the first thing devon did once she got home was take her shoes off and look for her boyfriend.

he didn't have practice today, weirdly, and on days he didn't, he took this housewive role that devon loved to make fun of him for.

as she walked into the living room she saw it bare from it's usual sweatshirts or dishes and found her boyfriend happily reading a book on the couch.

she just walked closer to him and plopped down on top of him, straddling his hips and sighing in content once she felt his arms immediately wrap around her waist as she hid her face on his neck.

"hey baby, how was work?" he asked as he set aside his book and leaned back on the couch, his hands taking its usual place under her thighs to hoist her closer to him.

"it was good, just extra tiring" she mumbled, quite literally about to fall asleep right there.

"did you buy my razors?" he whispered as he ran his hand through her hair gently, occasionally kissing the side of her head softly.

"i didn't" she sighed, leaning away and lifting her hands to play with his beard "i don't know why you want to shave. it's the perfect lenght"

"i know you hid the razors"

"i didn't" she groaned, wrapping her arms around his neck and burying her face on his neck again "i don't appreciate you saying lies"

"okay, okay. i'm sorry. i won't shave, okay?" he laughed softly, moving his arms to wrap the around her lower back, holding her tightly against his body.

"thank you. can i sleep here?" she mumbled, closing her eyes as the feeling of his heart beating calmly relaxed her.

"of course you can baby"

"wait, where are your brothers?" she asked, half aware about the fact that the house was too silent.

"jack wanted to drive around and luke went with"

"oh, okay"

quinn smiled warmly, lifting his hips to move further down the couch to make her more comfortable, feeling utter comfort by the way she held him "the family skate is tomorrow" he whispered, leaning his cheek on her head.

"oh my god. i almost forgot. i'm so sorry" she whispered back, her eyes flying open and her hold on him tightening, worried that he might get mad.

"it's okay dev" he chuckled, his chest filling with admiration for the girl laying on his chest "you gonna be able to go?"

"of course. i cleared my schedule for that since you told me. i just kinda forgot"

"if you tell me where you hid the razors i might forgive you" he cheekily asked earning a dramatic sigh from devon.

"don't forgive me then"

"you did hide them then?" he asked, a triumphant smile on his face.

"shut up. i wanna sleep"

"jack rowden! we're gonna be late!" devon yelled from the garage as she and luke waited for the two brothers to come. luke was already sat in the back like a sulking teenager.

"you can be late!" she heard him yell back which just annoyed her more.

"doesn't mean i want to be!" she grumbled loudly, smiling once she saw quinn walked through the open door and stop in the passenger side where she was sitting.

"just hurry up rowdy!" luke yelled from the open window as he tried to ignore quinn and devon on the front.

"i'm ready. ugh, you're so bossy" jack whined as he walked and opened the back door, pushing luke so he could sit behind dev's seat.

"crawl in a hole and die" she grumbled, a smile slipping in when quinn took off his beanie to put it on her head before closing the door and walking to the driver's seat.

"wow! okay dev. i see"

"quinn, please drive. i'm getting sick of him" she said in a deadpanned tone, referring to jack. luke just laughed loudly, amused at the whole situation.

after what felt like hours due to jack's annoying nature, the group finally arrived to the arena.

since christmas was in less than a week, the canucks had decided to invite their players and their families for a nice skate and a dinner afterwards. jack and luke being here was just a coincidence.

quinn and devon walked hand in hand while the two boys followed behind them. devon was telling quinn how excited she was to see everyone and to skate with him. to do something that meant so much to him was special for her.

as they went inside they saw a bunch of people already in the ice which prompted devon to eagerly pull quinn to the locker room so they could put their skates on, honestly completely forgetting about the younger hughes'.

after a bit of struggling, quinn finally was able to tie her skates properly and the couple happily walked down the tunnel and stepped on the ice.

they started by doing a couple laps, greeting people as they passed them by. well, more like devon was greeting people, quinn was too busy admiring her.

"baby, kate's filming us" devon murmured as she held his hands, referring to the social media girl who was happily filming the players from a safe distance.

"you want me to tell her to delete it?" quinn asked, moving his head to look at her side profile in concern.

"what? no. just wanted to let you know so you don't grab my ass or something" she chuckled, looking at him as their eyes connected, matching smiles on their faces.

"what would you do if i did?" he teasingly asked, squeezing her hand as they skated slowly.

"i would probably have to fight teenage girls later" she shrugged. in reality, she loved to fight them, it was fun.

"do you feel in the mood to do that?" he smoothly asked as he grabbed her waist to move her in front of him, taking control and skating them backwards expertly. devon blushed, figuring out by the look on his face that he had something planned, also the fact that he moved her so that her back was in the exact direction kate was filming.

"maybe" she grinned, cackling loudly once he felt his hands rest on her ass, not squeezing, just resting there "you're gonna get so much shit"

"i know" he smiled, kissing her gently.

the pair failed to notice the way jack's eyes flew open once he saw where his brothers hands were and seeing that they were being filmed. thinking that the couple was unaware of being in the background of whatever the social media girl was filming, jack bolted from where he was and stopped once he was in front of devon, completely covering her body with his.

"you guys are aware you're being filmed?" jack hissed, looking like a pissed off parent.

quinn laughed and moved his hands to devon's shoulders, hugging her body to his as she moved to stand next to him "yeah, we know"

the speed in which jack's expression changed from concerned to disgusted was unmatched. the couple laughed loudly as they watched jack shudder and skate away while mumbling things under his breath.

"i'm gonna beg kate to keep that in" quinn murmured in her ear as they resumed skating.

"please do"
