Chapter 13

11:15, 1 August 2017

Allan had to leave the party to track down a guy with a letter.

I sat back in my chair, listening to Guy and father talk. The Fool came up and asked if he could start the entertainment. The Fool had sparkles on his face, which made look strange. The man was funny, but it didn't make me feel better. I'd rather be in my room. Watching Guy was too painful. And it bugged me to see the way he would look at me when he though I was watching. The Fool made many jokes about Robin Hood, which none made me laugh. Father looked as if he was worried.

"My dear, are you alright?" He questioned, leaning over to me.

I clear my throat and straighten myself out. "I'm fine, father. Just not with it today."

Suddenly, the Fool brought up Prince John. He started to make fun of him. Father didn't like it, so he ordered the guards to take the fool to the dungeons.

After a while, I got bored. I told father I was going for a walk. And I did. It was nice, walking through the village. There was no people. They all were near the party. The ghostly sense gave me room to free my mind. To think about my future.

Who do I choose? Allan is a wonderful man, but nothing could happen because he's a guard. If Guy wants to take my hand of marriage, I couldn't refuse. Father would force me to marry Guy. Only of Guy wanted me that badly. To be happy would mean to run away with Allan. We would have to run away far, far away. Only to get away from my Father and Sir Guy.

Speaking of Allan... He and another guard were walking my way. Both holding carrying another wounded guard.

"Allan." I shouted, jogging to him.

"My lady." Allan said with a smile.

I put my attention to the wounded guard. "What happened?"

"Robin Hood. He attack us, taking us by surprise. Jim got hurt."

"Come, let's take him to father."

And we did. Father got mad because the message got away. Father started to throw things, until he picked up a sliver lid. From the lid, flew a dove.

"There has to be an explanation." Father said, gritting his teeth.

I took the the silver tray and it's lid back to the castle. Allan had escorted me. We were standing at the doors of my father's sitting room.

"Thank you for escorting me here." I told Allan, entwining my fingers with his.

"Yea. No problem."

I went over to the table and set down the tray, but not letting go of Allan's hand.

"You look absolutely amazing, Sirena." Allan told me, picking me up and setting me on the table.

"Careful."

Allan leaned in and kissed my lips. "There's nothing to be careful about."

Allan leaned in again for another, but I stopped him. "You should go before my father returns."

"Yea."

I was still on the table when Allan left. I crossed my legs and turned to the tray, determined to find how the dove appeared in it.

"Sirena..." A voice said, scaring me. Looking up, my father walked throw the doors. "What are you doing on the table? Get off."

"Sorry, father. I was trying to find how this thing works."

Father and I sat down in chairs and started to tinker with the tray and it's lid. Soon, Gisborne walked in.

"Ah, Gisborne the gullible. We've got something to show you." Father said.

It made me smile whenever father picked on Guy, calling him names.

Father held the lid over a piece of fruit. "First you see it, then you don't. There it is, there it isn't."

"Yeah, what's your point?" Guy questioned as father put down the lid. When father lifted it, the fruit was gone. Gisborne looked amazed. "How did you do that?"

"Well, my daughter and I found out that you simply pull up on the handle here. The claw grabs hold of the bird. You lift up the lid, birds gone." Father explained, showing how it happens. "The cooked bird has been hollowed out, you put a live done inside it, and then la-di-da-di-da, plate full of bird's wings, hmm? Your fool, he's no sorcerer, he's no sooth sayer, and he can not predict the future."

"He was right about Lardner's ring, though. Bring him in." Guy shouts to the door.

To guards bring in the fool and some other guy. The Fool gave up information right away. He talked about a bird being a messenger. Allan was also with the guards. Turns out the other man was Will from Robin Hoods gang. Father told the men they were going to hang. The Fool had hugged Allan and told the key to the chains. Allan had noticed, but it seemed he couldn't let Will die.

"Father? May I come with...?" I questioned before he was out the door.

Father, Guy, and Allan looked back at me as if I was mad. "Only if you want to." Father said. He leaned close to Guy. No doubt he told him to keep an eye on me, so I don't get hurt.

We walked out of the castle. Father was saying that we need to get to the doves before Robin does or the King will know what's going on.

"Sirena, ride with Guy." Father told me.

Guy leaned down, handing me his hand. I take it and get on the back of his beautiful black horse. Allan was looking at me.

"Sorry." I mouthed to him. He knows I have no choice.

We rode through the forest. Guy seemed to like me holding on to him. And to be honest... I kinda like holding onto him, as well.

Guy slowed his horse when we came upon a rock grave. One of the guards had gotten shot with an arrow. Sir Guy told the guard to get back on his horse and get reinforcement.

Since the guard left, it was Allan, father, Guy, and I waiting. Robin was stuck in a tree. Father had sent Allan and two guard to the tree to do something. I'm not quite sure what they are doing because it's kinda hard to see around Guy... But on the other hand, Guy smelt really nice.

When father's plan didn't work, Allan retreated. Allan hid behind a tree, staring at me with his beautiful blue eyes.

"I have an idea. Do not let them escape while I'm gone." Father told us, leaving.

It wasn't long till a group of guards came. Allan was sent to the tree to spread pitch on the tree.

"I'd like to get down now." I told Guy.

"Very well. Stay close."

A guard helped me down and hid me behind a tree.

"I hope you're ready, Hood." Guy shouts at the tree, getting off the horse. "You tried to cover me in pitch once, Hood. You remember?"

Right. That was the day Guy was winning, but Robin got the best of him. That was the day I forced father to saved Guy...

"Talking trees are good, but brining bushes are better." Guy ready a bow and was about to shoot a flaming arrow.

Suddenly, Marian was tied up. "If I die, Marian dies with me!" Robin shouted, slowly letting her down.

"No! Marian!" Guy screams, trying to run to her rescue.

The sight of it made me sick.

"So, it is true. You still love her. I've found your weakness, Gisborne." Robin shouted. I could see through the trees branches, Robin had his bow and arrow ready.

Guy ready his bow. "If you harm a single hair on her head! I swear I will kill you! You die more slowly and more painfully than any man has ever died before!" Gisborne shouts at the tree.

"Hey, get up on the horse. Just incase something bad happens." Allan says.

I gave him a smile. It's cute that Allan cares.

Allan helped me in the horse. That's when a large cloud of smoke. Somehow Robin got away, Guy went up in the tree and saved Marian. I almost threw up in my mouth.

After everything, I rode home with Allan. Guy clearly didn't want me bevause he had Marian. Getting to the castle, Allan walked me to my chambers. I didn't hug him or give him a kiss. I walked right through the door and shut it on him.

It wasn't Allan's fault that Marian is back. It was her fault. It was Gus fault for still having feelings for her. It was my fault for thinking he could change.
