Tied Up

When we reached our house, Cody grinned. "Come inside, but stay on the couch, I have to get ready." I nodded as he dashed up the stairs. I giggled and took a seat on the plush couch. I drummed my fingers against my knees and hummed Lying Is The Most Fun... to the beat. I decided to watch some TV while I waited. Overhead, Cody's movements sounded. A few times, there was the sound of something dropping, which didn't help my nerves. After around 20 minutes, Cody came down, a pile of pajamas in his arms. He was wearing blue flannel pants and a grey v-neck.

"I'll be a little longer. Feel free to change in the bathroom here." He pointed me toward the downstairs bathroom. I nodded as he headed back upstairs. I changed into the comfy outfit and looked in the mirror. Cody's sweatshirt hung a little low on me, down to my mid-thighs. Underneath, I wore a pair of black shorts. Cody called my name so I headed upstairs.

I bumped into him in the hallway and tried to peer around him. "Hey now, calm down. It's a surprise." I groaned. He covered my eyes with his hands and nudged me to the bedroom. He uncovered my eyes to reveal what would have to be the prettiest set up ever. The lights were dimmed and the bed was turned into a tent sort of thing. It was a cream sheet with fairy lights twinkling inside and around it. I walked around a little. The lights were hanging on the walls and mini lanterns draped from the ceiling. I turned to face Cody and hugged him tightly.

"It's beautiful.. Thank you.." I released him and headed toward the tent. "So this is what you meant by getting a more intense relationship." I heard him step closer to me. "Ha.. Right.." I turned around and raised an eyebrow before chuckling confusedly."What?" His eyes had a glimpse of darkness that shrouded his normally bring and energetic eyes. "This is what I meant." I opened my mouth to reply, but I hit the floor. The sharp pain in my head was unbearable. I rolled over onto my back and stared at him through blurry vision. His hand held a slightly bloody base of a lamp. I struggled to remain conscious, but it failed miserably. I blacked out in a matter of minutes.

When I woke up, I found myself tied to a chair. I blinked a few times, hoping to seek what was around me. Nothing much, just a bunch of darkness. My headache stuck with me from the knockout I took. I heard the sound of heels approaching me. "Wakey wakey." I looked up and saw the familiar mess of pink hair in front of me. "Yuki?" My voice was meek. She nodded. "How are you feeling?" Her saccharine voice asked. "You know, death seems better than the migraine in my head." (Ayy TOP reference tho)"That could be arranged." I rolled my eyes at her remark. She walked around me, examining me, I supposed. "Well, they'll be here shortly, so don't screw yourself over." And with that, she left me in a state of confusion and curiosity.

It felt like years before I hear more footsteps, but these weren't heels. I let my gaze hit the floor as the pair turned into two pairs, which turned into three. I looked up and squinted. "Sam? Cody? Taurtis?" They shared a glimpse and turned back to me. "Why am I here?" I struggled against my rope binding as they stared me down."Well, you escaped from my watch.." Sam said, nearing me. His finger rested on my chin and lifted my head up. "So, I called in Taurtis.." My gaze shot to Taurtis. "And then, I lost you, so I called in Cody." My gaze fell on Cody, who showed a sliver of remorse, but nothing else. I clenched my jaw, causing Sam to drop his finger. "Wow... And I thought you all cared about me.." I whispered. They shared a chuckle, causing me excruciating heartbreak. They walked away, leaving nothing but me, my heartbreak, and the dust in the air.

I must of dozed off, because I awoke to the sound of soft, pattering feet. My heat shot up as I peered into the darkness of the room. It was similar, possibly even the same one, to the warehouse where I'd found Taurtis and Sam. The mess of pink hair appeared again. "Yuki?" I whispered hoarsely. She nodded and held a finger to her mouth. She looked around and headed towards me. "Shh.. I'm setting you free." I cocked my head a bit, confused by her sudden friendliness. "Why?" "Well, I'll explain it later. You need to get out now. I have a small bag for you with clothes and other necessities." She set it down carefully by me. She pulled out a knife and began sawing at the rope around me. After quite a while, I stood up on shaky legs. I grabbed the bag and looked at Yuki. "Here's a special card. You can use it freely, as it covers all money.""How'd you get this?" I questioned, examining the pearlescent card."When your dad works with the mafia, you can get some cool stuff." She winked. She then handed me a pile of clothes to change into, which was a pair of leggings, a sweatshirt, and some slip on shoes. "Change into these, it'll be a long travel. You need to get on a train to the airport and fly to Chicago. There's a man who knows me at the airport, so tell him to take you to a building, he knows which one. From there on, you will get an apartment. I'll meet up with you in a few days." I nodded and gathered everything up. I thanked her and hugged her. "Thanks Yuki, see you soon." She nodded and I slipped out a crack in the door. I breathed in the night air and made my way to the train station. I showed the man the card and he nodded me through. Surprisingly, there were quite a few people on the train, even though it seemed pretty late. I checked my bag for my phone after I heard a dainty buzz. I unlocked it and replied to Yuki.

Y- Are you on the train?M-Yes, thank you again.Y-It's not a problem. These texts need to be deleted after we end this convo, so we don't have proof of contact.M- Got it. See you later.

I sighed and deleted the conversation. Wow, it's 2AM. I tucked my phone into the same compartment I'd found it in. I stared out the window at the stars. I started to yawn, so I curled up and drifted to sleep. I prayed that Yuki could escape and I prayed that I could end the horrors I suffered.
