Chapter six
02:05, 24 November 2015Chapter 6
"Town to town, two-lane roads. The family biz- two huntin' bros! Living the lie, just to get by~"
"Oh my god. What the hell." Alex laughed as she watched Sam and Dean being forced to act out cheesy T.V shows. "This is amazing."
~
"Hey, how about we have some fun?" Gabriel looked over to the girl with jet black hair.
"Oh, like how drinking coffee was fun?" Alex replied sarcastically. "I'll pass."
"Hey! You looked like you were having fun messing with the cashier!"
Alex smirked, "Yeah but he deserved it. He was a dick."
"Then why don't we go mess with more dicks?" Gabriel suggested. "That came out wrong." Alex raised an eyebrow at him as they walked down the sidewalk.
"Yeah, sure."
"Bill Randolph. Kind of a hot-head if you ask me," Alex commented as they watched Mr.Randolph walk through the woods.
"And how would you like to deal with this hot-head?" Gabriel asked, taking a bite out of another candy bar, throwing the wrapper aside.
"Hmm..." Alex thought. "You know the Hulk?"
Gabriel smirked, liking where this was going, "Alright. We can do that."
Seconds later they were watching as Mr.Randolph screamed and ran from the woods back to his house, a large green man chasing after him. Gabriel and Alex followed, but stayed out of sight and tried not to make too much noise with their laughter.
Randolph ran up to his doorstep, quickly opening the door and locking it shut behind him. Hulk paid no attention to the closed door and easily ran through it, chasing Randolph into his bedroom and killing him.
"I almost feel bad for laughing." Alex laughed.
"Well he deserved it." Gabriel pointed out.
"Yeah..." Alex chuckled.
"We should get going before dumb and dumber get here." Gabriel stood up from their hiding spot.
Alex stood as well, "Who?"
"Yanno, the Winchesters?" Gabriel stated like it was obvious. "They're in town."
"Oh?" Alex asked, still confused.
Gabriel looked at her in disbelief, "Don't tell me you've never heard of them?"
Alex shook her head as they were teleported to a white room. "Nope."
"Seriously? Where have you been? Under a rock?"
"Well, no. But I don't really know any other hunters, which I'm assuming they are." Alex looked around the room. "Where the hell are we anyway?"
"It's a room I made, so we can watch the show." Gabriel smiled.
"Show...?"
"You're a little slow sometimes aren't you?"
"Shut up."
"Watch," Gabriel snapped and turned on the large T.V across the room. A sofa appeared behind them and Gabriel gestured for her to sit down.
Alex raised an eyebrow but listened, "This should be interesting..." She muttered as she watched a black impala pull up beside the abandoned building it was sent to. Wait a minute... Alex narrowed her eyes. Sam and Dean? They're the Winchesters?! How could I be so stupid!
"Recognize them?" Gabriel asked, watching her.
"Uh...Yeah..." Alex muttered, then said louder, "I actually met them on a hunt once. I didn't know they were the Winchesters though..."
"Oh wow," Gabriel laughed. "Well, I gotta go, I have my own part to play in all of this."
"Woah, wait, I want in too." Alex stood up.
"Alright...How about this?" He snapped and Alex's entire appearance changed. "You're name is Dr. Ellen Piccolo. A sexy doctor at Seattle Mercy Hospital." Gabriel smirked.
"Woah." Alex marveled. Even my voice is different.
"If you're gonna do this, you have to play the part, okay? You can't break character." Gabriel warned, his own appearance changing into another doctor with the nametag, "Dr.Sexy"
"Ok, ok. I will." Alex agreed.
"Then let's go."
~
Alex acted like she was talking to the secretary at the front desk of Seattle Mercy Hospital, before she heard Sam and Dean's voices. She smiled a little but turned around, acting pissed off. "Doctor." She stomped up to Sam and slapped him across the face. Damn, that felt good.
"Ow!" Sam exclaimed, looking down at her with a confused and surprised expression.
"Seriously?" Alex snapped.
"What?" Sam shook his head a little, still very confused.
"Seriously." Alex repeated as Dean looked at her as if he knew her from somewhere. "You're brilliant, you know that? And a cowered. You're a brilliant cowered."
"Uh. What are you talking about?"
Alex slapped him again, "As if you don't know." She then stomped off, walking around a corner before making herself invisible, wanting to know what they'd do next.
"I don't believe this." Dean marveled, looking in the direction Alex walked off.
"What..?" Sam asked, not catching on.
"That was Dr.Piccolo."
"Who?"
"Dr. Ellen Piccolo." Dean said walking forward. "The sexy-yet-earnest doctor at..." He paused and looked at the wall behind the secretary's desk, where the name of the hospital was written in large white lettering. "Seattle Mercy Hospital!" He exclaimed, gesturing to the wall.
