14:56, 14 July 2022"You can't be serious."
The look on your face says more than words ever could, as you stare at your family in disbelief. How long had they been planning this? As far as you were concerned, you weren't even apart of their bullshit 'empire'— why were you even an option?
"Why me?" You croak out, anger resurfacing as they just continue to watch you fall apart under their gaze— your father especially acting as if this was all just a normal part of life... as if this was just something he expected you to go along with so willingly.
"You're the one the Sano's want— we introduced them to S/n, but Daisuke was... less interested in your sister." Your father's voice was cold and calculated, as your sister averts her eyes to the floor in embarrassment.
"You're okay with this? Offering us up to some shiesty asshole like we're nothing but a means to better business?" You were yelling at this point, but you didn't care— you needed this release. "We're your fucking daughters! Does that mean nothing to you? Is the firm really more important than our happiness... than our freedom?"
You turn to face your sister, who silently allows tepid tears to roll down her puffy cheeks. She doesn't say a word, but you can tell she's been waiting for you to come to her rescue for sometime now— it sends a sinking feeling of guilt straight through your heart as you watch her break down in front of you.
"This is the way business works, y/n. As a member of this family, you must do your part."
"I didn't ask to be born into this twisted fucking family! God, you won't even give me a direct answer...
Do you even love us?"
Your words shoot out ferociously, like daggers aimed at the soulless man in front of you. His expression is unwavering as he waits for you to cease fire— but you won't back down, not until he tells you what you already know to be true.
"It isn't a matter of love— emotions are nothing but feeble minded distractions. Emotions make you weak... vulnerable. Love is useless and a waste of time. The sooner you figure that out, the better."
It wasn't that you were surprised to hear him say something like that. In fact, you halfway expected it. Still, as idiotic as it seemed, a tiny part of you hoped that he might say the opposite.
Before you realized it, you feel your own tears spill at the behest of the little girl inside of you that wanted nothing more than to experience her father's love— a love she now knew that she would never have.
Simply because... it just didn't exist.
"You're sick." You sob out of frustration, the flood gates had been opened and there was no sign of them slowing down. "We were always just a means to an end for you... my birth was a fucking business transaction! This is hilarious-"
You laugh facetiously as you wipe your tears, while the rest of your family remains absolutely silent amongst the impenetrable tension.
"I needed heirs, y/n. If your mother had given me sons, I wouldn't have to bother myself with such trivial matters... regardless, this marriage will act as a contract of sorts— by you becoming Daisuke's wife, our companies will merge and we will always have our share of the profits, especially after you bear his children.
You're a smart girl... despite your disobedience, I know you can be successful in taking over the business."
The last part was meant as some sort of praise, no doubt some poor attempt to butter you up, but you hardly even noticed it with the amount of bullshit coming out of his mouth— bear his children? The old man must be off his fucking rocker.
"Well, sorry to inform you, Mr. L/n— please tell Mr. Sano that I'm not for sale." You spit in the most sarcastic tone you can muster, before turning on your heels and making your way to the exit.
"You'll be wise to re-think this decision. You know that when I set my sights on something, I always get what I want." Your father calls out to you as you stomp off, anger and adrenaline coursing through your veins as you slam the door on your way out.
Atsumu chuckled to himself, watching the clip he managed to sneak of you pounding the shit out of your sister before he jumped into the fight himself— it was a quick shot but entertaining nonetheless. Opening up the group text between him, Samu and Rin, he sent the video with a caption of 'Nannies gone wild 🤪' before slipping it back into his coat pocket.
He checked his watch— at least forty five minutes had passed since he was escorted out. What was taking so long? He hoped that you were alright.
Suddenly, you emerge from the front door with a scowl so spine chilling that it frightened him. He'd never seen you so angry.
"Hey, what happ- " he started to ask, before you walked past him abruptly without a second glance, popping yourself into the car with a slam of the door. His eyes shift confusingly before he joins you, stepping into the driver's seat.
