you're putting me in an auction?

06:06, 2 February 2018

I woke up the next day in a room that wasn't mine. There was raw wood everywhere, like the painter couldn't show up to finish the house. There were pottery pots everywhere and a lot of racket in the main room. I rubbed my eyes and slowly got out of the bed. I was wearing long pajama pants and a tank top.

I walked into the noisy room and saw Yi-Jeong molding clay with his hands. I looked around. He does pottery?

"You're awake." He said, continuing to mess with the pottery clay. I yawned and sat down on a chair at the bar.

"What happened last night? Why am I here?" I manged to say.

"You fell asleep and I brought you here."

"Where are these clothes from?" I asked. He glanced at me and back at his pot.

"I had that tank top lying around in my drawer and those are my pants." I came and studied his pottery even more.

"I didn't know you were so talented at pottery." I said. He chuckled and stopped.

"A few days ago you hated me. What's wrong?" I sat down next to him and rested my hand on the table.

"People change don't they?" I said playfully.

"Do you want to go out to eat something? I'll get breakfast." He insisted, getting up to wash his hands.

"You don't make your own food?"

"I do, it's just I planned on going to Jun-Pyo's for breakfast with Woo-Bin." He replied.

"That's alright. Could you give me a ride home?" I said. He looked at me and brought out a fresh pair of female clothes.

"Do you have a hobby I shouldn't know about?" He shook his hand and shoved the clothes in my arms.

"I bought these for you earlier. Wear them and wait in the car for me." I went into the room I was asleep in earlier and put them on. As a boy he does have a decent idea of women attire. I put on a white flowy blouse with a blue skirt that had a fabricated bow at the top. He also gave me brown strapped sandals. Seriously where does this dude get his clothes? I came out and fixed my hair. It still looked like it did last night just a bit messier. I smoothed the fly aways down and waited outside by the car. I held my purse from last night and stared dully at the ground. Yi-Jeong came out shortly after with a full suit and nice shoes. He flashed me a smile.

"We could pose as a couple couldn't we?" He said. I rolled my eyes and got in. He sat in the drivers seat and we drove off. But instead we were going to the more expensive part of town.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Going to eat breakfast with my friends."

"I told you to bring me home?"

"Don't you think your brothers would disapprove of me for bringing their sister home and not feeding her?" I glanced out the window and saw the mansion coming closer and closer.

We arrived and I got out. Nostalgia was all there was. The maids welcomed us in and we stood by to wait for Jun-Pyo.

"What is she doing here?" I looked up and saw Jun-Pyo. I put on a frown.

"What do you mean why am I here. I came with your friend and I am very hungry." I said. He eyed me up and down and told the maids to seat me by him.

I sat down with Yi-Jeong beside me. Woo-Bin came in and sat on the other side of Jun-Pyo. The food looked great.

"Eat as much as you want." Woo-Bin insisted. I smiled slightly with rice in my mouth.

"For a skinny girl you eat a lot."

"Shut your mouth Yi-Jeong."

"Young Master," We all looked up and saw the butler approach.

"She's here." He stood up quickly and yelled.

"Already?" He nodded. Every boy stood up and rushed me upstairs.

"What are you doing?" I asked urgently.

"She's gonna kill you if she see's you here!" Jun-Pyo said as he lead the way.

"Kill me? Who are you talking about!" I said.

"Gu Jun-Pyo's mom; she's a real witch." Woo-Bin said from behind us.

"I look fine though!"

"I should've prepared you for this," Yi-Jeong muttered under his breath.

"What are you talking about?" We came into a room and Jun-Pyo started calling someone.

"Ji-Hoo! It's urgent; she's here." Is all he said to get him over here.

Women started filing in and taking me with makeup bags and hair curlers.

"Yi-Jeong, Woo-Bin, Jun-Pyo! Help!" They waved sadly and I was brought under. I was quickly placed in a whole new outfit, had new hair, and makeup on. My hair was curly and put up on my head with two curly pieces on the side of my face. The dress I had on was a yellow one with really weird things on it. I had to slip on black leggings and put on very vibrant yellow heels. I was pushed out and the boys told me to sit on the couch. I sat up straight as instructed and looked around the room. Ji-Hoo was playing with a chess set. I immediately looked down. The door then opened and I looked back up. It was an old woman but I recognized her so well.

"Who is this?" She said, glaring at me.

"She is a friend." Jun-Pyo stated blandly.

"Friend?" She looked back at me. "What does your mother do?" I looked everywhere but her. I suddenly felt a hand around my shoulders.

"Her mother is a doctor down at a famous hospital for children." Everyone agreed with Ji-Hoo. His hand stuck to me gently.

"Is that so? Where?" I decided to play along.

"Japan. She was invited over there after being aired on the local news worldwide." She raised her eyebrows and I nodded.

"Yeah, famous in the medical field." Woo-Bin added.

"What about your father?" I was about to look at Yi-Jeong and Jun-Pyo when Ji-Hoo shook my shoulder.

"Miss Chairman," Her manager asked. She turned and nodded.

"Since you four are already here I expect you all do your part." They all nodded as she left. I sighed and leaned back.

"What does she mean do your part?" I asked.  They all looked at each other and back at me.

"What?"

We were now all standing next to each other when the auction started.

"So what are we going to do now?" I said.

"Auction; ever been to one commoner?"

"You better watch that mouth of yours."

"All of us have an item that we would like to sell, so we bring it to an auction to see who would pay the highest price for it." Yi-Jeong said.

"Alright. . ."

"Let's begin!" All the attention turned toward the item rolling down the red carpet. It was a pair of swimmer's goggles and everybody stared at it in awe. I looked met eyes with Ji-Hoo and immediately looked down.

This is going to be a long day.

"We're finally done!" I cheered with delight. Everybody stared at me and I snapped my head to the boys.

"If you make me go down a runway like that again I will really mess you all up." I threatened. I went toward the door and waved.

"Bye-bye!" I said letting myself out. I walked out in the clothes I came in with and sighed. I felt like I was forgetting something but it was probably just a hunch.

"So-Young." I sighed and turned around.

"Ji-Hoo?"

"Let me take you home. It's a long walk isn't it?" He insisted. I looked back at the street and then at him. He held out his hand slowly.

"Only this once. Yi-Jeong wouldn't be enough to satisfy my brothers' standards." I said jokingly. He smiled and led me to his motorcycle.

He gave me a helmet and I got one behind him.

"Hold on tight." He said.

I really didn't want to feel this way. Ever since that night I've been trying to avoid this but. . .

I look into Ji-Hoo's eyes as he glanced back at me. I hugged his torso tighter and rested my head on his back.

I don't know what my heart is telling me, or what it's trying to make me love. But if I know one thing, it's this. Love cannot be decided on who treats you better or spends the most time with you. It's the person who your heart tells you is right. And right now, I don't know which one I love. But I never wanted this. I never thought my life would turn into this. Love is complicated and stupid. But somehow, somehow. . . The gut feeling in my heart is wanting more.
