⋆ Chapter 39 ⋆It's A New Year, Playboy

"Happy New Year bitch!" Maddy shouted rushing towards Adaline with Cassie right behind her.

"Hey I'm going to go get another drink." Nate said awkwardly. He was doing everything in his power to avoid Cassie and Adaline noticed. "Want me to get you a water or something?"

"Yeah." She smiled standing up on the tips of her toes to kiss his cheek. "Thanks Nate."

"Happy New Year to the hottest pregnant lady ever!" The Perez girl screamed wrapping her arms tightly around Adaline.

"Happy New Year Mads!" She laughed hugging the girl back. "Happy New Year Cas!" Adaline smiled pulling Cassie into a short hug.

Cassie awkwardly hugged Adaline back. She felt so bad for what she did. Cassie knew Adaline didn't deserve it. She couldn't believe how stupid she had been.

The three girls chatted happily about Travis who Maddy had let kiss her. They were completely unaware to the conversation going on just a few feet away from them.

"What's up, man? You havin' a good time?" Fezco asked from behind Nate.

"Uh yeah." The Jacobs boy turned around confused as to why Fez was talking to him.

"You make any New Year's resolutions?"

"A couple." Nate shrugged taking a sip of his drink. "You?"

"A few." Fez nodded from beside Nate. He was casually looking around the room. His eyes landed on Adaline and he felt his heart clench. Fez knew Adaline was going to be pissed but he needed to do this.

"The last time we talked, didn't you say you wanted to kill me?" Nate questioned turning to look at whatever Fez was staring at. His eyes landed on Adaline.

"Yeah, well... It's a new year, playboy." Fezco responded before smashing the bottle he was holding against Nate's head. The Jacobs boy immediately went down from the blow but Fez didn't stop. He began repeatedly punching Nate.

Cassie of course was the first to notice what was going on. She had already been watching Nate. Cassie gasped loudly as she watched the Jacobs boy fall to the ground. "Oh my god!"

Both Adaline and Maddy's heads snapped over to where everyone else was looking. The three girls rushed over to Fezco and Nate.

"Fez! Stop!" Adaline screamed as tears filled her eyes. "Get off of him!"

Maddy held onto Adaline as the girl tried to get between Fez and Nate. Maddy wouldn't let her get any closer. She didn't want Fez to accidentally hurt Adaline and the baby.

"Oh my god! Fezco, stop!" Cassie cried out grabbing onto Fez's arm. The red haired boy simply shrugged her off causing her to fall to the ground. "McKay! Stop. Stop!"

"Fez, stop! Fez, get off of him! Please!" Adaline cried trying to get away from Maddy.

"Stop!" McKay shouted ripping Fez off of Nate. Fez attempted to hit McKay but some other party goers stopped him.

"Chill, chill, chill! Chill, chill, chill! Come on, guys. It's New Years. Come on." The kid who threw the party, Virgil pleaded.

Fezco glanced at Adaline once before stomping away. As soon as Fez was away from Nate, Adaline rushed to his side. "Nate! Nate stay with me!" She exclaimed noticing that he was beginning to lose consciousness.

Adaline was too caught up in making sure Nate stayed awake that she didn't even notice Cassie kneel next to her grabbing onto Nate's hand. The blonde had tears streaming down her face as she looked down at a bloodied Nate.

"Careful, careful, careful." Cassie shouted as Maddy and McKay got down next to Nate's body.

"Pick him up!" Maddy demanded.

"Is he okay? Is he okay?" McKay rushed out worried. "Help me get him up! Help me get him up! Come on."

"Wait, watch his head." The brunette cried as a couple of guys picked Nate up. She kept her hand firmly placed in his as they carried him outside.

"Careful, careful! Fuck!" Cassie yelled following closely behind.

"We need to get him to a hospital." Adaline spoke looking at Maddy and McKay. Maddy nodded quickly grabbing her keys out of the small purse she had.

"I'll drive."

"He's so heavy." One of the guys carrying Nate groaned.

"Is he good?" Cassie questioned earning an eye roll from Adaline. Obviously he wasn't good. He was barely conscious.

"Just open the door, bro." McKay shouted also annoyed. He didn't have time for stupid questions when his best friend was unconscious and bleeding.

"It's unlocked. Just open it." Maddy announced getting in the drivers seat.

"Let's go, please." Adaline begged sliding in the back with Nate.

