Nate's plan was coming together. He had already gotten Maddy and Jules on board. Now all he needed was Tyler. He planned on visiting Tyler later that night but for now he was going to spend the day with Adaline.

"Ads get up." Nate said softly shaking the brunette awake.

"No." She mumbled burying her face more into her pillow.

"Come on. I made you breakfast."

"Seriously?" Her head shot up at his words. "I didn't knew you could cook." She smirked eyeing Nate's appearance. He was wearing grey sweatpants and a maroon sweatshirt.

Nate rolled his eyes ignoring her comment and instead leaning down to kiss the girls forehead. "Good morning!" He had a smile on his face at her messy appearance from just waking up. "Hurry up and come down before it gets cold."

"Okay. I'll be down in a few just let me freshen up first."

When the brunette arrived in the kitchen she was shocked to see the setup Nate had. As she sat down at the table her mouth watered at the sight before her. Her plate was made up of french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage. There was also a bowl filled with her favorite fruits all mixed together in a fruit salad.

Adaline looked up at Nate with a huge smile. "I'm impressed Nathaniel. You did good." She praised.

"That's not all I got." Nate smirked leaving the kitchen before returning with a bouquet of flowers.

"Okay what did you do?" She questioned as he handed her the flowers. She smiled internally noticing that the bouquet was filled with all of her favorites.

"Nothing. I just thought I'd do something nice for you." The Jacobs boy shrugged hoping she'd let it go.

Adaline nodded causing Nate to sigh in relief. The two then began eating. They talked about the most random things laughing and joking around with each other. Adaline was waiting for the right time to bring up what was on her mind. She wanted to enjoy the moment before she potentially pissed Nate off.

As Adaline shoveled the last of her fruit salad into her mouth she looked up at Nate who was watching her. While most girls would be embarrassed to eat in front of a guy she simply didn't care. "So are you going to tell me where you disappeared to last night?"

"Uh what?" Nate asked awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.

"Where did you go last night after I fell asleep?"

"I didn't go anywhere." Nate replied getting defensive. "Seriously Ads I don't know what you're talking about."

"I'm not an idiot Nate. I woke up last night to go to the bathroom and you were gone." She sighed getting annoyed. Why couldn't he just be honest for once? "I checked your room and there was no sign of you. I even looked out the window to check the driveway. That's when I discovered that your truck was gone. I know you're lying to me."

"Ads-" Nate began only to be cut off.

"You know what I think?" She asked rhetorically. "I think you went and did something you weren't supposed to do and now you feel guilty. So to make up for it you made this amazing breakfast and got me flowers."

"What do you want me to say?" He questioned.

"The truth."

"I met up with Maddy." Nate couldn't look at her face when he said those words. He knew she was upset. He could only imagine what she was thinking.

"Of course you fucking did." Adaline shouted standing from the table. "Did you have sex with her?"

"What?"

"Nate did you have sex with her?"

"Addie why?"

"Just answer the fucking question!" She screamed getting angrier. "Did you sleep with her hours after having sleeping with me?"

"No, Ads I swear. We just talked." Nate reassured her. Of course she would immediately think that he went to Maddy for sex. "I wouldn't do that to you."

"Why? It's not like we're together. Right Nate?"

"Come on! You know shit with Maddy is complicated. How many times do I have to tell you that I want to be with you?"

"Well how am I supposed to believe you when you do shit like this?" Adaline asked. "Huh Nate? You just fucking snuck out in the middle of the night. What am I supposed to think?"

"I know." He sighed. "I just didn't want to tell you and get you upset."

"What did you talk to her about?"

"You and the investigation." Nate answered.

"Why me?"

"I told her." Is all the Jacobs boy said.

"I'm sorry, you did what?" She exclaimed.

"I had to tell her Adaline. I can't get in trouble with the police. I thought if she knew then she'd realize how important it is to clear my name."

"I can't fucking believe you!" Adaline yelled pinching the bridge of her nose. "She's going to tell everyone Nate!"

"She won't. Addie, I promise you she won't." Nate said moving over towards the girl. He grabbed her shoulders and pulled her small body into his.

Adaline relaxed at the feeling of Nate's long fingers running through her hair and his strong arm wrapped around her waist. She was pissed at him for telling Maddy. Adaline was praying he was right but she had a feeling Maddy wasn't just going to let it go.

"How do you know she's not going to tell anyone?" She questioned looking up into his eyes.

"We made a deal."

"What do you mean a deal?

"Maddy agreed to help clear my name and to keep your pregnancy a secret as long as I do something for her."

"What does she want?"

"She wants to stay together." He sighed.

"Nate!" Adaline pulled out of his embrace glaring at him.

"Hey, no Addie it's only until after Halloween." Nate said grabbing the girls wrist and pulling her back to him. "After she helps me I'm going to break up with her."

"And how do you know she's not going to go back on her word after you break up with her?"

"Because at that point the police won't believe her. She's going to identify them and if she changes her mind they won't trust her. Plus there's witness that's going to say it wasn't me." Nate explained.

"I don't even want to know how you got your way out of this." Adaline spoke staring at Nate's smug face. Sometimes it scared her how good he was at getting himself out of bad situations. She knew that whatever Nate had done to for his plan to work probably wasn't good. "It's just until after Halloween?"

"Yes. Then you and I can be together." Nate nodded pressing his lips to hers.

A couple days later Tyler walked into the police station still bad bruised from his last run in with Nate. He turned himself in for the assault of Madeline Perez.

"Do you recognize that man?" The detective asked looking suspiciously at the dark haired girl.

"Yes. He's the guy who assaulted me the night of the carnival." Maddy replied barely glancing at Tyler through the one way glass. Nate had texted her the night before letting her now that everything would soon be over. She knew she had to go along with his plan.

The detective nodded leading Maddy out of the room. He then turned to one of his coworkers and sighed. "Something about this whole thing just... I don't know. It just feels odd."

Before the other detective could reply there was a knock on the door. "Riley, we got a girl in 202 who says she witnessed the Perez assault."

Detective Riley sighed heading to the interview room. He wasn't sure what it was but there was something about this whole situation that wasn't adding up.

"I was walking to the bathroom. And, uh... I saw this guy yelling at this girl, behind one of the trailers. And, I kind of, like, stopped and looked for a second. And then he grabbed her by the neck and kind of, like... pushed her up against the side of the trailer. And then I immediately recognized that it was Maddy." The blonde nervously explained. "And I knew... I knew the guy's face from somewhere. I just... couldn't, like, place it. Uh, and then... Last night, I realized where I knew him from. And, uh, he's the guy that hooked up with Maddy the night of McKay's party."

"Did anyone coerce you into making this statement today?" Detective Riley asked looking Jules dead in the eye.

"No." She mumbled.

"And you realize that filing a false police report or making false statements to the police impeding a criminal investigation is a very serious crime, punishable by up to seven years in prison."

"I do." The blonde nodded.

The detective sighed as he watched the blonde leave the interview room. He looked over the case file for the hundredth time wondering what he was missing. He just couldn't believe that it was Tyler that assaulted Maddy.

"Happy Halloween!" The receptionist said as Jules quickly exited the police station.
