Chapter 8
08:37, 26 May 2018Sengoku looked around those gathered in the meeting room. His calculating eye taking in the present shichibukai: Mihawk, Kuma, Moriah, Blackbeard, and Doflamingo. Sengoku spoke, "What is word on Boa Hancock?"
"Hancock-dono still hasn't given her answer, Sengoku-sama." A nearby marine recalled to his boss.
Sengoku folded his arms, a deep frown on his face. "Not good enough." His eyes landed on the man sitting beside him. His broad frame and the murderous look in his eye had Sengoku worried. He couldn't afford the boy to lash out. "You don't need to be here, Cal." He said to the agitated boy.
Cal's bulging muscles tensed as he folded his arms. Steam came out of his mouth as he breathed out. "It is necessary. Master has ordered it." His gleaming red eyes darted to the pirates in the room and growled audibly.
"Oi oi put a leash on your pet, Sengoku." Doflamingo laughed. Tossing an apple in his hands as his maniacal grin stayed on his place when Cal aimed his growl at him. "Don't want him gobbling us up. I've heard all about the uncontrollable bloodlust of the demon-users."
Cal slammed his hand on the table and stood. His bulging body pushing at the marine next to him and Sengoku.
"That's enough!" Sengoku ordered. "Cal control yourself or leave."
Cal huffed and sat back down. His piercing red eyes never leaving Doflamingo. "When the time comes, you'll be the first person I rip apart."
Doflamingo only laughed.
Mihawk had kept his eye on the demon-user in the room. His eyes were the same shade as Nana though his were more wild and violent. Mihawk was glad he left Pumpkin somewhere safe. The cub would've undoubtedly been scared in the presence of powerful people.
Sengoku sighed and tossed each the shichibukai members a folder. "With the execution of fire fist Ace there's the chance Whitebeard will attack to get him back." Sengoku opened his folder and sighed when Cal growled again, "What's gotten into you?" He looked to the bloodthirsty demon and didn't like the grin on his face. "What?" Sengoku followed his direction to the door, wondering what he was sensing.
"She's here." Cal hissed and stood up once more. "She smells wonderful." He took in a deep breath and the marines in the room moved away from the table as a dark aura started to pour out of the large man.
"Cal!" Sengoku shouted and stood up. "Control yourself!" Sengoku looked to the door, wondering what the hell was out there. "It can't be Hancock. She's far away from here." Sengoku started to hear the shouts behind the large doors and pulled the receiver of the nearest denden mushi. "Oi What is going on out there?!" Only to hear more shouts, screams and gunshots. "Don't tell me Whitebeard..."
The shichibukai all looked to the door in interest as the fighting outside grew louder. None of them moved though Doflamingo moved to the middle of the table. Curious as to what was making its way to them.
"Sengoku!" A booming female voice shouted just behind the doors. "Show yourself!"
Mihawk's eyes widened at the familiar voice. "She wouldn't be stupid to show up here." He felt his muscles tense when the doors broke open and clenched his fists. "That idiot!" His eyes picked up on Nana's outstretched leg that kicked in the door. Her flying hair and dress flowing wildly as unconscious men laid all around her. The rage in her eyes had Mihawk tilting his hat a bit more to cover his eyes. Her attire didn't go unnoticed by him. It suited the demon woman.
Sengoku choked at the sight of the woman before him. "You!" Sengoku quickly grabbed the back of Cal's shirt to keep him in place. "You are forbidden from coming near any government building! Nana!"
"You broke the rules first." Nana hissed as she lowered her leg and slammed the door shut behind her. Effectively shutting those chasing her out. "I've tried calling you. Even setting up a meeting and each time I kept getting turned down or rejected. Understand, I was trying to be civilised." Nana approached the table slowly. Grabbing a marine's head when he tried to attack her. Nana looked into the man's eyes with a terrifying force. "Don't get in my way, scum." Tightening her grip on the man's head till he was screaming.
"Release him!" Sengoku yelled. "You swore not to spill blood in my presence." He cursed when she set her haunting gaze on him.
"That was a long time ago, Sengoku. I'm a changed woman." Nana tossed the man to the side and approached once more. "You've got something I want." She hissed and slammed her hands on the table and leaned forward. "Give it to me and I swear I won't attack during your plans."
Sengoku gripped his teeth and threw Cal back into his seat. "What makes you think I'll give it to you? Storming onto government grounds and fighting my men as you please. I'll have you executed for your crimes, Roseate 'the trickster fox' Nana! You're the definition of betrayal."
Mihawk hid his surprise at her nickname. He had heard rumours of an unknown beauty weaseling her way into powerful peoples' lives before, cutting them down and disappearing before anyone could catch her. Her crimes appeared suddenly and disappeared just as quick before turning into a legend over the years.
Nana leaned back and folded her arms under her bust. "Oh it's been some time since I've heard that name. I've almost forgotten it. Though that life was quite short run I don't see why it's still around. Don't forget, you're the reason for that name." Nana felt a sharp heat on her and gazed to the hulking beast beside Sengoku and instantly narrowed her eyes on the mirrored eyes. "I see you've gotten busy in the meantime."
