Johnny, holding Lacie up with her arm slung over his shoulder, pulled her in and slowly sat her onto the floor.

Lacie sighed and squeezed her eyes shut, letting her head fall back onto the wall behind her. Johnny gently cupped her cheek and squatted down in front of her, "I know, I know." He muttered and gasped for air as he pulled off his helmet along with hers, "Just stay awake for me, alright?"

Lacie opened her eyes and nodded at Johnny, his eyes filled with concern, "Please, Lace." He whispered and rubbed his thumb across her cheekbone. Lacie's body begged for sleep, it was tired and worn out, but she nodded and attempted to smile at Johnny.

"Get us out of here, Ben!" Reed shouted and fired up the ship, looking back at his wife who was groaning in pain.

Ben sat down and turned to the data in front of him, "Stay in there, Sue. We'll get you home." The ship lifted and caused Reed, Sue, Johnny and Lacie to float into the air harshly, Lacie's head connecting with the side of the ship as Johnny's hand slipped from hers.

Lacie grunted at the contact and gritted her teeth together, the impact causing a dull pain to throb in her head, as if she needed anything else to let her close her eyes and let sleep overcome her.

Johnny's hands reached out and yanked Lacie's ankles, pulling her back down to her sitting position. "No, no, no. Come on." He said to himself as he witnessed Lacie's eyes flutter shut.

"Johnny!" Ben shouted from the front of the ship. Johnny groaned and looked between his empty seat and Lacie who fought with herself. He sighed and rested his forehead against Lacie's, "I'll be right back."

Lacie couldn't respond and just watched Johnny float away from her. She reached her hands above her to grab onto anything to haul her tired body up onto her feet.

The scanner beeped with an unknown entity entering their atmosphere, "Surfer on our six!" Ben said to Johnny.

"We have to jump!" Reed shouted beside Sue. "And go where?" Ben furrowed his brow and heard Reed raise his voice in desperation, "Anywhere just jump!"

The ship shook as they attempted to jump and Lacie turned her head to see the wall bend as the Silver Surfer emerged.

The Silver Surfers hand wrapped around Lacie's neck as the other reached out to Sue's belly, slowly seeping in and tightening her grip on Lacie. Sue screamed out for Ben to jump, his hand working the lever to put them out of reach, sending the Silver Surfer flying out of their ship.

Lacie gasped for air and her hands tapped around her neck, the feeling still lingering as she coughed violently. Her body hunched over as short breaths left her throat, her entire body tiring.

"Lace, are you alright?" Johnny shouted and briefly looked behind him, unable to run over to her as they tried to get back home.

Lacie's coughing slowed and she wiped sweat off her forehead, "Define 'alright'." She said, her voice hoarse and throat dry.

"We lost her, all clear." Ben confirmed and sighed in relief.

Lacie sighed and let her head fall forwards, her body floating aimlessly as her shoulders slumped and her body relaxed. Her hair was tied up in a loose bun, pieces falling out and all over the place as the zero gravity took control.

Johnny peered over his shoulder and watched Lacie drift near the back of the ship, her head lulling with sweat coating her skin. "Lace, come on." He called out and immediately leaped out of his seat when she didn't respond, her mouth opening and closing but unable to form coherent sentences.

Lacie felt a hand wrap around her wrist and the other cup the back of her head, "You said you'd stay awake." He whispered and guided her down to his height, "Can't be breaking promises now, can we?" He tried to joke but his concern was laced in his voice.

The monitor in front of Ben started beeping and he furrowed his brows, "She's still on us."

Sue groaned and sent a pointed look at her brother beside her, "Johnny, kill her."

Johnny snapped his head around to face his sister and blinked, "Really?" He looked between Lacie who was struggling to stay conscious and the seat that would allow him to open fire.

"Yes! She wants to take your nephew and kill Lacie!" Sue shouted, "Kill her!"

Without thinking, Johnny launched himself over to the chair and took Lacie with him, "Alright! Alright!" He shouted back.

He settled in the chair and scooched over so Lacie could sit with him, one arm over her shoulders and latched onto the grips, securing her tight between Johnny and the ship so she wouldn't be out of his sight.

Lacie groaned quietly as her head throbbed and Johnny tapped her cheek, "How about this? I'll propose a deal." Lacie furrowed her brows and looked at Johnny with hooded eyes, "Do you think now is the right time?"

Johnny nodded as if it was obvious, "If you stay awake and help me kill this silver woman who clearly hates you--" "Thanks for that." Lacie cut him off with a sarcastic comment.