The Kingston girl had to bite her tongue as Cassie squeezed into the backseat with her and Nate. Nate's head was on Adaline's lap as she tightly held his hand. Tears fell down the girls face as she watched Nate's eyes slightly open.

"It's okay Nate. You're going to be okay." She reassured him squeezing his hand.

Nate slowly reached his arm up and brushed his large hand against Adaline's cheek. His thumb gently wiped away her tears. Nate didn't like seeing her cry. It hurt him even more knowing that it was him who caused it.

"I love you." Adaline whispered softly kissing the hand that she had been holding. "I love you so fucking much Nate."

Cassie who was sitting next to the couple witnessed the whole thing. It hurt her to see how much they loved each other. She wanted someone to love her like that.

Maddy quickly pulled up to the hospital doors. "I'll go get some nurses!" She said before rushing into the waiting room.

"Cas, help me get him out. Addie shouldn't be lifting anything." McKay ordered getting out of the passenger seat.

Together the two managed to get Nate out of the car. Most of his weight was supported by McKay. They then slowly shuffled closer to the door. Thankfully Maddy came back out with two nurses and a gurney.

Adaline held tightly onto the side of the gurney as the nurses wheeled Nate down the hallway. Maddy was next to her while Cassie stayed on the other side. Adaline didn't understand why Cassie was coming back with them. As far as Adaline knew the two had barely ever spoken more than three words to each other.

"What's the patient's name?" One of the nurses questioned.

"Nate Jacobs." Maddy responded knowing Adaline was too upset to speak.

"Okay, Nate? We're going to do everything we can to help you." She said looking down at him. The nurse then returned her attention back to the teens. "I'm going to need you all to stay out here."

Cassie was about to protest but she was cut off by Maddy. "That's fine." The Perez girl nodded.

They all watched as Nate disappeared behind two large white doors. The nurse that had been asking them questions stayed behind. "Has anyone contacted the parents?"

"No." The brunette mumbled.

"We'll do that right away." McKay nodded gently rubbing his hand down Adaline's back.

"Okay. When they get here they'll need to fill out some information."

"Is he going to be okay?" Cassie wondered.

"Your boyfriend will be just fine." The nurse nodded. "We can't let you back at this time seeing as your not family. When his parents get here you may go back if they allow it."

"I'm not-" Cassie stuttered.

"She's not his girlfriend." Adaline corrected, harshly glaring at both Cassie and the nurse.

"Okay, why don't you go call Marsha and Cal." Maddy suggested trying to diffuse the tension between her two friends.

Adaline sniffled moving away from everyone. She went and stood by the large windows in the waiting room. Her hands shook as she pulled her phone out of her small purse. She had no idea what she was supposed to say. How do you tell someone that their child is in the hospital unconscious and bleeding?

"Addie? Is everything okay? How's the party?" Marsha questioned on the other side of the phone. She was confused as to why the girl was calling. Marsha knew that her and Nate were going to a party. She thought they would still be there.

"Marsh! Something happened to Nate! We're at the hospital. He was unconscious and there was so much blood." Adaline sobbed. "I'm so sorry! I tried to stop it!"

"Wait what?" Marsha exclaimed. She could barely understand the rambling teen. All she heard was Nate and hospital. "Addie! Slow down sweetheart. Tell me what happened."

"Nate got beat up really badly. We had to take him to the hospital. They won't let anyone back with him. You need to come here."

"Okay. Okay." The Jacobs woman breathed out. "Cal and I will be there shortly. In the meantime, you need to relax. All of this stress is not good for the baby."

"I'll try but I'm really worried Marsh." The girl cried. "He was hardly breathing."

"Just breathe Addie. We'll be there soon."

"Okay." She whispered.

Once Adaline was off the phone she plopped down on one of the chairs. She naturally chose the one closest to the window. Looking out at the stars helped calm the girl down a little. Maddy eventually came over and joined her.

Cassie and McKay apparently went to get the girl something to eat and drink. They said they would stay with her until Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs arrived. No one wanted the pregnant teen to be alone. They could see how bad she was struggling.

Adaline Kingston couldn't live in a world without Nate Jacobs. He was her everything and she was his. Unfortunately, for them the world seemed to be doing everything in its power to keep the two apart.

It would probably be about JJ if I were to do it. I have some ideas already but I'm open to suggestions.

I don't know if anyone would want to read it so please let me know.