"I can't wait to taste your blood." Cal huffed out as he eyed the curvaceous woman.
"Watch your tone, brat!" Nana shouted as a powerful presence engulfed the room. Settling heavily on the government demon. Her hair flew around her frame wildly as she forced her bloodlust on the akuma.
Sengoku gritted his teeth as the shichibukai were rooted to their seats. He knew they weren't going to help. "Enough!" Sengoku shouted and immediately Nana reeled back. "What do you want, Nana?" He asked through clenched teeth. He couldn't afford to have another demon here. Especially one capable of destroying Marineford.
Nana looked back to Sengoku calmly. "I want to see him. You won't give him to me so at least let me see him. You can cuff me right now if you so wish and escort me with whoever to see him. I'll leave straight after and you won't ever see me again."
Sengoku didn't believe her words. "Nana," he leaned forward and looked down into her blood eyes. "You're a known traitor. I could say no and kill you right here and now."
Nana smirked, unafraid. "I told you before I tried to see you civilly and talk about this like adults." She held her hands up, wrists touching. "Say no and I'll kill everyone man, woman, child, and elderly civilian you have living on Marineford. You, more than anyone else, knows how much I love the blood of innocent people." Nana leaned up and whispered in his ear, "It was your orders that ended those lives, Sen~go~ku~chan." Nana pulled back and giggled at his pale expression. "Don't forget that you came to me for help and threatened my family." Her eyes hardened just as her expression did. "The only reason this damn place is standing is because of him. Don't make me change my mind."
Sengoku pinched the bridge of his nose tiredly. "Doflamingo! Kuma!" He called to the two shichibukai. "Someone call Kizaru and cuff the demon! I'm only giving you ten minutes with him and then I want you gone! If you cross my path again, Kitsune, I'll strike you down where you stand with all the forces of the Navy!"
Nana held her hands together and didn't fight when one of the marines came over with seastone cuffs. She grin victoriously up a Sengoku and bowed mockingly. "Always a pleasure doing business with you."
"Follow me." Kuma stood and gestured for the woman to follow him.
Nana followed the giant bear out of the room. Looking over her shoulder at the other demon. She didn't like the look in his eyes. Whatever the government had done to him was beyond repair and Nana swore she would kill him when the time came. Nana's view of the akuma was blocked off by Doflamingo which led Nana to crane her neck all the way to look up at the tall man. She felt this sinister energy as he looked down at her with his wide grin.
"You're a brave little thing." Doflamingo said as he waddled beside Nana. "To even allow yourself to be bound is what a dead man walking would do." He laughed and stretched his arms out wide.
"In the end we all die." Kuma muttered as he held his Bible close.
Nana looked straight ahead as she felt a powerful man behind her and paused. Nana turned and saw Mihawk standing there and could read the confusion and annoyance in his eyes. "Shichibukai-sama." Nana said coldly.
Mihawk stepped and grabbed her cheeks between his fingers. "What are you planning, Little Red?" He asked the closed-off woman. The fake her had surfaced and Mihawk still wasn't sure how to handle this side of her. She was playing a dangerous game and he couldn't protect her when she willing walked into the enemy's territory.
Nana smirked and leaned her face up to the swordsman. "Didn't you hear Sengoku? I'm a trickers - runs in my blood. I'll kill everyone of those people that get in the way. He plans to have Kizaru kill me after my meeting." Nana laughed bitterly, "But you know what else they say about foxes? They're good at slipping away."
Doflamingo laughed, "Oh what is this? The anti-social man has a friend. What news." Doflamingo slapped Mihawk's hand away and wrapped an arm around Nana. "No touching now, Hawkman. We've got a job to do."
Nana shrugged the tall man off her and leaped up onto Kuma's shoulder. Deciding to rest there as they walked away. Nana kept her eyes glued to Mihawk's and mouthed to him, "Take care of Pumpkin."
Mihawk caught her soft gaze aimed at him and clenched his fists. He knew what she was implying. They were going to be on the opposite sides of the upcoming war and she didn't plan on coming home.
Nana watched as Mihawk's figure disappeared from her sight before saying out loud. "That akuma."
"Yes he's a dangerous weapon." Kuma spoke, "Unstable would explain him more effectively."
"I see." Nana glanced up to the prepared warship. "I'm going to escape afterwards. I'd be nice to fight you on the battlefield than in a dank prison."
Doflamingo laughed as he followed the two up into the ship. "I agree! We could always team up, fox lady." He offered and laughed when she declined his offer. "Maah I'll find other ways to have a demon." he commented offhandedly.
"Nobody will be obtaining demons." A lazy and slow voice cut the trio off as Kizaru appeared in a bright light. His loopy eyes rested on the relaxed demon on Kuma's shoulder and commented, "Oh Aokiji would love to see a beautiful woman like you. He likes big bottom women."
Nana felt her brow twitch at the Admiral's words. Having to wait till Doflamingo and Kumo were cuffed in seastone before setting off. Preparing the three before they entered Impel down.