"Besides the point!" Johnny spoke over her, "I promise to you that we'll watch that weird show you love so much when we get home." Lacie raised her eyebrows, knowing Johnny had simply rolled his eyes anytime she had proposed the idea of even making Johnny be present in the room while she indulged in her show.

"Really?" A smile crept up on her face. Johnny nodded, the corners of his mouth tipping up, "And you can wear that sweater of mine you love."

Lacie opened her mouth to deflect, "Don't deny it, Lace. I see you eyeing it up everyday." Johnny laughed and gently encouraged her head to look at the Silver Surfer approaching.

"We got a deal?" Johnny asked and placed his hand on top of hers, making her hold the right hand side of the weapon. "Deal." Lacie nodded and felt the warmth of his hand engulf her own.

Johnny fired up the gun and took its first shot, the jump they were currently taking causing the aim to bend and avoid the Silver Surfer. "It's bending the beam!" Johnny shouted to Ben.

Lacie broke a sweat as Johnny rapidly fired and the woman dodged it as if it was nothing, "Shit. She actually is going to be the death of me." She flinched as Johnny flicked her arm, "Don't even joke about that, Lace! Not when I'm under pressure!"

Johnny's frustration grew, "Reed, I can't get a lock on her!" The man in question ignored Johnny and dedicated his entire focus on his wife currently in labor. "Figure it out. Figure it out." He muttered to himself.

Lacie leaned into the Human Torch, "Come on, Johnny." She whispered encouragement to him.

"Johnny, quit screwing around!" Ben shouted from afar which made Johnny snap, "Do I tell you how to drive the ship? Don't tell me how to save sexy superheroes!"

Lacie widened her eyes and looked at him, "What did you say?"

"Don't call Lacie sexy in front of us, it's weird!" Ben shouted back and cringed, the idea of Johnny verbalising something so spontaneous while his sister was in the middle of having a child behind him.

Lacie shifted her body to face Johnny completely, "We're bringing that back up when we land, Flame Boy!" Johnny's cheeks turned a shade red and avoided eye contact with the woman next to him.

Johnny fired around the wormhole, watching the beam whirl around and strike the Silver Surfer, causing her to fall off her board and out of sight.

Lacie cheered and flung her arm around the back of Johnny's neck, pulling him flush against her side, "I could kiss you right now!" She said without thinking, laughing as a weight fell off her shoulders and a target was snatched off her back.

Johnny snapped his head towards her, "Please." The words slipped from his mouth and Lacie's smile faltered.

"Johnny!" Sue scolded him from her position and the pair's eyes were pulled off each other as the monitor beeped again.

They watched as the Silver Surfer reappeared on her board, body without a single scratch on her. Lacie's chest tightened, "She's back! Oh, fuck! I'm so dead!" She shouted to Ben who could practically see her running her hands through hair in stress.

"Reed, I can't shake her!" Ben shouted and Reed moved away from a wailing Sue, "Working on it!" He responded.

Johnny's grip tightened on Lacie's hand, "She's slippery!" Lacie's hands started getting clammy and Ben's voice raised at Reed once again, "Reed!"

Reed moved so he stood beside Ben, "Drop us out of FTL here." And pointed at the screen. Ben raised his brows at Mr Fantastic and questioned his ideas.

Lacie looked over at Sue who was writhing in pain, hand clutched against her stomach. Lacie was about to make a move to comfort her and help her in any way she could, but Johnny snatched her back to the seat with a hand around her waist.

"Isn't that basically a black hole? Won't that kill us?" Johnny asked Reed, his reasoning for keeping his hands on Lacie being that he needed to keep her safe at all costs

Lacie tilted her head and raised her brows, "Apparently I'm gonna die anyway so might as well make it interesting."

"That's not funny, Lacie!" Reed scolded her and didn't take his eyes off the screens in front of him.

"Taking us out." Ben said to himself more than anyone, trying to keep him composure while Lacie, Sue and her child's life was on the line.

The ship moved quickly and reappeared with a yellow glow on the other side of the glass. Lacie gasped as the black hole stared at them from afar, feeling like a metaphor for everything she had learnt about herself and her fate in the last hour.

"What's the plan?" Ben said as the Silver Surfer remained on their trail. "Draw her close enough to the star, she'll get stuck and she'll get stuck in the gravity well. There will be a time dilation." Reed explained, sweat dripping down his forehead.

"How much of a dilation?" Johnny shouted. "Even more than mine?" Sue quipped and Johnny stayed silent, nodding as he couldn't really deny her.

Lacie turned to watch Sue, seeing her throw her head back in pain. "I'm helping her." Lacie said and Johnny immediately shook his head, "No you're not. You're helping me right now, Lace!"