You sat completely still, arms crossed with a permanent scowl on your face. You didn't mean to be so stand-offish and rude with Atsumu, but you knew as soon as you let go of your anger... it would just turn into sadness. You didn't want him to see you so broken.
It was bad enough he had witnessed such an embarrassing display of events, anything more would just be unbearable.
The two of you sat in silence. Truth be told, Atsumu really wasn't sure what to say— obviously something worse happened while you were in there, but clearly he wasn't going to get an answer as to what that was. Still, he wanted to atleast try...
"Uh— you wanna talk about it?"
"No."
"You sure?"
"Yes."
"Wanna make-out?"
That got your attention.
You turn to face him, not sure if you should scold him for his insensitivity or just simmer in self-pity like you intended to do all along... that is, until he gives you the widest, goofiest smile that you honestly can't help but adore.
The corners of your lips turn up into a subtle grin, as you shake your head in defeat. "Okay, you win."
"Wait- you really wanna make-out?"
"No, dummy." You chuckle, "I mean, I'll tell you what happened... but it's pretty heavy, forewarning."
With that, you begin to tell him everything that transpired after he left. His expression went from intrigued to shocked, to disgusted within a matter of minutes as you told your story. He truly couldn't believe what you were saying. He couldn't believe that a father could be so cruel... Even if he is a dilf, the man was pure scum.
Unfortunately for you, just as you had feared, your tears began to fall once again— reality setting in as soon as you told Tsumu everything. It hit you all at once... the pain from realizing that the person from whom you've been created, would never really care about you. Not unless it benefits him, at least.
If your even your own father couldn't love you... would anyone else be able to?
Yuji certainly didn't, and even Rin found a way to reject you after weeks of trying to get into your pants...
Is there something wrong with me? This thought was on reply in your mind as you began to spiral into self-loathing, seemingly damaged by the hands of your own flesh and blood.
Am I unlovable?
It was meant as a rhetorical question for your own thoughts to hear, though somehow those three loaded words slipped from your lips quietly— though, not quiet enough.
"Now, why would you ask some stupid shit like that?" Atsumu boomed, brown eyes piercing through your sullen expression.
Your head perks up at his bluntness, eyes widened as you let the remnants of your tears dry against your swollen skin. "What?"
"Don't let some asshole make you think some fucked up, depressing shit like that. You're better than this, y/n. Didn't I already tell you? You're fuckin' amazing. You callin' me a liar?"
"No, I- "
"Look at everything you've accomplished, all the friends you have, how happy you make the Suna's... all of 'em, even Rin, 'cept he's too much of a pussy to admit it. You really think you're unlovable? You made the most emo bitch in all of Japan feel somethin' — if that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will."
You opened your mouth to respond, but for once, you were rendered completely speechless. Closing your mouth, you waited for the words to find their way, but they remained lost amidst the shock of Atsumu promptly putting you in your place.
"Got it?" He asked, one brow cocked as he awaited your answer.
You nodded.
"Okay then. Now shut the fuck up and stop feeling sorry for yourself."
"You're right." You say, new found confidence causing a smile to form on your mascara stained face. You lean over the center console, hand cupping Tsumu's sharpened jawline as you pressed a delicate kiss on his lips.
"What was that for?" He asked, smiling and flushed. "Not that I'm complaining."
"Thank you." You answered. "I really needed that."
"Anytime, babe." He coos, turning the car on and gripping the steering wheel as he chuckles. "Let's get you back home before Rin loses his shit."
You agree, putting on your seatbelt and preparing for the ride home. You wanted to talk to Rin about the things Atsumu said— you were left in a state of confusion by Suna's rollercoaster of emotions, and upon hearing Tsumu's insightful words, it just left you even more confused.
You knew actually getting him to talk to you was much easier said than done, but you needed to try.
Though, that would have to wait...
Since there was now a pretty blonde pregnant woman sitting on his couch, with matching mascara stained cheeks.
