Narrator's POV

The sun went down for rest and the moon came up with all it's glory. *ugh* over dramatic... Briefly to say, night has fallen.

The residents of tower sat in the living room, except Tony, chatting and bickering. They were talking about funny incidents of their lives. All except Rose and Loki joined the conversation. Then the topic came to school.

" How was your school life? " Bruce asked Rose. "Umm... Never got a chance to attend school during 19 long years of captivity. " She shrugged, trying to act casual. They all fell silent. " Oh! Sorry dear I-" " It's ok Bruce. Never mind. " She brushed it off with a smile, but deep inside she was cracking.

"Illiterate." Loki scoffed making her heart squeeze. She kept quiet, embarrassed. "Stop it Loki! Don't speak of sister like that. " Thor scolded him. " I spoke the truth. " He mumbled, rolling his eyes. The gem glowed making Loki wince.

" I don't wish to disrespect your aunt but but I really don't know how can she think so positive of him! " Nat said. "She's a pious, ol' lady Natasha. She doesn't know about the real monster inside him. He's the God of lies and tricks. Maybe he tricked her. What can you expect from him?" Clint said, scowling.

They kept discussing openly about his status of a murderer and a monster as if there was no Loki sitting with them.

Loki's jaws and fists were clenched tight and Thor continued to stir his coffee, awkwardly silent. Rose started to feel uncomfortable. The argument started because of her and she should stop it. "Guys, enough. Drop the topic please."They stopped. "But I'm not entirely an illiterate. Thanks to Lucy. She taught me the basics and now I can finish reading a novel and do simple sums. " She smiled, a bit proud of herself.

" Lucy is too noisy but she's adorable. " Steve said. Rose cocked an eyebrow and hummed but didn't comment on it. She yawned and groaned, stretching her hands. A sudden surge of weakness flowed through her. " It's full moon tonight? " She asked. Bruce nodded.

" You're powers are dimmed, right? " Steve asked. " Yupp! " She said, leaning her head on Nat's shoulder. " By the way, how old are you grandpa? " She teased Steve, making him flush.

"Don't call me that. Do I- I mean do you really think me that, Rose? " Steve asked, slightly offended. Rose hurriedly sat up straight. " No no Stevie! I was just joking. Please don't feel bad. Actually I never counted your 70 years. They are just wastes. I still think of you as a 27 years old, handsome boy. " Rose smiled patting his cheeks.

Loki snorted.

" Maybe not looks but he is old in his habits. He is as lost as the Asgardians in case of the Technologies. " Nat teased him. " Hey! I'm not lost! " Thor protested. "Shut up! You don't even know how to charge your phone! " Clint mocked him making us laugh.

" I'm not updated too. I mean Steve still had explored the outside life for 26 years but... But I didn't even get to see the sun for 19 years. After two years of hiding when I met Aunt and Lucy, they taught me everything. I didn't even know what movies, cartoons, mobiles,etc. were. I was as stupid as a newborn baby. " Rose said.

" Rose, what do you look like? I mean just give us some details. We're all so much curious about it. " Bruce asked. Rose gulped. " 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯. 𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵. " She thought. " I told you all. I'm too disgusting to look at. I have green skin and blue hairs and *sigh* leave it guys. " She finished with a shaky breathe.

Loli rolled his eyes. " 𝘓𝘪𝘦𝘴." He snickered but kept quiet.

" But tell me one thing. How did you run away from Hydra? And what did you do during the two years of hiding? " Nat asked. Rose paled. She hated these questions and they keep on asking those. After a moment of silence she spoke up. " It would be better if you all don't force me to speak about those days. I don't want to talk about it. " She said looking down.

" Umm.. okay! It's alright. No problem, right guys? " Clint asked. They all nodded. Rose got up. " I am going to check on Mr. Stark once. Bye everyone! " They nodded and she left hurriedly.

" Jarvis, ask Mr. Stark if I can come inside or not. " Rose said, standing outside of Stark's lab. After a second or two the door slid open. She entered inside and was pleasantly surprised. The room was big with all sorts of machines and all. Tony was working on something with great concentration.

" Got bored of chatting? " He asked, not looking at her. She walked near him. " No. I was just... " She sighed. " Just uncomfortable. They were asking the questions that are difficult for me to answer. "

Tony looked at her as she sat on a chair. " They can be pain in the ass sometimes. " He grinned, picking up a screwdriver. " No no! It's not like that. I didn't mean it. I just don't want to talk about my past. " She mumbled as she got up to walk near his table.

All types of chips and metal pieces lay scattered on the table. " What are you doing? " She asked curiously. " Making something for Loki. " He answered. "Gift? " He laughed. " I'm not sure if he's gonna consider it as a gift. " Rose still looked confused.

" Wait, look at this. " He swiped his hand over the table and a hologram appeared out of nowhere. It was a bracelet. "Bracelet?! "

" It will lock his powers. He won't be able to trick anyone anymore. " He said, grimly. Rose at once knew what he was talking about. " I'm really sorry, kid. I promised to keep you safe and give you a new life. I failed. " He scratched his neck. " But I'll make sure, it won't repeat in future. "

" Please don't apologize. It's not your fault. And you don't need to work overnight to make that bracelet. " She said, toying with a screwdriver. " Why do you call me Mr. Stark and not by my name? " He asked, smiling. "Umm... Because I see a father like figure in you and I think it would be disrespectful to call you by your name. " She replied.

