BONUS, when did you get hot?

"๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ you found out about your snowy fingers." Johnny smirked and placed his hands on top of Lacie's as she furrowed her brows, "I prefer to think of it as my ice powers, but go on."
Johnny ignored her comment and continued with the story that constantly replayed in his mind, mainly as leverage on her but the memory was funny enough that it would never slip his mind, "If I remember correctly, you got annoyed at me because I strayed away from the group a little--"
"You walked half-way across the city just so you could look at an advertisement board of yourself!" Lacie threw her head back laughing as Johnny rubbed his hands up and down Lacie's arms, his mouth opening and closing to defend himself.
"That's exaggerating!" Johnny stuttered out but Lacie scoffed and pointed to the wall behind his bedframe, "Johnny, it's literally framed on that wall!"
Johnny pulled her hand down and sat his body up more to be closer to Lacie, ignoring the fact that the exact advertisement was printed behind him in a smaller size. Listen, he was young and proud. God forbid a man is proud that he had a good hair day during the shoot.
"Stop deflecting!" Johnny chuckled and tilted his head as Lacie's laughter died down but her wide smile remained, "You grabbed the back of my shirt and your entire hand froze to it--""And that's where the story ends!" Lacie closed her eyes and rested her forehead against Johnny's chest, covering her burning cheeks from his vision.
Johnny licked his lips, "And when you pulled away, you tore my entire shirt off." Lacie groaned as it was Johnny's turn to burst out laughing, feeling his chest vibrate against her head.
Lacie scrunched up her face as the memory replayed in her mind, "That's not fair! You were pulling back too, which makes you partly responsible!" Lacie accused and pointed her finger into Johnny's chest as she lifted her head.

"๐๐๐๐๐๐! ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ lost your mind?" Lacie shouted as the freshly named Human Torch strode into the Baxter Building as if he hadn't sent the entire team spiralling for the last hour.
Johnny's smirk was evident as the elevator doors opened and he watched Reed's shoulders physically slump in relief, "What? I went out for fresh air? Something wrong with that?" He shrugged and headed towards the kitchen.
The team's eyes followed him in disbelief, "You were gone for three hours!" Sue furrowed her brows from across the room.
"We made a deal. While we're learning our powers, we don't leave this building." Reed sighed and ran his hands over his face. "Johnny, it's not cool to just leave like that." Ben grumbled as he lowered himself onto the couch.
Johnny shrugged, "Can't a guy live a little?" He smirked and took Lacie's cereal out of the cupboard, stuffing his face with the food before Lacie snatched it out of his hands, her face reading pure annoyance.
"First of all, those are mine," Lacie tapped the cereal box and slid it back onto the counter, "And second of all, what you did is totally irresponsible!" She scolded and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Totally irresponsible." Johnny mocked Lacie's voice and pitched his own higher. Lacie's jaw fell slack and she scoffed, "Oh, that's mature."
Ben rolled his eyes as the two youngest members bickered between each other. He sighed and pulled out a chair from under the table, "Seriously, Johnny. What were you doing half way across the city?" He pressed and sat himself down.
Johnny tore his eyes away from Lacie's scrunched up face and looked at Ben, a smirk slowly creeping its way onto his face. Sue squinted her eyes at her brother, "Please don't tell me it's what I'm thinking it is." She ran her hands down her face and her cheeks flushed in embarrassment on behalf of Johnny.
Lacie turned to face Sue, "Where did he go?" She asked her and ignored Johnny's chuckles from behind her back.
Sue shook her head, "Johnny, you're so weird." She muttered under her breath as the team looked between each other. "I wasn't gonna pass on the opportunity, Sue!" Johnny laughed and leaned against the counter.
Lacie's frown deepened and she raised her eyebrows at Sue once more, urging the woman to express what her brother had been up to. Sue sighed, "He went to go see that advertisement board of himself. You know, the shoot he did last month."
Johnny crossed his arms over his chest, "I looked good! What can I say?" His chuckles echoed as the room fell silent, all eyes trained on his smug smile (and perhaps his biceps bulging in his white t-shirt that clung too perfect for Lacie's liking).
"You're messing with us, right?" Lacie blinked and flickered her eyes over to Reed and Ben who shared the same disbelief, suppressing a laugh as both the men ran their hands over their face.
Johnny turned to face the woman beside him, "Why would I?" He shrugged as his figure towered over her own.
"You risked the chances you spontaneously burst into flames and scare the public for quite literally forever, just so you could look at a picture of yourself?" Lacie's eyes twitched as her words came out slowly, making sure Johnny understood the complete arrogance of his decision making (something they should've been used to by now).
Johnny nodded along with her words, "You took the words right out my mouth, darling." He winked and plucked her cereal box out of her hands again, turning his back to the woman who stared at him in disbelief.
Lacie scoffed behind him, "Unbelievable." Ben rolled his eyes as the blonde looked at everyone else in the room, "Johnny, couldn't you have just looked in a mirror or something?"
Johnny shook his head, "My hair looked better in the picture, I was having a good hair day then." Sue had to physically stop herself from letting out the biggest sigh known to man as she questioned how on earth she was related to Johnny.
Reed cleared his throat from across the room, "Just make sure you don't leave unannounced again. It's dangerous for all of us."
"Right," Sue nodded, "Being in here is the safest place for us now. Until we learn and adapt to our powers, we're in lockdown. You know this, Johnny."
