I ran into Tio Bruno which made me fall down as I looked at him and giggled "Oh! Brianna are you okay? What's the rush kiddo" he helped me up and looked at me

"Nothing Tio, Im just excited-... Wait! Did you see what my gift is tio?" I asked excited as I focused on his facial expression, he laughed and patted my head as I pouted. "Tiooo!" I whined as he shook his head.

"Sorry kiddo no can do, I didn't look at your prophecy of today just expect the best" he simply said then went to his room.

Later that day

I was dressed for the night by Mami, It was a cute white dress the reached my knees and my hair is tied up like a bun. Dolores said I look cute in my dress as I thought the same thing! I was both nervous and excited as today is the day I get my special gift! I've been thinking of it lately maybe it can be seeing wayyy far like the opposite of Dolores' gift, Btw her gift is hearing from a mile away or maybe more! "Mami I'm scared" I mumbled as I played with my fingers, Mami smiled at me, Her lovely smiles is always the best.

"Why my little sunshine?" She asked me kneeling at my height, I was still small. Of course because I'm only 5 duhh. I fiddled with my fingers.

"Well what If they don't like my gift? O-or I hurt someone.. I don't wanna hurt someone Mami" I looked at her worried at disasters that may happen if I get such a strong gift that I can't handle, I would rather stay in my room all my life.

"Aw don't be scared sis, I know what you feel but it's alright! No gift can harm people, You will learn to control it." Dolores peeked in the nursery as I giggled, she had been listening to our conversation. She always does.

"Dolores is right Brianna, No gift will harm anyone" Mami said smiling and fixing my hair. I built up my confidence as I stood straight with a big smile.

"Okay Mami, I'm ready" I said more confident than ever, Today is the day. I will get my gift.

Uh-oh I'm here. The lights focused on me, mi familia looking at me. I walked forward as my hands are infront of me as I smiled walking towards the stairs. Up the stairs and infront of the shiny gold door, Abuella stood with the candle as I looked at it mesmerized at it shining bright as Abuella moved it close to me to reach it. I touched it then smiled at Abuella before walking towards the door. I looked at Mami and Papi as they shoot me encouraging smiles as I looked at the door knob and moved my hands to it. IT GLOWED BRIGHT. I gasped amazed as It shown my face and my name as I giggled. I felt a sensation in my hands and I touched the door frame and it turned Ice. WAIT! I MADE IT TO ICE!? It's my gift!

Many people of the town cheered as Abuella announced my gift was Ice as I opened my door seeing a large room that is almost made of Ice and snow a bed in the middle of the room and many more things that I still have to discover. Mami and Papi greeted me with hugs and kisses as I got my gift, The good thing is I didn't freeze them, Thank goodness. Everyone partied that day as we celebrated before we are tired enough to call it a day and all visitors went to separate rooms. Me, Dolores and prima Isabella stayed in my room as we giggled and talked about that day before we all slept at my huge bed.

THREE YEARS LATER

(8 yrs old) Brianna's POV

I stood up and yawned as I woke up 7:30 in the morning and fixed my fluffy bed before going to the bathroom brushing my teeth and combing my hair as I changed my pajamas to my usual clothing, A dress that almost reaches the floor and a cape with a hood but I only put my hood up when it's raining, I wore my special glove just in case I turn someone or something into Ice without knowing.

I walked out my room heading to the kitchen as the windows of Casita waved At Me. "Hello Casita" I greeted our lovely house, I mean Casita. I saw Tia Julieta already cooking in the kitchen "Hola Tia, Good morning" I greeted her with a smile as I poured myself a cup of hot cocoa. She turned to me as she was rubbing her hands with her towel after she washed the dishes.

"Morning Mija, had a good sleep?" She puts some bread in the table which I gladly took one as I ate while drinking.

"As usual yes tia, Where's Mami and Papi?" I asked taking a sip on my drink which is now a bit warm, clearly the cold from my hands still reached my hot cup. Great. "I thought they're here already as they usually get up at this time of the morning" I added.

"Apparently they slept in Brianna" she said turning back to her baking stuffs. I just shrugged it off as I finished my food and put my cup in the sink washing it. With a rubber gloves over my other glove to not make the water freeze. "Can you wake up the others Mija? They still have chores to do in town" Tia Julieta asked as I nodded and turned off the water, Taking off the rubber glove then walking up the stairs.

I knocked once at Dolores' door, three times at Prima Luisa's, And three times at Prima Isabella too, Cause I know at those knocks they would wake up, I walked to Camilo's door then knocked five times "Camilo wake up" I said a bit loud so he can hear from inside his weird room. I know he won't stand up until it's atleast 8 am so I moved on to the nursery where I walked in instead of knocking "Mirabeeell" I cooed as I pulled off her blanket as she flinched at the light, I giggled "Wake up today is the big day, your getting your gift" I shook her a bit. As she reached for her glasses as I gave it to her. "Really?" She asked me excitedly with her cute little voice as I smiled and nodded. She jumped on her bed chanting "I'm getting my gift today! I'm getting my gift today!" I giggled but hushed her, If tia hears her she might get scolded. "Shh, Don't be so loud Mirabel, Let's go to the kitchen and get you some milk" I held her hand as she jumped off her bed and followed me down the stairs as I saw the others going down.

"Race you down there Prima Brianna!" Mirabel squealed and ran down the stairs before I could say no she and Isabella fell down the stairs as Prima Isabella was making some flower ties and it was crushed to pieces as Mirabel sat on it as she fell. Good thing they were at the end they didn't got hurt but when I reached them with a worried face, Isabella was glaring at Mirabel as she held her broken flower ties.

"Look what you have done Mirabel! If you weren't so clumsy my flower ties would've been finished!" Isabella yelled at Mirabel as the poor girl was on the floor, I helped Mirabel up and turned to Isabella.

"Isa it was an accident" I tried to reason with her but she just glared daggers at Mirabel and walked off. I noticed Mirabel was crying as she glared at Isabella's direction as I wiped her tears. "Mirabel calm down it's alright" I smiled and hugged her as she and I walked to the kitchen and I gave her a glass of milk. Mirabel and Isabella don't really get along like Dolores and me but I bet they will love each other someday.

Later that day

I was helping with the decorations when they were preparing the ceremony as we all finished it after sunset. Now we are standing under the stairs case watching little Mirabel walk on her spotlight towards her door, She and Abuella are really the closest among all of us grandchild's. Well it feels like Mirabel is really special than any of us. I waited until she touched the candle then I noticed she had a slight pause before touching her door. All was silent waiting for it to show Mirabel's face and name with her gift but that time didn't came.

The door suddenly disappeared. Faded from its place and the candle's light turned down.. all people can do is gasp and whisper as Mirabel looked at us helplessly, Then bit by bit everyone went out. What was happening? Why didn't Mirabel get a gift and her door? This isn't what is suppose to happen. I saw Mirabel ran to the nursery room and shut her door from the embarrassment as us grandchild's were also shock, Our parents sent us to our rooms. I was worried for Mirabel.

All night I just look up my ceiling thinking what happened and what's wrong with the candle not giving Mirabel a gift. She DESERVES a gift. She is the most amazing kid I have as family. Don't get me wrong I love everyone in my family it just doesn't feel right that Mirabel don't get her gift and door.