"Uh. Dean? What the hell are you talking about?" Sam walked over to Dean and put his hand on his shoulder.
"The doctor getups. The...the...the sexy interns. The 'seriouslys'. It all makes sense!"
"What makes sense! What's going on?" Alex held back a laugh at how oblivious Sam was to the situation.
"We're in 'Dr.Sexy, M.D.'" Sam gave Dean a horrified-yet-confused look.
~
The brothers had been wandering around the hospital, Alex following while trying to find Gabriel to learn what to do next.
"Dude, what the hell." Dean suddenly asked.
"I don't know." Sam replied, clueless.
"No, seriously. What the hell." Dean looked to Sam for an answer.
"I don't know." Sam repeated.
"One theory, any theory."
"Uh. The trickster trapped us in T.V land." Sam offered.
So they don't know Gabe's really an angel, huh? Alex thought as she followed them.
"That's your theory? That's stupid."
Stupid yes, Alex thought. But true.
"You're the one who said we're in 'Dr.Sexy, M.D." Sam retorted.
"Yeah, but T.V land isn't T.V land! I mean there's actors, a-and lights, and crew members. You know? This looks real!" Dean said, looking around.
"Dean, how can this possibly be real?" Sam stopped walking.
Dean stopped as well, "I don't know alright..." He got distracted as another female doctor walked past. "Oh there goes Dr.Wang. The sexy-but-arrogant heart surgeon"
"And there's Johnny Drake..." Dean continued. "Oh, he's not even alive, he's a ghost in the mind of..." They watched as another female doctor with dark hair walked over to the man sitting on a gurney. "Of her. the sexy-but-neurotic doctor. " Dean ended as she stood beside Johnny.
"So this show has ghosts?" Sam scoffed. "Why?"
"I don't know... It is compelling." Dean admitted.
"I thought you said you weren't a fan?" Sam raised an eyebrow as Dean tried to defend himself.
Dean then turned and looked down a hall, Alex and Sam following his gaze. "Oh boy... It's him... It's him! It's Dr.Sexy." Dean turned back to Sam, trying to control himself.
You sure you're 100% straight, Dean? Alex held back another laugh.
"Doctor." Dr.Sexy aka Gabriel greeted as he stopped in front of Sam and Dean.
"Doctor," Dean choked out.
"Doctor." Gabriel repeated, turning to Sam and waiting for a reply. When none came, Dean kicked Sam, forcing him to reply with another 'Doctor.' "You want to give me one good reason why you defied my direct order to do the experimental face transplant on Mrs. Beale?"
"One reason?" Dean clarified. When Gabriel nodded he then said, "Sure...." Dean's eyes landed on 'Dr.Sexy''s shoes and he narrowed his eyes. Dean looked back up at Gabriel and pinned him to the wall.
"You're not Dr.Sexy."
"You're crazy," Gabriel replied, not ready to break character yet.
"Really?" Dean questioned. "Cause I swore part of what made Dr.Sexy sexy, was the fact that he wears cowboy boots. Not tennis shoes."
"Yeah..." Sam scoffed from behind them. "You're not a fan."
"It's a guilty pleasure." Dean defended himself.
"Call security." Gabriel asked one of the other doctors.
"Yeah you go ahead pal. See, we know what you are." Sam and Dean looked around as everything froze around them.
Dean turned back to Gabriel as he shapeshifted into his normal self. "You guys are getting better!"
"Get us the hell out of here." Dean growled.
"Or what? Don't see your wooden stakes, big guy." Gabriel said as he moved Dean's arm off him easily.
"That was you on the police scanner right? This is a trick." Sam stated angrily.
"Hello," Gabriel said, drawing out the 'o'. "Trickster! C'mon!" He raised his arms. "I heard you two yahoos were in town, how could I resist?!"
"Where the hell are we?"
"Like it?" Gabriel smiled. "It's all homemade," He continued, knocking on a door "My own sets, my own actors," He gestured towards the frozen people before twirling around to face the brothers. "Call it my own little idiot box."
"How do we get out?" Dean glared at Gabriel.
"That, my friend," Gabriel pointed at Dean. "Is the sixty-four dollar question."
"Whatever, We just- We need to talk to you. We need your help." Alex looked over at Sam questioningly from where she stood behind Gabriel, although the brothers couldn't see her.
"Hmm. Let me guess," Gabriel said sarcastically, "You two muttonheads broke the world, and you want me to sweep up your mess."
"Please," Sam pushed. "Just five minutes, hear us out."
"Sure," Gabriel agreed. "Tell you what, survive the next 24 hours, we'll talk."
"Survive what?" Dean asked.
"The game!" Gabriel exclaimed.
"What game?"
"You're in it."
"How do we play?"
"You're playing it."