Frostbite widened her eyes, "No, Johnny! I'm not helping! I'm sitting here while you call me sexy and we nearly kiss!"

Johnny squinted his eyes, "So you actually wanted to kiss me?"

"Not the time!" Lacie and Sue shouted in unison. The Human Torch groaned and nudged her, "Fine! Go help my sister and our deal is off!"

Lacie stood up and pointed her finger at Johnny, "Deal is so still on, Flame Boy! I'm awake, no?" The man groaned and gave into Lacie's reasoning.

"And I'm keeping your damn sweater!" Lacie quipped one last time before arriving behind Sue, her hands supporting her head and brushing her hair away from her sweaty face.

What she missed was Johnny shaking his head, a smile etched on his face knowing full well that his plans with Lacie never changed, and that sweater of his already has her name on it.

Reed looked at his wife, "Sue, we need thirty seconds of invisibility. Can you do it? After your next contraction?"

Sue wailed in pain and placed the tips of her fingers on the table, arching her back and lifting her head up. Lacie comforted her by putting her hands on the back of her neck, hands frozen and sending a cold chill through Sue's body as it burned with heat and sweat.

The ship turned invisible and out of sight from the Silver Surfer, causing her to lift her hand above her eyes to shield it from the black hole she was approaching. She reached out as she was sucked in and felt the youngest Fantastic Five member and Lacie slip from her touch.

"Yes!" Johnny shouted and glanced over at Sue and Lacie, "You alright, Sue?"

Lacie pushed Sue's hair away from her face, "I know. I know." She mumbled and kept her hands cold, her palms turning a shade blue.

"We need to strap you down." Reed moved towards Sue. Johnny approached her with his arms out, "Strapping her down."

"Do not strap me down!" Sue's forcefield shoved Johnny against the wall and out of her reach. "Not strapping her down." He sighed and moved around to stand behind his sister with Lacie.

Johnny's hands brushed against Lacie's shoulders, "Are you sure you should be doing that right now?" He nodded towards her frosty hands.

Lacie simply shrugged and let her body rest against Johnny's chest. "Lace, seriously. You just got frozen from the inside, I don't think you should be doing that yet."

Sue's hands flailed and gently pushed Lacie's away, almost as if the thought and realisation had just hit her. "Lacie, stop. I'm fine." She said, shaking her head as Lacie tried to deny her, "Please, look after yourself."

Lacie slowly nodded and retracted her hands, her fingers trembling as her already weak body finally let itself relax. Johnny caught her body falling backwards, his fingers toying with the belt on her suit and his head tucked into her shoulder whispering sweet nothings.

Sue began rambling, her worries about her child coming to surface as she convinced herself the past few months that they were going to be fine and normal; but Galactus' sudden bombshell that he wanted their child threw a spanner in the works.

Reed gently and slowly urged her to lie down on the table and scoot out of her trousers, his hand wrapped around her own. Sue began pushing as Ben tried to get the Fantastic Five out of space.

Johnny remained behind Lacie, his face hidden to protect his sister's privacy in Frostbite's shoulder. Lacie sighed and threaded her hand through his hair, massaging his scalp.

"I'm gonna make you like that show, you know?" She whispered tiredly and felt Johnny nuzzle his nose into her, "Yeah?" His voice came out rough.

Lacie nodded, "Most definitely." A tired smile grew on her face as Sue's yelling grew quieter and was replaced by the crying of someone much younger.

Lacie's face softened and she tugged lightly on Johnny's hair to encourage him to look up at the small hand reaching out. Johnny sighed as he watched his nephew be cradled by his sister.

"Franklin." Sue mumbled as she stared down at her child, his small face and eyes blinking up at her making her creases soften on her forehead.

Reed brushed his knuckles against Franklin's cheeks, his hands much larger compared to his son's face. A smile grew on everyone's face, the worries and inevitably of their lives momentarily forgotten as they stared at the newest member.

Johnny swallowed when he realised he was officially an uncle now. He couldn't help but glance at Lacie whose brows were upturned and mouth parted slightly.

Johnny reached out to brush a stray hair behind Lacie's ear, "You'd make a great mother. You know that, don't you?"

He watched her as she turned to him and a smile spread across her face. She simply nodded at him and couldn't trust her words in this moment of vulnerability.

In traditional Johnny Storm fashion, he twisted Lacie's hair in his finger and whispered just for her, "We'd have beautiful kids." With a smug smile on his face.

Lacie sighed and tried to ignore her heart beating heavily, she poked her finger on his chest and shook her head, still sporting her pretty smile, "And you've gone too far."
