ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย "Hey, Cass?" Rue questioned glaring at the blonde Howard sister.
"Yeah?"
"I have a quick question for you."
"What?" She asked naively.
"How long have you been fucking Nate Jacobs?"
"Wh-what, what, what are you talking about?" Cassie laughed nervously as everyone looked between her and Adaline.
"How long have you been fucking Nate?" Rue repeated her question.
"I'm not." Cassie shook her head trying not to let her tears fall. She could feel everyone's eyes on her. "What? I'm not."
"What are you talking about?" Maddy wondered looking between Cassie, Adaline, and Rue. She was trying to figure out why Adaline didn't seem surprised by what Rue had just said.
"Oh, I just... I, I saw her get in his truck, and then, kiss him and drive off." Rue shrugged nonchalantly. "That was, like, what, like, uh...like a month ago?"
"Uh...are you kidding me?" Maddy exclaimed glaring at the blonde.
"Uhh. Cass, that's, like... really bad." Kat mumbled from beside Adaline.
"You're fucking Nate? Are you kidding me?" Maddy seethed. She couldn't believe that Cassie would do that to her or Adaline.
"No, I... I don't even know why she would say that." Cassie stuttered looking at everyone in the room before looking back at Rue. "You're lying!"
"Yeah, can we just table this conversation?" Leslie sighed.
"Okay, let's go..." Suze cut in trying to calm down Maddy.
"No, no. You expect us to stand here next to our best friend who's been lying to us about fucking our ex-boyfriend and her baby daddy!" Maddy screamed gesturing between herself and Adaline. "I'm literally gonna get violent."
"Okay, no. There is no need to get violent, okay, because we are having an intervention!" Suze exclaimed trying once again to calm everyone down.
Adaline just stood there watching Maddy scream in Cassie's face as Kat and Suze tried to stop her. She knew she should be there next to Maddy but she couldn't find it in herself to care at the moment.
"Stop it! I'm beggin' you. Let's just get into the car." Leslie cried still trying to convince her daughter to go with her. Adaline decided to try and help convince Rue, after all that's what she came here for.
"Mom... I can't." Rue sobbed.
"This could be good for you Rue." Adaline said getting the curly haired girl's attention.
"I can't do it Addie." Rue continued to cry. "I'm sorry."
"Please Rue! Just think about it. Think about how much happier you'll be." Adaline pleaded. "Do it for your mom and Gia."
"I can't! I can't!"
"I want my baby to meet her auntie Rue Rue but she won't be able to do that if you keep going down this path." Adaline said honestly. She knew for a fact that Nate wouldn't let Rue be around their daughter if she was on drugs. And Adaline wouldn't fight him on it either. She knew Rue would never hurt her baby but she couldn't have her around a drug addict.
Adaline hadn't been paying attention to the conversation that was going on behind her until she heard Cassie yell.
"I don't even know why you're believing her. She's a drีฝg addict."
"Shut the fuck up Cassie!" Adaline screamed turning around to face the blonde. She had finally had it with her.
Cassie gulped nervously as she looked at Adaline's angry face. She knew the brunette could be a bitch when she was mad.
"How long have you been fucking him?" Maddy questioned. "Be honest."
"Maddy, let's just do it later." Kat sighed holding Maddy back in case she tried to hit Cassie.
"Kat, shut the fuckk up!" The Perez girl snarled pushing the short haired girl away from her. "How long have you been fucking him?"
"Since New Years." Adaline replied for the blonde. Everyone tuned to her shocked.
"You knew?" Maddy asked still seething.
"I told you Nate cheated on me." Adaline laughed bitterly. "Just didn't know it was with her until recently."
"It was you!" Maddy exclaimed glaring at Cassie. "Oh! You dumb fucking bitch! I'm gonna fuck you up!" Maddy screamed charging for the blonde who quickly ran up the stairs. "Don't fuckin' run away from me, you stupid fucking bitch!"
Cassie, Maddy, and Kat all ran up the stairs past Rue. The Bennet girl took this as her opportunity to run down the stairs and out the front door.
"Shit!" Adaline cursed as she noticed Rue slip out the door.
"Goddammit!" Leslie huffed in defeat.
"I'm so sorry." Adaline apologized to Rue's mother.
"It's not your fault Addie." The woman sighed. "I know what you said meant something to her."
Adaline nodded sadly as she watched Leslie exit the house. She could hear the woman shouting for her daughter as she walked to her car. It broke Adaline's heart to see Rue like that.
"Addie?" Lexi spoke from behind the girl.
"It's fine Lex." Adaline smiled not looking Lexi in the eye. She knew if she did all she would see is pity.
"I'm sorry for what Cassie did."
"Don't be." The brunette shook her head. "You're not the one in love with Nate."
"I know but what she did isn't okay." Lexi trailed off looking at Adaline's stomach. She never thought her sister would stoop so low.
"Seriously Lex, don't worry about it." Adaline smiled. "I don't have a problem with you. You're still my best friend and you always will be."
"I love you." Lexi grinned hugging the Kingston girl tightly.
"I love you too." She said back. "I have to go now. I don't really want to be around the drama any longer."
"Of course." Lexi nodded leading the girl to the door. "Please text me so I know you got home safe."
"Okay." Adaline mumbled leaving the house. As she sat in her car she couldn't help the sobs that escaped from her mouth. She was silently praying that everything would be okay. She just wanted to go back in time to where she was happy and didn't have to worry about anything.
When Adaline arrived back home she noticed that the pee had finally been cleaned up. There was no longer any loud music playing and Marsha wasn't in the kitchen dancing. She sighed thankful that she at least didn't have to deal with that tonight.
"You're home?" Nate stated walking in from the garage. Adaline could tell that he had just gotten done working out. He was in nothing but shorts with sweat dripping down his body. It was in moments like this that she wished she wasn't pregnant. Her pregnancy hormones were making hard to look at Nate without wanting to jump on him.
"Yeah." She laughed. "I just got back from Cassie's."
Nate cursed as he moved closer to her. "What did you do?"
"Nothing." Adaline replied rolling her eyes. "I didn't touch a hair on your precious girlfriends head."
"Come on Ads." The Jacobs boy sighed. "You know she means nothing to me."
"Then why did Rue see her getting into your truck and kissing you?"
"Fuck!" Nate groaned running his hand through his hair. "Listen to me, nothing happened. I picked her up to go and talk. I explained to her that it was a mistake and that it could never happen again."
"You had to take her away for that?" Adaline scoffed. "You couldn't just fucking text her to leave you the hell alone?"
"I wasn't thinking about that then." He sighed. "I know it looks bad but I swear nothing happened. She kissed me on the cheek when I first picked her up and then I pushed her away. I told her how much I loved you and that she meant nothing to me. That was it."
"How am I supposed to ever trust you again?"
"I don't know." Nate replied looking down at the ground sadly. "We just have to work on things. One day at a time."
Now Nate had no idea how truly ironic his last sentence was. But it caused Adaline to break out into a fit of laughter as he just awkwardly stood there confused.
"God, you two are actually perfect for each other." The brunette mumbled walking up the steps to her bedroom.