"What are the rules?" Gabriel didn't answer, he just wiggled his eyebrows and teleported himself, and Alex, back to the white room. Alex looked down at herself and noticed she looked like her normal self.
"You wanna go back in there?" He asked, sitting down on the sofa.
"Nah. I'm good." Alex chuckled, sitting beside him. They watched the screen as a man shot Dean in the back. "Is that real?" Alex looked over at Gabriel.
"Yep. He'll be fine though. All part of the game." Gabriel smirked.
The two continued to watch as the scene changed and a Japanese man introduced a game called 'Nut-Cracker' "Oh this will be good." Alex smiled. She laughed as Sam struggled to understand the man, failing to give him an answer before time ran out.
Suddenly, a large ball hit Sam in his sensitive area, making Dean and Alex both gasp. The Japanese man went over to a girl and they began to speak in Japanese about some food product. Then the doors which the man had come through reopened, a man with black hair and a trench coat walking through.
"Hey!" Alex stood up. "That's one of the angels that tried to kill me!" she turned to Gabriel, "How the hell did he get in?!"
Gabriel looked at the screen and snapped, zapping the angel away from the Winchesters. "I'm not sure how he got in, but he's now in the next room."
"I'll kill him!" Alex growled, going over to the only door in the room.
"Woah, woah, wait." Gabriel caught up to her and grabbed her arm. "You can't kill him."
"Why not?" Alex pulled away from him and turned to face him.
"Well he is my brother."
"Yeah well your brother is a dick." Alex crossed her arms.
Gabriel sighed. "Fine, do whatever. Just don't kill him."
Alex smirked and went into the other room where she found the angel tied up. "Why hello there." She drew out the 'o'.
The angel narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing here."
"I could ask you the same thing." She threw a punch and hit him in the temple. She threw a few more before the rope tying the angel to the chair snapped, which he did using his own power, and he teleported away. "No, fuck." Alex looked around the room.
"He get away?" Gabriel asked, standing at the door.
"Yes." Alex grumbled.
"I'll handle it. Stay here." Gabriel ordered.
Alex sighed and walked back into the room the T.V was in and watched the angel try to explain to the boys that the 'trickster' was too powerful to actually be one. She crossed her arms, waiting for Gabriel to come in. The angel flew across the room and hit a wall, and Gabriel ran in happily thanking the fake audience as they cheered.
The angel stood and turned to look at him, duct tape covering his mouth. "Hey Castiel!" Gabriel greeted gleefully. Sam, Dean and Castiel all exchanged looks. Then, with a wave of his hand, Castiel was gone. Probably back in that room. Alex thought.
"You know him?" Sam asked, baffled.
"Where did you just send him?" Dean demanded.
"Relax, he'll live... Maybe..." Gabriel 'assured' them.
Instead of beating up Castiel more, which she really wanted to do, Alex controlled herself and watched as Gabriel explained the meaning of the 'game' they had been playing. She watched as Gabriel got angry at Dean for asking about which side- heaven or hell -that he was on, pinning him against the wall. Well I suppose it makes sense. Michael and Lucifer are his brothers, Gabe probably doesn't want to pick a side.
Gabriel snapped, and Alex looked around, expecting to see him appear in the room again. When he didn't, Alex sighed again and plopped down on the couch. Great, you're leaving me here alone with nothing to do... Well, no. I could go fuck with that angel...Castiel...more.
Alex turned her attention back to the T.V and laughed at the stupid jokes the boys were making while they were on a procedural cop show. "Oh my god..." She chuckled. She raised an eyebrow as Dean stabbed the forensics officer with a stick. "Idiots..." She muttered, knowing it wasn't Gabriel.
"You got the wrong guy, idiot." Gabriel laughed, morphing into his original form from his disguise as a random police officer.
"Did we?" Dean questioned as Sam came up behind Gabriel, stabbing him with a wooden stake.
"Ouch.." Alex muttered. That won't kill him, but I bet it hurts like hell. She figured Gabriel would get back up or something, but surprisingly, he didn't. Alex frowned and watched as the scene changed to the abandoned building and Sam and Dean drove off.
Alex stood when she heard a fluttering of wings. She looked over at Gabriel confused, "Why'd you let them leave?"
"I didn't. They think they're out, but they're not." Gabriel smirked.
"Okay..." Alex raised an eyebrow.
~
"All right you son of a bitch!" Dean yelled at nothing. "Uncle! We'll do it!"
"Should I honk?" Sam, who had turned into the Impala, asked.
"Can I come?" Alex looked over at Gabriel.
"I don't think that's a good idea. You said they know you, right? Won't they be a little confused that you're with me?" Gabriel stood, ready to confront the boys.
"How come you get to have all the fun." She pouted.
Gabriel chuckled and zapped himself to the brothers, Alex watching them on the T.V.
"Wow, Sam, get a load of the rims on you." Gabriel strolled over to the Impala.
