"I'll need at least one week to get things ready at the gym. "But it's the practical thing to do," Aren replied immediately. "I propose that you travel now and we'll follow you later when we can, it's ridiculous that you have to stay here in LA doing nothing while Vera works."

"We could stop in Spain and visit Iselen's family," Terra leaned forward to check one map.

"My family?" I asked scared.

"Don't you want to see them?"

We can spare you that telling them that we're friends and that's all." I nodded reluctantly but admitting it was the best idea. "So, we'll make plans to travel this weekend and we'll see you at Marcus' home in a few days..." Aren smiled and took a look at the oven.

"When lunch will be ready?"

"It'll take half an hour, maybe a little more... But I'll set the table in the dining room, this kitchen is too hot..."

"Perfect," the Viking cut me off abruptly. "If you'll excuse us, we'll see you later..." The vampire dragged a flushed Vera out of the room while his sisters burst into laughing.

"I don't even need to read his mind to know what they're going to do," I grumbled shaking my head in disbelief. "Does this mean that vampires can't control themselves, not even for 30 minutes?"

"When our mates are involved no, we cannot... you should know that..." Terra smirked mischievously flashing one of her fangs while leaving her chair in order to find her cigarette packet and I blushed slightly. Ruby was chuckling when I tilted my head to take a look at the maps and plane tickets on the table but then, hearing Terra moving behind me and remembering how she'd made fun of me, I decided to listen to the little devil sitting on my shoulder: I leaned my torso forward with a fake innocent grin on my lips, raising my butt covered with denim shorts just a little bit, with my eyes fixed on the documents.
