Epilogue

08:12, 12 October 2025

Months had passed and I couldn't be happier to stand at Sanji's side. We had adventure after adventure. And with Luffy as captain that wouldn't change anytime soon.

But for now it was quiet night. The stars high in the sky. A cup of hot tea in my hand, I stood just outside the kitchen. Sanji was inside, preparing a snack of some kind for our night watch. He didn't want to tell me what is was, saying something along the lines of it being a surprise.

In the darkness I noticed a ship that approached our own. It neared us quietly. They weren't waiving a pirate flag or a navy one. My best bet would be they would be bounty hunters.

I stepped back from the railing and into the kitchen. Sanji looked up from his work. Confused as to why I had come inside.

"Bounty hunters." I said as I placed my cup on the counter.

Sanji nodded and turned off the lights. The ship doused in darkness.

My senses flared to life. My werewolf side took over. I slipped out of the kitchen again, Sanji close behind me. Both of our steps quiet and light.

We moved to Nami's tangerine trees. They foliage would hide us from the hunters.

They moved up to the side of the Thousand Sunny and a small group of six boarded. They landed on the grassy deck, their forms crouched and ready to strike.

"We should shift." I whispered to Sanji, who had taken his place by my side.

"Right."

It only took a few seconds to shift. The pain of the curse gone, only the uncomfortable feeling of morphing bones was left.

Sanji shook his fur and licked my muzzle. Ready?

I nodded and focused on the intruders.

We sneaked away from the trees and moved towards the grassy deck.

The group of intruders had moved further onto the ship. Focused to catch its crew. The leader of the group halted in his steps.

"Why don't they have somebody on watch?" The leader asked to himself in thought.

"Probably because they are too arrogant and think that nobody would attack them in the night." One of his henchmen said, rather cockily at that.

His closest companion hit him over the back of his head, hissing in anger. "That is just plain stupid. They are probably hidden somewhere."

They were correct in thinking that. Both Sanji and I had snuck up behind them. Both of us had taken out two of them and returned them to their ships.

When the curse ended so did its ability to spread through a bite. It had lost all its power and control over us. It now only left us with the ability to shift into creatures of the night.

Another two were bitten and knocked out. I dragged mine back to their ship, when the light of a lantern illuminated my body.

Sanji, stay hidden. I said with haste. I dropped the man I carried back to their ship. A low growl left my throat.

Only the leader and cocky man were left. The leader held the lantern that illuminated the deck slightly.

"A dog?" The leader questioned. "They have a guard dog?"

"That mutt? She is guarding this ship?!" The cocky man exclaimed in shock.

My growl deepened at the insult that was thrown my way. A dog I could handle, but mutt went a step to far.

My growl was echoed by Sanji's, who had snuck up behind them. He had also heard that insult and now he was out for blood.

The two hunters turned around and stared with wide eyes at Sanji. They probably had never seen a blond wolf that massive.

I moved closer to them as well. I wanted them gone and off our ship. The cocky man was written down for death, nobody could save him now.

Sanji snapped at their legs, making them take a step back.

I moved around the two and joined Sanji's side. I followed his example and with the both of us we drove them back to the railing.

The cocky one is mine. I said and didn't give Sanji time to answer as I jumped at the man. My jaw locked around his neck and he fell under my weight. His head hit the railing and knocked him out before I snaped his neck. With a powerful throw the body landed on their ship.

Sanji had chased the leader over the railing and he was busy to prepare his ship for departure.

I shifted back to my human form and glared at the leader. My back straight and chin tilted up in confidence. Just like the picture for my wanted poster

He stared back with wide eyes, his mouth open in shock. "L/N Y/N, the shifter." He said, now he understood my epithet.

Sanji changed back as well, anger painted his features. He had a few words to say about it as well. "Don't you ever call her a 'mutt' again."

I placed my hand on his shoulder to keep Sanji from doing something rash. I smiled wickedly at the leader of bounty hunters, fangs on full display, as the ship sailed away.

"Never come back." I hissed. "When you do, you will be dead before you can take a single step."

The leader nodded vigorously, understanding the threat and he disappeared into the night.

Sanji turned to me, a handkerchief in his hand. "Come here, my dear. You have some blood on your cheek."

Sanji wiped the blood away softly. A gentle smile on his lips. "Come, I think our little snack should be finished by now."

"Lead the way, love." I smiled back with a kiss to his cheek.
