3rd person pov

Rexy roared her mighty roar at Inza and the hybrid roared back. They stood face to face, Rexy standing in front of Jane in protective way, but that only made Inza's blood boil and glare at the t-rex. She has known Jane her whole life and the idea of sharing her with someone else makes Inza angry. So does Rexy.

Rexy and Inza roared at each other, getting closer until they ran and attacked, Rexy managing to bite at Inza's neck but she fought back.

Seeing the situation and their huge bodies destroying everything around them, Jane pushed with her hands to stand up and ran to hide behind a rock. She watched her two favourite dinosaurs she practically raised fight and noticed they're close to Owen's and others' hiding spot.

Inza managed to throw Rexy on her side, grabbed her neck with her teeth and dragged against the ground to where Jane's friends are hiding. Rexy's head ran through the wall and tears started fill Jane's eyes not only seeing Rexy hurt within seconds, but her friends in danger as well.

"Run, you idiots! Get out of there!" Jane screamed her lungs out and thankfully they managed to get out the shop in time before it was destroyed into ruins. They ran to where Jane is hiding and crouched down with her, watching the scene in front of them. Jane's shaky hand found Owen's and squeezed it like never before. She's so nervous because Inza is winning.

She love them both the same way but to be honest, she knew Rexy longer and grew stronger relationship. Her death would destroy the human.

Rexy laid on her side, covered in her and Inza's blood but mostly in her own and looks like she's too tired to stand up. Jane bit her lip nervously, drawing blood without noticing as she saw Inza step on Rexy's throat.

"No. No, no, no, no." Owen glanced at his sick worried best friend and rubbed her shoulder in attempt to comfort her. There's nothing they can do. Or he thought, because Jane jumped from their hiding spot and ran towards the hybrid and queen of dinosaurs, lying devasted on the ground.

"Jay, come back!" Owen yelled, now him growing worried sick about his friend. He knew she has crazy ideas but this is the most stupid thing she has ever done!

"No!" Inza looked up from Rexy at her only friend she ever had. She's been searching for her this whole day, and now here she is, standing right in front of her and telling her to stop what she's doing.Jane walked closer, standing right by Rexy's snout and lifted her arms in the air.

"Inza, stop! Don't kill her, please! Take me instead, but let Rexy live. I love her as much as I love you. If you hurt her, you hurt me." Inza watched the human's every move, seeing her on verge of tears.

"That's not want you want, is it? Me being hurt." It sounded more of like statement than question. But she's right. The last thing Inza want is Jane hurt, even though she already is. Inza glanced between Rexy and her friend, thinking if she's gonna finish the other dinosaur or leave her and take Jane with her. If that's what Jane want then she will do as she said.

Owen, Claire and her nephwes watched in shock how Jane stood up for Rexy and talked to Inza without getting killed, hell she's even listening to her. Through Owen's head flashed a question Jane asked this morning and many times before. What's making her so different from other people? Cause right now they see the situation. If Owen or Claire or any other human ran there like Jane did, they would be dead in blink of an eye. But not Jane.

The Grant woman smiled with tears when Inza got down from Rexy and turned her full attention to her. Like before, Inza picked Jane up into air, being careful with her claws. This time Jane didn't squeal or something from being startled, only watched Inza lifting her up to get better look at her and purred.

The moment was interrupt by Blue shrieking and growling, running at Inza full speed. Inza tried to crawl Blue away with her free hand and keep Jane away from getting harmed, holding her to her chest.

When her head stopped spinning for a while, her eyes widen when Rexy pounced at Inza and bit around her neck, shaking her side to side. Rexy noticed Jane in Inza's hand and growled, tightening her grip on the hybrid's neck. Like Inza wants to get rid of whoever that wants to take Jane away from her, Rexy noted to get rid of Inza.

Jane suddenly flew from Inza's hand when the hybrid was pushed into a building and sick sound was heard when she landed, screaming and grunting in pain. She landed badly on her arm and due to the appearence of pain, it's probably broken.

However that didn't stop her from standing up and running where her friends are hiding. She caught up to them and hissed when Owen grabbed her hand, looking confused. She only waved her other hand at it and watched the fight continuing.

Blue and Rexy worked together against Inza and pushed her to the edge, cornering her. Inza stood up and roared at the two as they roared back. That was the moment when Jane's eyes widen in shock at the sight of Mososaur jumping from the water and grabbing Inza around throat, dragging her into the deep water and disappearing. Forever.

