The final bye

After getting discharged Jay came home, she was welcomed by her aunt Gemma and her uncle didn't say anything but his presence in the living room was enough to show he's glad on her return. After a while her parents came into the living room, for once she smiled but soon it faded as she realised they came out of different rooms.

Jeana, her mom hugged, "oh my girl, are you alright. I was worried", Jay pushed, "really, do you even care about if I'm alive or not", her father caressed her hairs, "of course we do, and", she removes his hand as well, "if it's than you wouldn't have divorced even on my request and sent me to hostel and...", she got tears in eyes.

She shook her head, "I'm tired I need rest", her father held her hand, "come back to me, I won't sent you hostel again, but will keep you with me", she shrug off him, "no need, I'm happy here, Kuya Angelo might be strict but he cares about me, Tita loves me more than Kuya and Aries., I don't want to leave", and she left for  her room.

Jay was sitting staring at cellphone, "please ring, ring", she sighed, "network is proper, incoming is on then why it's..." and the phone rang she picked it up on first ring, "Keifer", her voice was cheerful like she just got Tiramisu cake, "Keifer? no it's your insane man, sweetheart", she chuckles, "oh so you really know how to speak", she teases him, "so I was just saying that I'm dumping Keifer for you".

He changed his voice to a normal one, "aye.. you can't do this, even after what I said last night", she pretends to remain unknown, "last night? you said nothing like every time, but I just kept ranting that I'm giving up on him, and I'm sure".

"Stop it, you know everything, don't do this to me Jay, it's your Keifer", his voice was serious, "don't leave me", she exhaled deeply, "and what you did to me, made me cry, broke up with me without a reason and disappeared".

Keifer's voice became heavy, "I know Jay, I know... that was really mean of me but I can explain the reason I avoided you, not to hurt but to protect you. Trust me I'll come back soon", his words were promising, "this was the reason I asked to break up that day, but I can't... I can't help, I dare not to lose you, I really do not have the courage to let you go", tears rolled down his cheeks, "I'll fight for you".

Jay sighed, "what's the reason, at least let me know", Keifer said in a low voice, "it's due to my inheritance, family issues and I just don't want you to get stuck in this all".

She let out a deep breath, "you know I hate to back down, and I can protect you", he replied, "I know, that's why I tried to send you away, Jay, I'll resolve them soon and come back to you and make up for everything".

She asked with hesitation, "how long?", he exhaled, "I'm not sure but maybe few weeks", her face became dull and voice changed, "few weeks", he sighs, "and maybe I won't be contacting you frequently, I'll do it by myself and not with my own number", he also aware her, "don't get into fights and meddle in others mess, though you're capable of handling everything but still you've to stay away from problems cause your President won't be there to protect you".

She was not responding, "are you there", he asked, she scoffed, "you're sounding more like Kuya Angelo rather", he chuckled, "don't call me Kuya, I'm your husband".

She shook her head, "well, not yet and remember we broke up", he scoffed, "tss... two people might have broken up but not two souls, my wife my life". She laughs out so loud, "corny, and you know come out of your character, behave like my Keifer, the horrible President of Section A, cold blood creature".

Keifer laughs as well, "I'm ready to become anything, let me come back I'll court you again, chase after you and sing for you, and then we'll marry". She stopped him, "hey! you're thinking too much". He bites his lip, "maybe but please don't give up".

Jay sighed, “I really miss you Keifer”, Keifer's voice was little low & serious, “same here, I just want to come to you right now and hug you tightly, and will never go anywhere”.

She smiled, “come soon”, he assured her, “sure, for now there's a family dinner arranged, I'll see if I can call you again but I'll text you regularly”. She nods, “okay”.

She was about to hang up, he said in a low voice, “I love you, Jay”, she just replied “oh I know”, he snorted, “really? answer me properly”, she just did ‘hmm”.

His voice became tough, “Jay, don't tease me, just say it”, she chuckled, “okay, I love…” and her room's door opened, “I love… me” and she kept the phone aside. It's Aries looking her with confused eyes.

Keifer kept looking his phone, “me?? What was that?” And Keigan called him to meet the family.

On the other side Aries came near Jay, “I love me?”, she coughed, “yes, I do”.

Aries squeezed his eyes, "I guess with physician I had to take appointment from psychiatrist too"

Jay's POV

The next day I went to school, it's been a week and everyone welcomed me, "nothing is good without you, Jay", Ci-N said while pulling me into a hug. Felix joined us, "really, I think we'd open a hospital in school, so that if you got injured you can be with us"

I smacked his head, "idiot", David asked us to settle down and my eyes went on Yuri, I had no plan to sit beside him and that too after rejecting him that on that day, even after break up I still want to be Keifer not anyone else, but he still smiled and asked me to sit on the bench next to him. Sir Alvin came and the day was normal.

Edrix came during the lunch break, "someone wants to talk to you", I saw it's Keifer, "why didn't you call on my phone", he replied, "I can't, and I told you I'll contact you by myself". She nods, "can we have a facetime, I want to see you".

He chuckled, "it's night here, I'm lying in bed", I commanded, "so get up for a while and do it". He cut me off, "I'm not wearing a shirt, do you want", I snorted, "jerk". I know he's smirking, I can tell by the way he's breathing, this man is so shameless, just if the world knows his this side, his voice was a little seductive, "I'm counting it all".

