005, outcast

ONCE LO'AK had returned, he gathered the group together, telling them he had something important to inform them about. Xana, Neteyam, Kiri, Tuk, Tsireya, Aonung, Rotxo and Lo'ak were all sat in a circle, watching Lo'ak as he spoke.

He told the group about his meeting with a tulkun and how the tulkun saved his life.

"I wish I had been there, the ocean blessed you with a gift brother." Kiri spoke, a bright smile forming on her lips.

"The tulkun have not returned yet. And no tulktun is ever alone." Aonung voiced, leaning forward slightly from the tree he was rested up against. Xana rolled her eyes at the boy, of course he didn't believe Lo'ak's words.

"This one was. He had a missing fin, a stump on the left side." Lo'ak spoke towards the group mainly maintaining eye contact with Tsireya.

"Payakan." Tsireya mumbled, looking towards Aonung and Rotxo. "Payakan." She spoke again as Aonung's eyes widened slightly. "Who's Payakan?" Xana questioned as Rotxo briefly explained.

"A young tulkun who went rogue. He's outcast, alone. And he has a missing fin."

"They say he is a killer." Tsireya continued as Lo'ak grabbed ahold of the girls arm, trying to get her to understand that their was a truth to his words.

"He killed Na'vi, and other Tulkun's. Not here, but far to the south." Aonung voiced as Lo'ak began loosing his patience with the group. "No, he's no killer." Lo'ak exclaimed, looking at Aonung before back to Tsireya.

"Lo'ak, you are lucky to be alive." Lo'ak shook his head in annoyance. "I'm telling you guys, he saved my life. He's my friend." Neteyam chuckled lightly, making his way over to his little brother.

"My baby bro, a mighty warrior. Who faced the killer tulkun and lived to tell about it." Neteyam joked, shaking his brothers shoulders as Lo'ak rolled his eyes, pushing his brother away from him.

"You guys aren't listening." Lo'ak shouted as he walked away, "No I'm listening, Lo'ak." Tuk shouted towards Lo'ak's receding body. Xana sighed. She knew he was telling the truth, she knew Lo'al better than anyone. He never lied.

It was now later in the day and Lo'ak had still not returned to wherever he had gone too. Xana rode over to the Tsireya, Rotxo, Kiri and Neteyam with Tuk on the back of her ilu.

"Are you guys ready?" Rotxo questioned the Sullys as Xana halted beside them. They hummed in reply as a smile formed on Tsireya's face, the group following closely behind the two Metkayina's.

The group slowly floated through the water on there ilus as they entered the ancestors cave. They arose from the water, the ilu Xana was on making a small nosie. A massive smile formed on Xana's face, it reminded her of home and the hallelujah mountains.

"This is the cove of the ancestors, our most sacred place. Eclipse is the best time of day to be here." Tsireya calmly spoke, the sun setting by the minute. "This is it, this is the spirit tree." Tsireya nodded towards the glowing patch they was currently floating over.

They all got off of their ilu's and began swimming down to the root of the spirit tree. As they reached the bottom, Tsireya helped Xana connect with the tree as her eyes closed, a vision forming in her mind.

"Mommy look at this!" Xana's eyebrows furrowed as she watched a boy run towards her, she looked over her shoulder to see if they was running to someone else, but there was nobody there.

"Mommy are you okay?" The boy asked as Xana bent down to his height, examining him. He had her skin colour, but his features were clearly Metkayina. He had 5 fingers yet his hands were just like the Metkayina's. Who's son was this?

"What is your name?" Xana questioned as his expression dropped slightly, the boy tilting his head in confusion. "Neteyam..." He slowly responded as it was now Xana's turn to become confused.

Why did he have the same name as her brother?

Xana opened her mouth to speak but slammed it shut as a familiar voice shouted towards the pair."Ah there you are Xana! How are you feeling?" Tsireya asked the girl as she placed a hand on Xana's stomach. Xana looked down, her eyes widening as she realised she was pregnant.

Xana looked back up to Tsireya. The girl looked the same, just slightly more mature. "Wha—? Who's the father?" Tsireya's eyebrows furrowed.

"What do you mean? The father is—" Suddenly, she was pulled out of the vision, Rotxo rushing past her towards Kiri. Xana's eyes widened as she watched her sister begin seizing.

Xana acted quickly and pushed the vision she had just seen to the back of her mind as she grabbed Tuk, the group immediately going to the surface as Neteyam pulled Kiri onto one of the ilus.

"Is she breathing?" Rotxo questioned as tears filled Xana'a eyes when Neteyam shook his head. Neteyam began giving CPR as the group began panicking. "Take her back to the village!" Tsireya shouted as Neteyam nodded speeding off. Tsireya, Rotxo and Xana sped after them, quickly reaching the village.

"Xana calm down." Tuk spoke, practically dragging her sister off the ilu and to shore as Jake took Kiri into his arms, everyone following after them. "Mom!" Tuk shouted towards Neytiri, who looked over her shoulder as Tuk beckoned her over. Neytiri's eyes widened as she got closer, realising Xana was on the verge of passing out.

She grasped Xana's head into her heads, Xana resting her forehead on her mothers as she held onto Neytiri's arms to steady herself. "Take a deep breath, Xana. Kiri is okay. We are all okay. Nothing bad is going to happen." Neytiri softly spoke as Xana closed her eyes, a sob escaping the girl as Neytiri hugged her.

"Do not cry my daughter." Neytiri stroked her daughter trees head in a soothing matter. Xana pulled away from the hug after a few minutes, taking a deep breath as she wiped the remaining tears from her eyes.

"Do you want to talk a—" Xana immediately shook her head, knowing how the conversation usually went. "I'm fine, I promise. I just panicked." Xana dismissed her mother, walking away as she kept her head low. Neytiri sighed, watching as her daughter walked away, still discreetly wiping her tears away.

She knew Xana hated feeling and being seen vulnerable. The girl always put up an act that she was never bothered by anything or anyone but every little thing said to her forever became engraved in her mind.

Growing up, Xana always had panic attacks. Almost everyday. Jake and Neytiri spent months trying to understand why she had them so often. They had Norm do several test on her and he said it was simply just panic attacks and she just had more than average Na'vi's.

          A lot more.

For a few years, she didn't have one panic attack, but over the past few months they had been becoming more frequent and Neytiri was becoming worried.

She knew how much it drained Xana and it broke her heart slightly always seeing her daughter that way.
