Chapter 5: Somebody Else

"No girl don't lie-li-li-lie, you can't deny-ny-ny-ny.."

Emme woke up feeling lighter than air in silk soft sheets and a smile on her face along with a slight headache. Though her good mood did not last long as the memories of last night made their way into her mind. That's when she felt the all too familiar arm around her waist with the all to familiar possessive hold.

She tried to get out of the hold but it didn't budge so she pinched him hard.. Thankful for her long fake nails she put on before the party. It seemed to work as his grip loosened.

"Where are you going, dove?" Coriolanus asked as Emme froze before quickly getting up.

"Don't call me that." Emme snapped as she moved to grab her clothes.

Coriolanus smirked before moving up behind her. Pushing her hair away from her neck and placing light feathery kisses along. Emme's eyes fluttered shut for a moment before snapping back and pulling away harshly.

"Don't pretend you don't like it." Coriolanus said getting up putting his pants on.

"I hate you." Emme seethed as she glared at him. Coriolanus turned to her with an amused smirk after slipping in his shirt. Before bringing her chin up to look at him. Her gaze reluctantly met his.

"You try but you don't. You never will. And one day I'll get you back." He said. Emme pulled her face away glaring at him as she slipped her dress back on and grabbing her clutch purse.

"Last night was a mistake and the day I come back is when hell freezes over." Emme said coldly before taking her leave. Letting him watch her.

Not realising that last night is a start of a long tengo. He's not letting her go and after last night only fuelled his drive to get her back even more than before.

As Emme got home feeling sick. Thankfully Ashe was nowhere to be seen. She couldn't believe what happened last night. How could she do this to Ashe? To the memory of Sejanus and Lucy Gray? To herself?

She had decided to tell Ashe about last night but at the same time they have been going through a rough patch. More tiffs between them and guard walls. Before the week before the gala they had got into a huge blowout fight. Which later was resolved into the solution that they were both to busy and needed to clear more time for each other.

Emme thought about it the whole walk home and had finally decided to not tell him about last night it was insignificant and would never happen again. Plus it would cause an even bigger unwanted and needed argument. Just then she heard the door open which meant Ashe was home.

"Hey beautiful." He said as he watched her. Emme smiled.

"Hey." She said.

"How was the rest of your night? Sorry I had to leave early, hopefully it wasn't to awful." Ashe said as he took off his coat.

"It was fine. I didn't stay much longer. I caught a ride with Lyssie. How was your evening?" Emme asked as they sat together on the sofa.

"Busy. The client was a tough negotiator took half the night into early morning to work through the problem but eventually we got through it." Ashe said.

"Sounds rough. Are you sure you're not tired?" Emme asked. Ashe smiled pulling her into him.

"I'm sure. This is perfect right here."

A few weeks later.

Since that night happened her and Ashe have still been a bit of a rut still but it's maintaining. Not as bad as it was before the Gala. Other Good news is that thankfully Emme hasn't heard anything from Coriolanus. Which she was very grateful for. She did accidentally let it slip to Lyssie about that night but Lyssie being a girls girl promised to keep it under wraps.

Emme made her way home from work feeling calm and happy. Her and Ashe were finally getting out of the rut. Her boss has been extremely pleased with her work. She has great friends. And it was overall a good day. As she opened the door her smiled quickly faded when her eyes were met with a giant bouquet of white roses. Her jaw clenched knowing exactly who it was from as she grabbed the vase and through it in the garbage and ripping up the note. With a roll of her eyes. She was not going to let him get to her. She was done with him.

' -Lie- she was never done with him. Why do you think you and Ashe haven't been in good terms? Or that night happened?' She thought before sighing and shaking the thought away before starting to prepare dinner for her an Ashe.

But she couldn't help but wonder what her and Coriolanus would be doing now if it wasn't true of what he did. Little does she know he has a despicable plan that will go in his favor far more than he thought...
