Chapter 1

Blake sat in her living room, thinking, wondering, contemplating. She never thought she would make it this far, nor did she imagine she'd be alive. She had survived physically, not mentally. Her mind was lost in that cornucopia. It's hiding in a box with weapons and family members. Blake wanted it all to be over. She was done replaying everyone's death and the games. Finnick Odair was right, it's better to die in the arena than win the games. She would never be the same. Even if she did die, she would wonder if the world would still be under the cruel conditions of President Snow. Blake's trickery got her out of "special activities". She didn't want to end up like Johanna Mason, or Finnick Odair. Blake didn't want to be trapped and controlled by the capitol. Her mind saved her entire family and friends, but it had consequences. She was able to blackmail the President, no one else was so successful like her. When Katniss' and Peeta's games had happened, it made the capitol realize how weak they really were. The capitol never liked to play fair; they only played for the advantage, to keep them in line. She remembers her games, the torture it was. It's more of a nightmare after the games than it is in the games.