He patted her head. " Then leave it to me kid. I'll make sure, no harm comes to you. " Rose grinned sheepishly. " Sir, dinner is ready. " Jarvis announced. " Let me bring our dinner here. We'll eat here together. Ok? " Tony nodded. " Ok. " Rose hummed and teleported away with a *poof*

*poof*

She fell on the floor in the kitchen. "OH MY! ROSE! " Nat shrieked, frightened. Rose stood up, laughing awkwardly. "HeHe! I forgot, my powers are dimmed. " " Silly! " Nat shook her head before bursting out, laughing.

" Who made the dinner? " Rose asked, placing the grilled vegetables on her plate. "Guess who? " Nat said, grinning. " You? " " No."" Clint? " " Nay. "" Bruce? " " Never! "" Steve? " " Yupp. " Nat chuckled.

Rose looked at her,wide eyed. " Cap! Cooking!? Wow! " " Ha! I know it's surprising but it's his hobby besides sketching." " Hmm... It seems I have more to discover about you all."

Nat grinned. "Why two plates?" She asked as Rose took out another plate. "Mr. Stark and me are having dinner together in his lab."" But what is he doing there?"

Rose opened her mouth but closed it quickly again. " You'll get to know tomorrow." She grinned at Natasha who pouted. " C'mon Belle." Rose shook her head laughing. Just before she could escape Natasha stopped her and grabbed her plate before dumping more veggies on it.

" Noo! Why??" She whinned. " Eat all the veggies and don't whine, Belle. Vegetables are good for you." She glared when Rose made barfing sounds. " Alright! I yield." She grumbled when Natasha patted her head. " Go now. And don't teleport. I don't want you to sprawl on the floor with the veggies."

" Alright miss Hitler..." Rose teased before running away with the plates leaving Natasha smiling. " This girl is impossible!"

After the dinner was finished ( Stark made her eat all the vegetables despite her whinings and pleadings ) , she went to keep the plates in the basin. While returning back she bumped into Loki. " My luck really sucks..." She thought, grumbling.

" Watch your step, Earthling." He snapped at her, his eyes darker. " It was just a mistake. Don't be so rude, your majesty. " Rose replied back with same tone. " What if I continue to be rude? What will you do? " He smirked. "Call Steve?"

Rose furrowed her brows in confusion. "Why only Steve?" She thought. "Why will I call him? I'm sufficient for you." She didn't feel like bickering with him and tried to walk pass when suddenly he grabbed her hand and whirled her infront of him.

" What the-" She was cut off by Loki who pinned her on the wall, her hands trapped above her head . His face was so close that she couldn't help but see the dark green flakes dancing in his emerald green iris.

Her breath hitched. " What do you think you are, huh? Know your place and take care of your tone. Unders-" Rose kicked him in his shin, making him release her. Before he could grab her again, she swiped her left leg and knocked his legs out from under him , making him fall down hard on his back. Without wasting a second, she sat on his chest , his hands trapped under her feet above his head.

Loki could have turned and throw her with ease but he laid still, waiting to see what she does next. Clearly to say, he was amused. Rose grabbed his face, a little too hard. Her feet grinding his knuckles. " Listen here you insolent shitty rascal." She growled. " I don't like when a man touches me wrongly. So don't. Touch me. Stay in your limits. It's not your castle and you aren't a prince here. Keep it in mind, sire. " She snarled , her voice a bit muffled because of her mask.

She got up and glared down at Loki, who had his head propped up on his elbows, a smirk on his face. " Shameless bastard." She cursed under her breath. " What if... I don't listen to you? Hmm?" He asked huskily, still laying on the floor. Oh! How badly she wished to punch that smirk off from his perfect face.

"Trust me, you won't like to see me pissed off. Harmful for your health." She returned his smirk before walking away. Loki got up and rubbed his red knuckles. " The game has just started, dear. I'll make sure to end it with your downfall." He growled, laughing softly.

" Listen kid. I've something for you." Rose turned her attention to Tony who had a gun in his hand. " Is that a gun? " She asked, eyeing it with curiosity.

" A special gun. Made by the Tony Stark. Welcome. " Tony boasted making her laugh. " So what does it do? "

" It's a taser gun type but more advanced and...more dangerous. And it's for you. " He said handing it to her. " Why me? " She asked, surprised and awed. The gun was so cool and light.

" Because tomorrow we have a meeting with Pirate Fury and you and Rudolph...will be left alone in the tower. " Rose burst out laughing at the nicknames. Tony chuckled. " And I heard that your powers are dimmed. I can't take a risk. Although his powers will be blocked but still... He could be dangerous. "

Rose looked at Tony's face, suffused with concern. " Don't worry. I'll handle him this time. But what does this gun do? "" The bullet enters the body part at which it's shot and then shocks from inside. Till the energy of the battery dies out, it will continue to shock the person. " He smiled at Rose's slacked jaw. " I told you it's dangerous. "

" And painful too... I-I I can't shoot him! No! What if he dies? " Rose shuttered, clearly shocked. " He won't die. I promise you. But keep it for your own safety. You may need it later on too. " Tony adviced, patting her back.

Rose gulped. " Alright! What could go wrong... " She thought. "Thank you Mr. Stark. You worry about me a lot. " She hugged him. " C'mon Kiddo. You're welcome! " Tony hugged her back.

Huh! What could go wrong... Let's see...
