Chapter 31His POV

I can' stop lookin' through the fence. No matter how much I wanna know who this guy is who just saved my ass. I keep lookin' anyway. Prayin' that I won' see a tiny blonde body on the ground. Or a tiny bloody walker comin' towards me.

"Daryl?" I hear from behin' me. I don't move. "Daryl?" He says again. This time causing me to finally turn aroun' an' face Aaron.

"What?" I gruff. "This man says he's looking for somebody an' he was wondering if we might know where to find him.

"Yes. That's correct." He says pullin' outta map an' handin' it to me.

I open it an' see the tiny hand written note at the bottom.

Sorry, I was an asshole. Come to Washington. The new world's gonna need Rick Grimes.

I look up at the man who just handed me the map. Who is this guy?

"Who the hell are you?" I ask rudely.

"My name's Morgan Jones. I found that man a little while after the outbreak. Poor guy was in a coma and woke up with the world in pieces. I've been looking for him for a while now."

I nod. "Well you've found him. He's parta our group, we'll take you back with us." I say lookin' at him a lil' bit less intense than I was before.

"Thank you." Is all he says an' Aaron takes him into his car as I reluctantly walk over to my bike.

I get on an' start it. The engine roarin' loudly. I stare blankly ahead at the fence full of walkers snappin' their jaws at me.

Beth... I'm sorry.

I lift the kick stand up an' start walkin' my back around so I can het out clearly.

"You're not leavin' without me are you?" I hear a small voice ask.

I whip my head around an' see a blood covered Beth breathin' heavily an' smilin' at me.

I immediately turn off my bike an' jump off of it practically flyin' into Beth's arms.

I almost knock her down an' all she can do is giggle.

"I thought... yanno." I mutter into her ear.

"I know." She says softly as she runs her hands through my hair.

"C'mon lets get back. I'm sure Rick will wanna know about Morgan." She says releasin' me from a hug.

"How long you been standin' there?" I ask wonderin' how she knew about that.

"Not long. But I wanted to make a dramatic entrance." She says with a big smile.

"Yer somethin' else, girl." I say wrappin' my arm aroun' her waste an' guidin' her over to my bike.

I climb on first followed by her. I ride in fronta Aaron an' turn outta the packin' place leavin' the fence of walkers behin'.

Throughout the whole ride, I keep goin' over everythin' thats happened, in my head. We all almost died. I thought Beth was dead... again. I wouldn'a been able to tell her how I really feel about her.

The way she smiles at the smallest things. The way she sings when she thinks no one's listenin'. Or even when she wants to cheer people up. She's always makin' the best of the situation, even in this shit world. I'm lucky as all hell to have met someone like that.

The sun starts to set faster an' faster it seems. So we decide to stop at the house we did last time. The one with the secret hatch in the floor. I'm glad that we foun' that. We were runnin' low on food.

Once again, we climb off my back an' walk up to the door. Beth quickly bangin' on the door frame, wautin' to see if anythin' comes fumblin' towards us. Nothin'.

Once we get inside, we do a quick sweep of the house an' its still empty of walkers. So Beth travels up to the girls room she was in last time. Aaron goes in the room with the hatch again, Morgan finds a place somewhere, I honestly don' know where he went. I walk past all the rooms in the hallway upstairs an' find what had to be a parent's bedroom. I start lookin' through some of there stuff when I find somethin' that is perfect for Beth.

I walk back down the hallway, but stop outside the door. I start rummagin' through my bag, until I find the moonshine. I take it out, an' knock on the door.

Beth turns around an' smiles. She gestures for me to walk in, an' I make my way across the room an' plop down roughly on the bed. Beth immediately grabs the bottle outta my hand an' starts to drink some of it.

"Easy. Remember what happened last time?" I remind her of the last time we though it was a good idea to drink about three or four jars of moonshine each.

"Yeah." She says gulpin'. "That fire was nice." She smiles an' hands me the bottle.

I take it an' place it next to me. I reach into my back pocket an' hold up somtehin' for Beth.

"Oh my goodness!" She gasps. "Where'd ya get that?" She says grabbin' the bracelet outta my hand.

"Found it. Down the hall in the other room." I shrug, but try to hide the fact that this is all very strange an' awkward for me. I was never really the gift givin' type. Or the givin' type in general.

She puts the bracelet on her wrist an' clamps it shut. Then starts explainin' it to me.

"See this right here, these five lines are called a staff." She says pointin' to five bars that are used in music. I nod along. I honestly know what they are, but she's so happy to tell me, so I'm definitely not goin' to stop her. She continues.

"This note right here." She says pointin' to the only note on the bracelet. "This note is a d." She looks up smilin' at me. "That's so strange. How thats the only note on there, an' its a d! Maybe there are still a few nice things in this world." She looks up at me smilin'. "It's a little strange though." I mumble. "How so?" She says, lookin' down at her new present."That the only note on there is a d. Why a d?" I say confused.

She twists her eyebrows up inta a bunch, as if she was mentally askin' herself the same thing. "I dunno." Is all she manages to say.

"Let's get some sleep. We have a long way back tomorrow." I say layin' down on the bed. She leans back on it as well, makin' sure that she is very close to me. Which o'course I don' mind. There's nothin' but silence, until I quietly here a tiny lil' voice.

"I love...." She mumbles.

I panic a lil' bit at her words. Not knowin' what the rest of that sentence was. "What'dya say?" I hesitantly ask.

She stutters. "I-I said I loved this gift." Then looks at me awkwardly.

"Oh." I awkwardly nod my head as well. "I'm glad ya do." I tell her then lean over an' kiss her lips softly.

"G'night Greene."

"G'night Mr. Dixon."

"Am I seriously stuck with that name?" I kinda whine at her, which makes her giggle so I smirk.

"Yep. If you can call me Greene, I can call you Mr. Dixon." She gives me a mischievous smile.

I kiss her again on the lips a lil' more passionately than the last time. She kisses back with the same force an' I flip over on my side so I can get a better position. I carefully apply some force into the kiss by placin' my hand around her waist an' wrappin' my leg through hers. She runs her fingers through my hair an' lightly pulls it. I move down so I can kiss her neck. A nibble softly on her sensitive spot an' a small moan releases from her mouth.

That's all it takes for her to realize what we were doin'. She pulls back an' looks at me sweetly. Placin' her hand on the side of my face, she quietly says: "Daryl, I'd love to continue, but this is a small house, an' we aren't exactly alone." She says a lik' embarrassed.

"I know. I just gat a lil' carried away thats all." She nods an' softly kisses me on the lips. "Maybe when we get back to Alexandria, we can find an empty house to "borrow" for a few hours." She says winkin' at me. I huff an' smile, then lay back down next to her.

We're both driftin' off ta sleep, when a question pops inta my mind.

"Hey Bethy?"

"Yeah?" She sleepily answers.

"Where'dya learn to kiss like that?" I ask. I hear a small giggle, an' an even smaller mumble of an answer.

"Church camp."
