"Answer'd Lancelot, the chief of knights. And with what face, after my pretext made, " Mr Phillps read walking back and forth with a book in his hand.
"Shall I appear, O Queen, at Camelot, I before a King who honours his word, as if the word..." He stood at the front with an expression of disgust when he finished.
"I think the entire poem is shameful. They should be tarred and feathered" Josie said cutting him off.
"Josie?" He said with a questioning look, one eyebrow raised high.
"Guinevere is married to the king, not Lancelot" She continued.
"Oh, Mr Phillips, can't you skip to the part where Elaine's pure and true love turns most tragical?" Anne said with a dreamy look on her face looking at the teacher, hope in her eyes
"No. Do not interrupt me again" He gave both the girls a stern look and turned back to continue.
When Mr Phillips back hit the students Rose turned her head to look at Cole.
He didn't seem to be interested in the book they were reading.
He had the book propped up and behind it he was what seemed to look like drawing.
Rose admired the boy but turned back to her book before she could be caught.
But as soon as she was about to pick up her book again she heard someone get up.
Out of curiosity, all the students looked for where the sound had come from.
"Cole? What have you got there?" Mr Phillips yelled at the pale boy.
A bottle that was knocked over the notebook he was drawing on.
"Cole!" He yelled again finally getting the boys attention.
"My apologies, Mr Phillips. I'll clean it up" he said quietly his voice shook in fear.
"Are you doodling... while I'm tirelessly dedicating my life to your education?" Cole looked up at the teacher with a frightened expression on his face.
"Blackboard! Now!" His voice bounced off every wall making it even louder than it was.
While Mr Phillips was writing Rose as Anne get up and pick up the book. Rose sent her a sad smile which she returned.
Rose looked at Cole in pity.
Then she looked behind Cole only to see Andrews smirking.
His cheek still a bit red from the slap but it still held a satisfied look.
"You like to draw? Draw that. Make sure it's legible" Mr Phillips yelled talking a piece of chalk and writing something down on the blackboard.
Everyone's stares followed Cole as he walked up to the board.
"Back to your readers!" He picked up the book and started reading again.
The noise of chalk hitting the board turned everyone's attention back to Cole. Including Mr Phillips.
'We do not draw in class' was beautifully written on the dark board.
"Less flourish. You're gonna need room for 50 of those" He scolded throwing Cole the eraser.
He continued reading with a monotone.

"And also Lemon squares, Currant cake and Shortbread cookies," Elizabeth said placing a large silver vase down.
"We need something festive..-" she moved that vase around trying to find a good spot for it.
"-A showstopper, I wish I had more notice" Elizabeth looked uneasy almost nervous as she frantically ran around the house with a maid.
"Nesselrode pie?" The maid suggested holding a notepad trying to write down everything Elizabeth was saying.
Elizabeth spun around looking the maid dead in the eye.
"What? I'll not have rum in this house, Mary Joe" she said as she gave a threatening stare.
"It's only for flavouring, ma'am" Mary Joe reasoned.
"Eliza, I've invited a few more guests. If you could make arrangements accordingly" William walked over to the vase and picked it up from where it was placed.
"Exactly how many?" Elizabeth questioned with a concerned facial expression.
"Cakes aren't made by magic elves, dear-" She spoke but quickly was cut off by William.
"I shall need to secure Thomas Lynde before he consumes the entirety of the sweets table" William walked over to a shelf and placed the vase full of roses on it adjusting it.
"That scene at the church picnic was very... unfortunate" He turned to face the two ladies.
"See what you can do about that, won't you, darling?" Then he rushed off to somewhere unknown.

"Fresh collard!" A man yelled holding a large fish.
"There are so many things I miss about this place. Other things, I don't miss at all" Bash spoke.
"How much?" Gilbert walked over to a man. The man had a large pot of porridge in front of him.
Gilbert eyed it hungrily.
"How much you have?" The man said.
"He doesn't have a thing. Not one cent. I told you, this is only a shortcut" Bash pulled Gilbert up with one hand dragging him along.
"Why are you walking me through all this delectable temptation?" Gilbert questioned.
Bash chuckled. "Just hold your horse, farm boy"
"Oh, how about this? Just a taste?" Gilbert pointed at a stall.
"Nah. Don't eat that" Bash kept dragging him in one direction.
"Bash, I'm starving, and that looks really good" Gilbert reasoned as his stomach rumbled.
"Of course. Trinidadians can cook. Especially the dregs nobody else wants"
"But you have to taste what we does do with real food" Bash smiled at his friend.
"How about I go back so I have something to compare it to?" Gilbert tried to go back but Bash had a strong grip on him.
"Patience, boy. Don't cry. Hold this for now. It's a mango. Prepare for an experience" Bash passed him a mango and Gilbert quickly took a bite.
"Hmm... Mmm! Mmm!"
"It nice, eh? Don't swallow the skin. Spit it out" They kept walking along the market place enjoying the fruit they were given.
"If it's not gonna kill me, why would I waste it?" He said as he ignored his friend's advice.
They chuckled and continued on their way to their destination.

At the Barry's house, the party slowly started to dye down and people began to leave.
Rose sat at her vanity brushing her hair with the brush her mother gave her.
She smiled remembering the memories they had.
She truly missed her. Her father hasn't sent any letters to her and she was starting to worry.
Then suddenly she heard someone calling her name frantically from the entrance of the house.
She quickly ran down, holding her nightgown to make it easier to run.
"Aunt Elizabeth what's wrong?" She asked when she saw her aunt in tears holding a letter.
"R-Rose dear..." she spoke softly her voice shook with every word.
Diana and William came running down.
"M-mother? What's wrong?" Diana said running to her mother's side.
"Darling? Are you alright?" William spoke.
"Rose- Your parents are..." Rose's eyes started to fill up with tears but she held it back as well as she could.
"They died in an accident" Diana read from the paper.
Rose felt her body shake as she wrapped her arms around her body.
Her vision began to blur as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Rose.." Diana walked over to her indulging in a tight hug.
She felt her heart slowly started to break.
Her whole world was crushed. This was the end for her.
