Chapter Eight

AI - Hi Aria, it's Ashton :). Just to let you know we are now home safe, as requested ;) xx

AP - Hey, glad you got home safe :). Thanks again for a great evening xx

AI - It really wasn't much we only went to McDonald's. If you really want a lovely evening you'll let me take you on a date? Sorry if that sounded cheesy, it's been a while :/ xx

AP - Really? I would've thought you'd have girls lining up xx

AI - What makes you say that? Xx

AP - I don't know. You're kind, funny and you're not to bad on the eyes either haha xx

AI - Haha, not to bad on the eyes ay ;) xx

AP - Haha, you know what I mean xx

AI - So can I take that as a yes to the date?? :) xx

AP - I don't know, it's been a while for me too. I'm not exactly the person people want to date xx

AI - I do. If you'll give me a chance? At least let me take you for a coffee? Get to know each other a little better xx

AP - Okay, that does actually sound quite nice. Let me know when and where and I look forward to it. Anyway I really wish I could text you all night, but unfortunately i've got to get up early for work tomorrow. So i'm off to be now :( xx

Aria's POVI got up from my bed and went to put my phone on charge ready for my early start. Before I managed to plug it into the mains it started vibrating erratically. I answered it immediately when I saw the photo of me and Ashton took earlier this evening. 

'Hello' I answered.

'Hey' I heard his Australian accent reply on the other end of the line.

'I just called to um..' he paused.

'Ash?' I asked slightly concerned.

'Sorry, I just called to wish you goodnight' he chuckled.

'Aww that's very sweet of you' I replied, touched.

'Goodnight beautiful, sweet dreams' He said softly.

'Goodnight Ash.' I smiled to myself before we both hung up.I finished plugging my phone in and went to bed.

It felt way to early when my alarm went off at 6 o'clock in the morning. I slowly got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I had a quick shower and then went to get changed. Before I did however I checked the time on my phone. 6:15am and 1 new message. I unlocked my phone and read the message. I smiled to myself as I read.

Ashton - Good Morning beautiful. I hope you have an amazing day :) xx

I couldn't believe that Ashton Irwin of very popular up and coming band 5 Seconds of Summer was texting me. I pressed reply.

Good Morning :) Thank You I hope you have a great day too :) xxx

I sent the message and then proceeded to get changed. I was out of the house by 7am and on the bus on my way to work. I reach work at about half 7. I was greeted by my boss Kate who was always in early. I swear she practically lived at the recording studio.

'Good morning Kate' I sang as I entered. 

'Morning, someone is in a good mood. Did you have a nice birthday?' she asked. Kate wasn't only my boss she was like my best friend. She knew almost everything about my past and she was really close to Dougie too. 

'You could say that, but i'll tell you about it later.' I smiled teasingly. 

'Right okay. Well the band due in the studio this morning has already arrived and started. I've signed them all in and let me tell you now they are hot.' She laughed. 

'Oh really. Who are they? Got you're eye on someone have you?' I joked with her. At that point we were interrupted. 

'Sorry to bother you... Oh my God Aria. What are you doing here?' A familiar voice said.

Michael's POVI was unamused when my alarm went of this morning. It was ridiculously early. I pressed the snooze button and turned over in an attempt to get a few more minutes. It didn't work, seconds later I had Luke knocking and entering my room. 

'Come on Mike you've gotta get up, we're going to the studio early.' Luke explained. 

'I just want to sleep. Why do we have to be in so early? We didn't go to bed until gone 12am. Walls are thin and Calum's pissing alarm has been going off since 5:30am.' I ranted. 

'You know what Calum's like. He has to have an hour of snooze before he gets up in the morning. That is why i'm glad we don't have to share anymore. You know we need to be in early to get more studio time. We really need to get this album done, i'm just hoping that we can come up with another song.' Luke replied slightly worried. We only needed one or two new songs two put on the new album before it was finished.

We were all ready to leave the house with 10 minutes to spare to get to the recording studio for 6:30am. We all met by the front door. Ashton had a gigantic smile on his face and was in a really good mood. 

'What's put you in a good mood?' Luke asked him. He tapped his nose in reply to mean 'none of your business' and opened the door. 

'We'll get it out of you some how.' Luke warned smiling at Ashton. 

'Mate, in all seriousness it's great to see a proper smile on your face. You deserve so much happiness.' Luke said sincerely. 'Thanks mate' Ashton replied.

I left the house bickering with Calum about his alarm and we all jumped into Ashton's  car. By the time we reach the recording studio Calum had agreed to turn his alarm down in future. We walked into the recording studio and was greeted by the owner Kate. She showed us around before we got down to it. We went over a few of the new songs we had for the album which were sounding great. At about 7:45am we had a quick break, so I decided to go for a wander while Ashton and Calum tried to work on some lyrics and Luke took the opportunity to go to the toilet. I left the room and walked down the corridor to the reception area. I could hear voices, one of which sounded familiar but I couldn't think why. I rounded the corner to see Kate talking to a shortish girl with auburn hair. I could only guess that she was the receptionist. There was a gap in their conversation so I took the opportunity to introduce myself. 

'Sorry to bother you...' I started, as I said that the girl talking to Kate turned around. 

'Oh my God Aria. What are you doing here?' I exclaimed happily.

Aria's POV'Hey Michael' I replied in shock.

'I'm the receptionist here. What are you doing here?' I continued well giving him a hug. 

'We're recording here, trying to get the new album finished. Why don't you come and say 'hi' to the others' Michael suggested. As he said that Calum came round the corner.

'Aria? Are you following us or something?' he joked.

'Busted!' I replied with a giggle, 'No I work here' I laughed. 

'Oh cool so you'll be spending a lot of time with us then' Calum said.

I followed them down the corridor to the studio they were using. Calum and Michael went in first and I followed. 

'Look who we found outside' Michael said excited. Ashton had his head buried in a note book and Luke still hadn't returned from the loo. Ashton looked up and I stepped out from behind Michael. 

'Aria, hey' Ashton said quickly standing up. 

'Hey Ash' I smiled flirtatiously.

'Don't panic i'm not following you I do actually work here' I joked. I don't know why I had to say that, it was so lame. 

'You said you worked as a receptionist I didn't realise it was here' Ashton replied. 

I could hear Michael and Calum muttering behind us so I turned around. They smiled at me and turned to leave, weird. Ashton came closer and gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. 

'I know I only saw you last night, but it's really good to see you.' Ashton smiled. 

'Likewise' I replied. 

'So have you thought anymore about coffee?' he asked. 

'Well I go for lunch at 12pm if you are free then.' I inquire. 

'Sure that sounds great, I look forward to it' He replies. 'Great then it's a date. Anyway I best get back to work. I shall see you at 12' I smile.