Jane walked from their hiding spot and stopped when reaching the edge, her green eyes looking into the dark water Inza was dragged and drowned in a second ago.

It's what was supposed to happen. It's the right thing, though either way it torn part of Jane's heart. Like Rexy and Owen and anyone Jane care for, Inza as well had big part in her heart and now when she's gone, that part in Jane's heart is too and leaving big hole in there.

Hot tears started to pour from her green eyes, dropping onto her knees. Sobs started to escape her lips, catching Rexy's attention. The gaint dino nudged Jane with her snout and Jane rested her hand between her nose drills, though never taking her eyes from where Inza disappeared. Now Inza is only a memory in her head. Others will remember Inza as cruel and terrifying beast, but Jane saw her other side and that's how she wants to remember her. As someone she has raised, her friend, not a bloody killing monster.

After Owen let Blue go, setting her free, him and others watched Jane pitying over Inza's death and Rexy trying to comfort her. None of them ever saw this strong bond between human and dinosaur, not even Owen. He knew how much his friend care for dinosaurs and two certain ones, but never saw it with his own eyes. The times when he went to get Jane from Rexy's paddock, that was nothing like this.

"Jay." Mentioned one lifted her gaze at her friends standing in the distance. With the look he gave her she understood what he mean. She must set Rexy free, like Owen let Blue free, and turned her head with tears stained cheeks to look into Rexy's eyes.

"Never, and I mean NEVER ever forget how much I care about you. You're my best friend, Rexy, and I will miss you so so much. But I can't hold you back. No one should." Jane got back on her feet and backed away a little to put room between her and Rexy. "You're free. You hear me? I'm letting you go. You're free."

If she will be here any longer, Jane will break into another waterfall. And Rexy made it harder by not moving away but going to nudge Jane with her snout. However, Jane had to push her away with her good hand, almost breaking.

"No! Go, Rexy. Go!" Each second Jane found it harder to keep the tears in when looking at Rexy and lowered her gaze, eyes shut tightly. "Please, go." Her voice came as whisper, loud enough for Rexy to hear.

This time Rexy listened to her and with last look at her only best friend, she started walking away, her heavy footsteps reminding Jane it's over. They will never see each other again.

Big hand rested on Jane's shoulder and that was last straw for her to break, new amount of tears rolling down her cheeks faster than before and turned to hug her best friend tightly, being careful with her broken arm.

"Shh, it's okay. It's right thing to do. Everything will be fine." Owen whispered gently into her ear, having his arm tightly around her smaller body and other hand stroking her now messy hair as she cried into his chest.

Soon another pair of arms wrapped around them and two more, Claire and her nephews joining and creating group hug, all of them to comfort the human that went through a lot since she first stepped her foot on this island.

Hundred of people sat in safety of a building, getting their injuries taken care of or already done or still waiting. Ships already took some amount of people but there's still a lot left. Jane wandered around, looking for people that need medical help. She herself did some of the work she's able to do as her left arm is broken, bandaged by now.

As she was bandaging some man's injured hand, she caught a glimpse of Gray and Zach running and hugging two adults, woman and man. They must be their parents. She smiled at the scene of loving family, glad Claire's sister isn't mad at her when she hugged her tightly. But Jane's smile soon faded.

Does Alan know what happened here? Is he worried about her? Did he forget about her? Does he even still care about her? Jane shook her head to stop overthinking and finished bandaging the man, standing up and looking around.

"Hey, Pretty Lady." Very well known voice spoke from behind Jane and she turned, her best friend approaching her. "How you holding up?" Jane gave him sad smile.

"I manage." The two looked outside, where they see other people walking. "I'm not gonna say I will never step on this island again, because the last time I did say it I ended up here for 9 years, and because I know this isn't the last time I'm here." Owen looked at her, knowing she's right but either way hoping none of them will have to go back here. The only he can do now is wrap his arm around her shoulders, pulling her to his body as she rested her head against his shoulder, tired.

"So what do we do now?" Claire asked, stepping next to Owen with devasted face. They all are tired. It was rough day and night.

"I say we stick together. For survival." Owen suggest and the two girls smile in agreement, walking towards the entrance. If only they knew what's gonna happen in the future.
