Chapter 9 (Christmas special)

It's the afternoon of Christmas Eve. I'm laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling with a piece of paper in my hand. You may be wondering why I'm deeply staring at the ceiling with paper in my hand. Its not blank. But, the words "Karma Akabane" are contained on this piece of paper. The reason why, is Rio is having a Christmas party tonight and we're doing a secret Santa. And I'm the one, who surprisingly got my boyfriend, Karma. It may seem like I would easily know what to get him since we have been friends for MANY years. But it really isn't that easy. I've asked him what he wanted -I didn't make it obvious that I got him as a secret Santa. Cause you know. It would be polite for me to get something for him anyways.- and he hasn't told me. And I asked him many times, yet no response. I looked over to my clock which said 2:37. The party is in 2 hours and twenty three minutes. Yet I still haven't the slightest idea of what to get Karma. I looked over at my calendar. I saw the word "Birthday" on the 25th. I walked over to it, and it said karmas birthday. Oh my. I was so caught up in what to get him as a gift for secret Santa, I didn't have time to remember that his birthday is tomorrow. Since its Christmas eve and there are some stores open, I'm going to go buy two gifts, I hope he'll like them

Hours have passed and its finally time for Rio's Christmas party. I dresses myself in a red spaghetti strap dress that flows below my knees, high green socks, and some white shoes. I also put in on a Christmas hat to get in the spirit. I looked at the two gifts I got him, trying to decide which one to give him tomorrow. I took one of them, grabbed my keys and my sweater and left. It was only 5:30 so I'm sure to make it on time. I ran out of my room and almost down the stairs, only to get caught by haru... Again.

"And where do you think you're going,little miss?"

"Nakamura-San is having a Christmas party tonight... So I'm going to her house"

"And who's that gift for?

"Secret Santa... Bye gotta go!" I said as I zoomed past Haru, down the stairs and almost out the door.

"(F/N) where are you going?"

I let out a big sigh.

"Christmas part and the gift is for secret Santa. Okay bye!"

"You're not going anywhere"

What did I do wrong?

"How dare you try and go to a Christmas party.... With only a gift in your hand and no food? If you're going to a Christmas party you have to take something with you other than a stupid gift."

My mom walked over to me and handed me a box.

"What's in it?"

"You'll see when you get there just go."

I rolled my eyes as I walked out the door and made my way over to Rio's house. I got there in 10 minutes since she doesn't live far from me. I walked up to the front step and knocked on her door. She opened the door and looked at the gift that I held in my hand.

"o.o what's that? Who's that for? What's in it? How much did it cost?"

I rolled my eyes.

"That's for me to know. And for YOU to find out during secret Santa."

I said, as I walked into her house and sat on her couch. I could hear her go 'rawr' in the background. She closed the door and sat next to me. Of course I was the first one here.

"So who did you get for a secret Santa? Huh? Huh? Huh??????"

She said as she continuously poked me. I hit her hand and looked away.

"Just wait"

I was literally able to hear her smirk grow. Just then, I was saved by the bell. Literally. Rio went over to the door and opened it.

"Oh hey Karma..."

When I heard the name 'Karma' I hid behind the couch.

"(F/N) is right over... There.....?"

She ended her sentence in question. I have no idea why I hid, I just haven't seen Karma since school started again and I got a bit nervous. Yea yea,I bet you're wondering, 'Don't you guys live right next to eachother. AND you're dating?' well see, I've been so caught up in school work I haven't had the chance to talk to Karma. Not even during the weekends. Now that its finally Christmas break, you would think that I would be able to spent some time with him right? Well, that's where you go wrong. I've been so busy with helping my family with decorations and everything, I wasn't able to even text Karma. But- there it is. The smirk so big that I could hear it.

"(F/N) I know you're behind the couch. Just come out already"

I got up from behind the couch and sat on it once again. I looked away from the both of them with a pout on my face. Then I remembered the box -of I don't know what's- that my mom gave me before I left. I walked over to the table with food on it, and placed the box next to fruit punch bowl. I peeked inside the box and it turned out to be a bunch of Christmas cupcakes. I sat back down and placed Karmas gift on the coffee table infront of me. A few minutes have passed and I'm pretty sure that everyone has arrived by now. Since everyone arrived, it was time for the secret Santa. I handed my gift to Karma.

"I got you as my secret Santa."

I watched Karma open my gift for him as it was a rare spice from America when I traveled there this winter break. I was told that he likes collecting spices from around the world.

"I didn't know what to get you but I wad told (more like I read on wiki)that you like collecting spices around the world and this is a very rare one that I-"

I was cut off. By Karma kissing me, that slick bastard.

"Wh-what was that for?"

"Huh~so I can't kiss my girlfriend under the mistle toe?"

He said,as he pointed above the mistle toe. I looked away and blushed. Then I heard Nakamura talking as she walled closer to us.

"Why are you blushing, its not like this is the first time has kissed you before."

She has a point there. So,the Christmas party continued, things happened,we ate cake,nagisa kissed Kayano blah blah blah. It was a fun Christmas party. Karma and I walked home together -since we do live next to eachother. And of course, my dad was staring at us and waiting for me to come in. It was a great night. But now,I have to plan for tomorrow. I went to sleep and woke up the next morning. I put on my jeans,some boots, a shirt and a jacket. I looked outside the window to see Karma walking around. I texted him to meet me outside earlier. I ran downstairs walked up to him. I handed him a wrapped box and said

"Happy birthday, Karma"

He looked confused, as if he didn't know that I knew it was his birthday.

"And don't ask how I know cause of course I know we've known eachother since kindergarten."

I said and smiled. I saw him attempt to open it but I stopped him.

"Wait till later to open that."

I said and then hugged him. And surrey it started snowing. Weird, and random. I looked up at the snowing sky and caught a small snowflake in my hand.

"(F\N), follow me."

"Are we going somewhere?"

"Yea"

And so, Karma and I spent the whole day together, we had breakfast together, we walked around the mall which was surprisingly open. It wad fun. I returned home at 8 but just before I went inside, Karma stopped me and handed me a box shaped like a rectangle.

"Huh? T-thanks."

I attempted to open it but this time Karma stopped me. As he told me to wait to open it. When I got inside Haru was waiting at the couch, as if he was ready to mock me.

"Whatcha got there?"

"None of your beeswax"

I ran upstairs and closed my room door. I opened the box and saw a a necklace.I held up the necklace and put it on. I praised it. I looked out the window to see Karma staring into my window.

"Merry Christmas and happy birthday you stalker."

I said to the open window.

"Ne~ so I'm the stalker?"

He raised up the gift that I got him as if he was mocking me. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Shush you sadistic tomato"

I closed the window and plopped down on my bed. These last two days were great. Thank you...
