chapter 44

Tobias' POV

I still havn't asked Tris to prom yet, I just want it to be special but I have no idea how. All of the other guys did something amazing. I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket, I check the caller ID. It's Chris.

Hi Chris-4

FOUR WHY HAVE YOU NOT ASKED TRIS YET?!-C

I don't know how-4

Oh, okay, well I would suggest doing something to do with HIMYM, any ideas to do wth that?-C

I think for a little while. There was one episode which she really loves, Ted does a two minute date for Stella, and she always says it's the most romantic thing ever.

I've got it!-4

What?!-C

the perfect date, she always says it's the most romantic thing ever. Just tell her to meet me in the park after school today-4

But she only has like two minutes before she has to be at my house-C

I know, just do it-4

I hang up and get to work.

Tris' POV

After school I go to meet Tobias. I arrive at the park and see him with a bunch of roses. "Tobias, what are you doing, I have like two minutes!" he smirks. "I know" He calls over a park Taxi, which is basically a bike attatched to a mini carriage, someone drives you around th epark. "seriously I have two minutes!" He just laughs and grabs my hand, dragging me into the 'taxi' We ride around a corner and get out. Set up is a table with two bowls of spaghetti from Al Piccolo Mondo. We sit down and eat about two spoonfuls before we get up running again. "taxi!" another 'taxi' comes and takes us to a projector set up with two chairs and a tub of popcorn, he drags me over there and sits me down. "what are we watching?" I ask. "this old film called Manos, in x40" I suddenly realise what he's doing. It's the two minute date from HIMYM. the movie finishes and Tobias drags me, laughing back to the taxi. "how are we for time?" I look at my watch. "we have a little bit of time." so he sends the 'taxi' away and we walk. "desert?" we sit back at the table and have Dauntless cake, then he whips me away and we walk back to the entrance to the park. "roses... and a doggy bag" he says handing me a roses and a bag with the rest of the Dauntless cake, delivered by a waitor from Al Piccolo Mondo. "thank you Linus" he says as the waitor leaves. he looks at his watch. "and... date!" I have tears in my eyes. "the two minute date" I whisper. "anything for you Tris, I love you, but unfortunately, desert ran long so I had to cut the goodnight kiss." I smile. "Chris can wait" I lean in and kiss him. "this was the most romantic thing ever, I love you so much, thank you" he is about to kiss me when I look at my watch. "what was all of this about anyway?" he smirks. "you'll see" I kiss him on the cheek and run to Chris' house, I need to be there because we both have to write a speech for graduation, which we have to show to Mrs Clewlow tomorrow morning. When I arrive she runs up and asks "did he ask you?" I shake my head. "no, but I asked what the date was for and he said, 'you'll see'" "oh, well anyway, is that Dauntless cake I smell?" I laugh and open the bag. "yep, we had it on our-" I stop when I look in the bag. Writen in cursive with icing on the top of the cake is the question. Tris Prior, will you go to Prom with me?  "what?" asks Chris, I show her the cake. "well call him" I shake my head and take off running. It takes me about five minutes to reach my house. I burst through the door and sprint to Tobias' room. I open the door and he is sitting, looking at his phone. "she's not going to call" he looks up at me, wide eyed. "well?" I jump on top of him. "YES YES A MILLION TIMES YES!" He smiles and kisses me. "but now I do have to leave, see you later, love you" "love you too" I run back to Chris' house and tell her all about the date. Once I'm finished she says "Why couldn't Will have done something like that?" I laugh. "because it wouldn't mean as much to you, it is the two minute date from HIMYM." I explain. "wow" I nod and grin. "yeah, but we should write the speach"
