45. Echo House

It had been 2 days since the whole chaos and currently Dad and I were driving Stiles to Eichen House. I had been in hospital for two days and just a few hours ago, I got a call from Dad saying Stiles wanted to go to Eichen House. When I reached home, Stiles had already packed all his things and was ready to leave. I tried to reason with him and so did Dad but he didn't listen and at last, Dad gave up and agreed to take Stiles there. Stiles told us not to tell anyone as he doesn't want to make this a big deal but on the way, I texted Scott and told him to come there as fast as he could. 

As we got out of the car, I still had a little hope that maybe after seeing this place Stiles would change his mind but instead, he took out his bag and proceeded toward the gates. As I was thinking about how to stall him till Scott got here, we heard the sound of a motorcycle and I sighed in relief. Scott parked his bike next to our car and ran towards us. 

"Why didn't you tell me?" 

He asked Stiles.

"Because we wanted to avoid something like this."

Dad said looking at me and I just scoffed. Then Stiles told Scott that it was only 72 hours.

"This is the same place where Barrow came from. The guy had a tumor inside him filled with flies. You don't know everything yet." 

Scott argued, 

"I know enough. Nogitsunes, Kitsunes, Oni or whatever they're called. Scott, I saw an MRI that looked exactly like my wife's and it terrifies me. I'm headed down to L.A. tomorrow to talk to a specialist." 

Dad explained then Scott asked that why he was putting Stiles here and Stiles argued that it was his decision. Then Scott reminded Stiles that we can't help him if he's here. Stiles pointed at my leg which was covered in bandage and said that he can't hurt us if he's in there. Then Scott told him the same thing I told Stiles when we were about leave, that Deaton had some Ideas, Mr. Argent was calling people, we will find something. Then Stiles asked what will happen if we can't. Same thing he asked me. We both were silent. Stiles then came close to us, 

"I was going to tell this to Ruth and request her to tell you this but now that you here, you both listen carefully. If you guys can't figure this out, then you have to do something for me, okay? Make sure I never get out." 

Then he hugged Scott and went inside. "Scott, please wait for me." I requested Scott and then followed Stiles and Dad inside. As we went to reception area a nurse approached us and told us to follow her to her office. In the office she gave Dad the form and instructions, how in the first 72 hours, we cannot contact Stiles through anything , I tried to argue but Dad stopped me. Then she told Stiles that after this they would take him for a brief physical, and in the morning he'll be assessed by a staff psychologist, speak to a social worker and attend group therapy. "I think we're forgetting something." I said as Dad gave the form back. Then nurse gave Stiles a pair of slippers and then told Stiles to empty his pockets. 

"Your pillow. Your pillow, we forgot your pillow." 

Dad said as Stiles removed his shoes. Stiles told Dad that it was okay, so I spoke up, "No, no. You're never going to be able to fall asleep. We got to go back. Every time that we've stayed in a hotel, or you came to London to visit me, you always had your pillow."  Then Stiles again said that it was okay then as I heard the doors lock and unlock, I lost it and I stood up. "Okay, you know what, stop. Enough. Stiles get your stuff, I'm not letting you stay here if you're not gonna have one good night's sleep."

"Rue, I haven't had good nights sleep in weeks." 

Stiles said and then got up and hugged me I held him so tightly that I was sure that he was having trouble breathing but I didn't let him go and cried as he kissed the top of my head. After a while Stiles pulled back and smile at me with teary eyes. He then hugged Dad and Dad also asked him if he was sure he wanted to stay here and he reassured us for the last time that he'll be okay. Then another nurse came to take him and before she could, I ran out of there and didn't look back once until I was out of the gates. Scott was standing right outside the gates so I just went and hugged him while Scott assured me that we'll find something. Soon Dad also came out, 

"Ruth, why did you ran away like that?" 

Dad asked but I didn't reply so he pulled me in a hug. 

"Sweetie, I know you're really really angry with me right now, for letting Stiles do that but trust me this was the right thing for him." 

"No, Dad. The right thing would've been us finding a way of ripping that thing out of my brother and till that taking care of him at home, not admitting him in this crazy place." 

"Honey it's just 72 hours. I promise you after that I will bring him back myself, no matter what." 