Johnny groaned with his mouth full of cereal, ignoring Lacie's protests as he placed the box in his drawer rather than her own. He pushed himself off the counter and took slow steps towards his room, "Well, no need to worry about that anymore." He called over his shoulder.
Ben furrowed his brows, "Why?" Johnny turned back to the group, his eyes bright with mischief that Lacie could read straight through.
"I requested a smaller version of the advertisement to be sent here." Johnny smiled and Lacie crossed her arms over her chest, "You ordered a picture of yourself? What are you gonna do? Frame it in your own room?"
Johnny nodded and his smile grew wider. "Jesus Christ," Lacie's face screwed up, "He's actually in love with himself." She turned to the others and pointed in Johnny's direction.
"Don't worry, Lace. I ordered one for you too." Johnny winked and Lacie scoffed loudly, "And he's arrogant too!"
"I'd pretend to be shocked, but this is on brand for Johnny." Ben sighed and Sue breathed out a laugh beside him. Reed lowered himself onto the chair beside his wife, "This is the most normal thing he's done all week."
As the three of them chuckled between each other and made jabs at Johnny, the man had been taking slow steps away from the group, trying to sneakily depart and embrace the comfort of his own room; his legs were tired from the extensive trek he had taken earlier in the day.
Just as he turned his back towards the group, Lacie noticed his figure moving and found her feet following in his steps.
"That wasn't your cue to leave--" She muttered under her breath and her hand reached up to grip the back of his shirt, the fabric bunched underneath her fist.
As she tried to yank him back to berate him once more, the woman had forgotten her new advancements, typically the ice flowing through her veins. The fabric froze underneath her touch, intertwining with the tips of her fingers. And as Johnny attempted to continue his stride forwards, the shirt tore in half at his chest as Lacie's hand had tried to tug him the other way.
The loud sound of the rip silenced the room, eyes landing on Lacie's outstretched hand and the torn fabric that was dangling from it. Lacie's jaw fell slack and her eyes widened as she watched Johnny's back muscles tense, unsure whether to make eye contact with the shirt that was attached to her palm or at the half naked man in front of her.
Johnny slowly turned around to the culprit, whose face was flushed with embarrassment. He looked down at his bare torso in shock, eyebrows raised at the sudden change in outfit, or lack thereof.
As Johnny turned to face Lacie, the woman couldn't help but let her eyes wander.
Huh.
Apparently in the years that Lacie had known Johnny Storm, she had never familiarised herself with how chiselled the man had gotten. Not that she cared. Obviously.
But had he seriously been hiding this the entire time? His tan skin was just an accessory to what lay underneath the tight white shirts of his. His biceps somehow looked bigger without something covering it; Lacie had known they were bigger than others, the outfits he wore did more than compliment what was easy on the eye but seeing them in their own glory? Lacie was rendered speechless.
Johnny suppressed the biggest smirk as he watched Lacie's eyes fight between looking at his face, his chest and anywhere else in the room.
Lacie swallowed, trying to recover from her sudden dry throat as she heard the scraping of chairs behind her, figuring the rest of the group were heading over to grasp an understanding of their predicament.
As their footsteps approached, Lacie and Johnny just stared at each other, his eyebrows raised as he waited for her to make her usual snarky comment.
But what could she say at that moment? Congratulations on your new improvements?
No, she couldn't boost his ego more than it already is. But I bet your light rod's like bigger than Zeus'?
Lacie cursed herself for not seeing the vision before, she could repress any tiny feelings she had for Johnny under the impression that he wasn't built like a Greek God underneath all the clothes he wore.
Reed appeared beside Lacie and he yanked her hand closer to his face, his eyes scanning over the frost that coated her palm and the back of Johnny's shirt, "You can manipulate ice." He whispered under his breath, barely audible.
Or at least it was to Lacie. She hummed in agreement but refused to tear her eyes away from Johnny's face, his expression smug as the woman seemed enamoured by him. He suppressed the urge to fist bump the air and sprint into his room, digging through all his notes to find the list he had deemed useless as Lacie continued to curse him out. But if all it took for Lacie to finally see him the way he sees her was to simply be shirtless in front of her, he would've burned all his shirts a long time ago.
Ben squinted his eyes as he watched Lacie and Johnny share eye contact that reeked of tension that shouldn't exist in a room full of people, "Come on, Johnny." He tapped his bare shoulder, "Lets save you some modesty."
Ben nodded in the direction of Johnny's room, urging him to put on a shirt before reporting back into Reed's lab, undoubtedly booking hours in there as they worked through Lacie's new powers.
Lacie cleared her throat and peeled the shirt off of her frozen palm, "Sorry." She mumbled and placed the ruined fabric into Johnny's outstretched hand.
She tried to ignore the blush coating her cheeks as Johnny's hand touched her own, avoiding the grin that adorned his face, "No worries, Lace." He said, his voice dropping as if the words were for her to hear only.
Lacie took a deep breath and stepped out of Johnny's reach, watching him turn his back and how the muscles flexed as he walked off (something Johnny definitely did on purpose as he felt eyes burn into his retreating figure).
Reed's voice broke Lacie out of her thoughts, "We need to analyse this. Lacie, do you mind?"
The woman shook her head, her thoughts scrambled, "Not at all." She breathed out and followed Reed to his lab. However, one question kept replaying over and over in her mind.