"Eat me." Sam snapped back.
Gabriel whistled before walking in front of Dean, "Okay, boys, ready to go quietly?"
"Woah, woah, woah, not so fast," Dean stopped him. "Nobody's going anywhere until Sam has opposable thumbs." He then pointed at Sam.
"What's the difference? Satan's gonna ride his ass one way or another." Gabriel shrugged. Dean glared at him and Gabriel rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers.
A door to the car opened and Sam climbed out, glaring at Gabriel. "Happy?" Gabriel asked sarcastically.
"Tell me one thing, why didn't the stake kill you?" Dean asked as Sam walked up beside him.
"I am the trickster." Gabriel insisted.
"But maybe you're not," Dean denounced as Sam lit a cigarette lighter. He then tossed the ring to the ground, and a ring of flames surrounded Gabriel. Alex narrowed her eyes. "Maybe you've always been an angel." Dean finished.
Gabriel laughed, "A what!? Somebody slip a mickey in your power shake, kid?"
"I'll tell ya what, you just jump out of the holy fire, and we'll call it our mistake." Dean proposed.
Gabriel chuckled, then became serious, realizing he had no choice but to fess up. The scene changed once again and they were back at the abandoned building, and Gabriel began clapping.
"Well played boys, well played." He lowered his hands then asked, "Where'd you get the holy oil?"
"Oh, you might say we pulled it out of Sam's ass." Sam gave Dean a look.
"Where'd I screw up?"
"You didn't. But nobody get's the jump on Cas like you did."
"Mostly it was the way you talked about armageddon." Dean added.
"Meaning?" Gabriel asked.
"Well, call it personal experience, but nobody get's that angry unless they're talking about their own family." Dean explained.
Gabriel stayed silent. "So which one are you?" Sam questioned. "Grumpy, sneezy or douchey?"
"Gabriel okay?" He admitted. "They call me Gabriel."
"Gabriel?" Sam echoed. "The archangel?"
"Guilty."
"Okay, Gabriel," Dean addressed him. "How does an archangel become the trickster?"
"My own, private, witness protection." The brothers gave Gabriel confused looks. "Skipped out of heaven, got a face transplant, carved out my own little corner of the world, until you two screwed it all up." He explained.
"And what did daddy say when you ran off and joined the pagans?" Dean questioned.
"Daddy doesn't say anything about anything." Gabriel said simply.
"Then what happened? Why'd you ditch?"
"Well do you blame him? I mean his brothers are heavyweight douchenozzles." Dean pointed out. Alex snorted as she watched from the couch. Well I can't disagree.
"Shut your cake hole." Gabriel hissed. "You don't know anything about my family. I loved my father, my brothers- loved them. But watching them turn on each other? Tear at each others throats? I couldn't bear it, okay!? So I left. And now it's happening all over again." He shook his head.
"Then help us stop it!" Sam argued.
"It can't be stopped." Gabriel glowered at Sam.
"You want to see the end of the world?" Dean assumed.
"I want it to be over!" Gabriel yelled. "I have to sit back and watch my own brothers kill each other, thanks to you two! Heaven, Hell, I don't care who wins!" He ranted. "I just want it to be over."
"It doesn't have to be like that." Sam insisted. I wish. Alex sighed. "There has to be some way to pull the plug."
Gabriel laughed, "Oh, you do not know my family. What you guys call the apocalypse, I used to call Sunday dinner! That's why there's no stopping this. Because this isn't about war. This is about two brothers who loved each other, and betrayed each other. You think you'd be able to relate!"
"If that's the case why am I tangled in this mess..." Alex muttered, getting up from the couch a walking into the room the angel, Castiel, was in.
He wasn't tied down, he was just standing there doing nothing, before looking over at Alex. "What are you doing here? With Gabriel?"
"Well he was the one who saved me from you douche bags. Twice actually." Alex leaned against the door frame.
Castiel looked confused, "Why?"
"Hell if I know. Why don't you ask him yourself?" The second Alex finished her sentence, Castiel was teleported away and Alex was alone again.
She walked back into the main room and saw the Winchesters and Castiel leaving, Gabriel still in the ring of holy fire. Well fuck...Are they gonna let him out? I'm kinda stuck here. She saw Dean turn the fire alarm on, and water poured down on Gabriel, putting out the fire.
When they left, the room around her changed, and she was beside Gabriel in the abandoned building. The fire extinguishers were still on, so Alex easily turned them off before she got herself soaked like Gabriel was.
"You okay?" She asked him cautiously.
"Yeah. I'm fine. You should be getting back to your father though, he must be worried."
"I couldn't care less about how he feels." Alex muttered. "But, you're right. I haven't seen him since you saved me. Who knows what he think happened." She smiled at Gabriel a little before teleporting herself back to Crowley's mansion.