I asked it, "what?", and again he chuckled, "the rule, profanity and you've been using it a lot lately, I do have an account for it. You're going to pay it with interest". I felt my cheeks were burning, and heartbeat racing, his soft voice reached my ears, "wait for me Mariano, your man will return with ultimate superpowers". I giggled and he asked me to go back to classes.

It's been around two weeks he kept contacting me with different numbers, sometimes directly, sometimes through Edirx, Rory. I was in class and talking with Yuri and Eman, "it's your birthday soon", Ci-N exclaimed, "yeah, it's our Mutya's birthday is coming", the class cheered. My eyes went over Rory standing near the gate and I approached him, it's Keifer on the phone.

He didn't greeted me but started with "Are you still close with Yuri", he didn't know about the confession yet but yes he used to be his friend in past so very well aware of how he's and after break up I turned towards Yuri to avoid him, the biggest mistake but I already made it clear. I know he's sulking, jealous and I tried to make him more, "ah, yes I mean he's my classmate".

He scoffed, "tss... fine, I don't mind after all, you're mine". I smirked, "how, you said you're going to court me again, so", he cut me off, "that's between us, but you're mine". I know he's sounding possessive but instead of getting mad, I was feeling a little good that Mark Keifer Watson is becoming possessive for me.

"I'll be back for your birthday", he said and my eyes sparkled and without a moment I screamed, "really", he asked me to remain calm, "yes and what your Section E calls you, Mutya, right, we'll celebrate it together". My heart was really happy as he's finally coming to see me, after fifteen fucking days". 

I told him about my selection in the province's team of Gun Shooting, I remember when I was afraid of holding the gun back then he was the one who motivated me to hold it again and after seven months I did that and defeated Yuri on annual sports day. Well, our feelings started developing after that and now a long way to go.

He congratulated me, "so, I'm so proud of you. and I'm going to meet my lawyer if I can get back for a few days to meet my wife, bye and take care".

It's a day before my birthday, due to different time zones my birthday started early here but still he messaged me exact on 12 am in Philippines, "Oh my Minamahal... it's always you", he wrote this for me, I can never forget the day when we both participated in the singing competition and confessed our feelings through the lyrics we wrote.

He wished and told that he's boarding the flight and to save time he'll be coming by his private jet, this man is really insane. And my family came with a cake, "happy birthday to you", they all celebrated my birthday and I felt so happy and blessed that night. The messages from Ulupongs literally broke my phone. I was truly happy that day, but he's missing but I know the wait of just a few hours.

I slept with a hope he'll be at my door by the morning after all he's my neighbour. And it's morning it's raining heavily, "it's rare to rain in this season, well global warming". I got ready for school and went downstairs for  Breakfast but it's all silent.

Aries's POV

I saw Jay coming downstairs, she's happy, though she and Keifer tried to hide well about their reunion but I know everything. And it's my birthday, she's so happy and more happy because Keifer was coming back. Now how I'm supposed to tell her that, she snapped her fingers, "why so serious?".

Kuya Angelo approached, everyone knows about her and Keifer's relation, he was not happy at all cause no one knows more than him about Keifer's family. Whatever we all were childhood friends, he cares about us all and the news shook all of us, even the brave man I always admired my elder brother he's looking vulnerable.

Jay was looking at our tensed faces, "something wrong?", Kuya took a deep breath, "Jay, actually", his voice trembled, I can see he's struggling to say that all but he finally did, "Keifer, he's coming back but", I looked at Jay's changing expressions, her happy expressions turned into dark, "but?", she questioned.

Kuya in a low and heavy voice said, "his plane crashed", and tears dropped off my eyes, but Jay laughed off, "you're joking right, I'm not a kid Kuya, I know you both always love to tease me'. He held her by shoulder, "it's true, I just contacted some officials, as Mr Ryder, Keifer's lawyer told me that his plane jet suddenly disappeared".

He continued, "ATC has confirmed that near the middle east they lost contact with his Pilot" and probably it crashed into the Indian Ocean, a team has been sent there. Jay didn't react, but looked at all of us, "it's okay". and she just went back to her room.

Angelo's POV

I know Keifer from the time he's just seven and no matter he's a mischievous kid but like my brother and when I saw him struggling with family issues I always tried to help me get out of it. He took my advice like an elder brother and today it's most terrible happened to me and my cousin who is madly in love with him.

I told her the things but she didn't react, sometimes I saw myself in her, who shows herself as strong but deep down yearns for care. And the thing that I didn't want to confront, it's there, I was hoping for a miracle but officials shared a satellite image of his plane sank into the sea. Fuck, we lost Keifer, the fucking hell, we lost Keifer.

Jay will be shattered, I dare not tell her, she might be my cousin but like my little sister and only sister, she deserved happiness. But I had to tell her and I did. She didn't cry, "Why did this all happen to me, my family broke, my friend betrayed me, I was sued for no reason and finally my life was getting better and again this"

I can feel her, and I want her to shed off her tears to loosen the weight of her heart and I pulled her into a hug, Aries was standing there and I expanded my arms to take him in, they both sobbed like little kids in my arms like the way they used to do when big kids in park bullied them jn childhood.

Jay' Pov

I didn't know that's the final bye,  why everything happens with me and my loved ones. I can't bear it, I can't. Why gave me the hope at first and taking all away. How can God be that cruel with me.