I nodded, "Well, I am going with Scott, you have your flight in few hours and you need to pack and I don't want to left alone in that empty house." Dad nodded and then I kissed him on the cheek and wished him good luck for his flight and left with Scott. Scott took us to the clinic, and as we got there I saw Allison's car in the parking. As we went inside, Allison was standing in front of Deaton's desk and he was taking to Mr. Argent on the phone. Then we told everyone how Stiles went to Eichen House. Deaton fixed a chair for me right next to him  and gave me some water then he continued his conversation.

"We have two problems now, first, the Lichen is not a cure, it'll wear off in a matter of days." 

Then Mr. Argent asked that while it's working will Oni leave Stiles alone. Deaton said that he hoped but Eichen House did had some unusual history so it might not be that safe for Oni there as well. Then Mr. Argent asked about the second problem so Deaton continued

"I checked with your contacts on Japan, the Yakuza boss you saw killed by the Oni never found the scroll." 

"What scroll?" I asked and Deaton told us it was a Shugendo Scroll, the Shugendo were the ascetic mystics of Japan. Then Mr. Argent told us that the scroll had the information on how to exorcise a Nogitsune. "So we need to find that scroll?" I confirmed and Deaton nodded and then he told Mr. Argent that he did get the name of the man who last purchase it, Kincaid. 

"He was with Katashi." 

Allison reminded us, "He's the guy who met with Isaac to buy the gun." I said remembering. Then Deaton said that it sounded like Katashi wanted the scroll for himself. But then Mr. Argent said that Dad told him that nothing like it was found among his things, and a paranoid like Katashi would keep it close. Then Allison asked what did the Scroll looked like. Deaton handed us a scroll and said it would like that. "Does it some in different sizes?" I asked and he said it could come in any, "Well, then I think I know where it might be." I said and then everybody asked me so I reminded them that Katashi had a prosthetic sliver finger which was on him all the times. After that Scott took me to his house so that we could rest for a little while.

Next day we got a text  from Allison, she told us to come to her place. As we were going I suggested Scott that we take Aiden and Ethan with us as well as they could be a great help. Scott called them as well and we all went to Allison's place.  

"My father said all of the Katashi evidence is being moved to a federal lock up by armored car tonight. Probably within the next few hours." 

Allison said as she opened the door and we all moved towards Mr. Argents office. Then suddenly someone came form behind and hugged me, when I turned it was Lydia, so I hugged her back. Then Ethan asked if we're going to rob an armored car, Lydia, Allison and I looked at each other and the three of us said, "We're going to try."

"This is a really bad plan." 

Scott said as Lydia finished up explaining everyone, how we're going to rob a armored car. "Well, it's not that bad." I said and then Ethan came and adjusted my legs on his lap while sitting next to me and said that it wasn't that good either. 

"None of us knows the route they're going to take, so if Allison and Ruth can get one of Mr. Argent's GPS trackers on the armored car, then we can follow it." 

Lydia explained once again, then Allison pointed at a mark in the map and said that when the car gets here and before she could complete her sentence Aiden asked that would they attack it. Lydia turned to him and said that their bikes will be in the middle of the road, looking like they got into an accident, and when the driver gets out to help, they'll distract him and Scott will break open the back door. "And you'll get Katashi's finger." I said turning to Ethan. 

"It's not his actual finger, is it?" 

Ethan asked and I smiled and patted his head while Lydia said that he was so out of our league. Then Ethan asked why aren't we going to Dad for help and Scott explained that if he gets caught then it's the Sheriff tampering with federal evidence. Then Allison reassured all of us that this was going to work. "We're loosing Stiles, Mr. Argent and Derek are in jail for murder, we need to do this." I said and everyone nodded. 

In the evening Allison and I left for the station, but as we reached there Scott came with Kira, we were quite surprised but we didn't had time and we could always use an extra pair of hands, so we explained her all the plan while we hid between the cars in the parking lot. After explaining everything we sent Kira to attach the GPS to the car while Allison, Scott and I were on look out. She attached the GPS but then Deputy Parrish walked out, so Kira hid behind the car. Then Parrish opened the door and saw that the driver was dead so took out his gun and started to look around as he was about to find Kira the back of the car opened and someone attacked Parrish. As I focused on that man's face I recognized him and then as Scott asked how that guy was Allison and I together said Kincaid.
