Eyes and tears

Yoongi woke up to his phone ringing. One eye open he checked the time before answering the phone.

"Yeoboseyo" Yoongi said in his morning low voice.

"Hyung, today is the day! Wake up already!" It was Jimin.

"What day? And what are you doing this early?"

"Ani, isn't it the first recording with Lisa? Woah, hyung! I'm jealous!! Of course you are the best, you get to work with world famous people."

" Yah, just hang up if you are going to talk some nonsense. And how do you know about all this? Did Taeyang hyung tell you? I really need to stop working with your friends. You are so nosy and loud. Did you wake up early to tell me this?"

"No, no.. I have some vocal training today. Just now came to company. Should I visit your studio during the day? Sneak peek of a world famous star?"

"Yah, don't even think about coming today, arasseo? I have no idea how I'm going to talk to her, don't even try to come and make me uncomfortable. I'm serious, Jimin-ah"

"Okay, okay. I'm not going to come today then. Hyung, look cool today and do your best."

"Yah, I'm not going to battlefield. Okay, whatever, I'll get ready now. I'll hang up now."

" Alright hyung, update me about everything. Hwaiting!"

At exactly 9.30am, Lisa entered the Genius Lab and greeted by Yoongi, the usual, non-looking muttering.

Yoongi can feel the mild floral yet spicy unique fragrance.

"Um.. how are you feeling today, Lisa?"

"I'm good, sunbae. I'm bit nervous, since this is my first time doing this type of music. So, please bear with me, sunbae."

"No Lisa, don't worry much. Just be natural. That's all."

They started their first recording together.

One hour into the recording, Lisa felt totally exhausted. They couldn't finish the first verse even, and the man across the glass seemed get in her nerves every passing minute. What is his problem, really? What is he expecting?

He stopped her once again.

"Listen Lisa, you really not reaching there. Don't try on difficult things, just do naturally. Don't try things you learn in your class for this,"

Lisa bit her lip. "Sunbae let me try it again" she said. 'If you wanted a natural singer, why didn't you get a vocalist? And did you just make fun of me for going to vocal classes? What a psycho!'

"Sure! Just sing like normally. Don't try things you are not good at" Yoongi said.

Lisa can see how Suga is reluctant to look her in the eye, yet apart listening to her singing. 'He really hates me. What did I do wrong to treat me like that?'. Lisa felt a lump in her throat.

And music started again. But Lisa cannot do this anymore. She knew her eyes start to fill. She felt so frustrated, helpless and small. She fight back her tears as she sang.

When the music finished, Yoongi's voice came from next room. "That's good Lisa! Well done!"

'But why his voice sounded sarcastic. Is he making fun of me again?' Lisa remove the headphones and went to the room Suga was in. She bowed to him, "Joesonghamnida sunbaenim. I don't think I can do this" she then took her bag and left the room.

Yoongi was stunned for a moment to what had happened. Then he knew something went terribly wrong. He left after her.

Lisa was near to lift when Yoongi caught her.

"Lisa wait! What is wrong?"

"Sorry for wasting your time, sunbaenim. I shouldn't have done anything I can't." Her eyes were tearing so much.

"Listen Lisa, just give me 5mins. We can talk about this."

"Aniyo sunbaenim. Joesonghamnida!" Lisa pushed the button for elavator. Yoongi caught her hand and turned her towards him.

"Please, please Lisa, We can't talk here, there are so many people around. Just give me 2mins to explain myself. Please!" He seemed to really taken back.

Lisa looked at him. 'However he is a producer. He doesn't have to beg to a sloppy singer.' She thought.

Yoongi looked her eyes, they are the deepest eyes he has ever seen. The tears crawling down making blotchy marks on her mask. He lead her behind a big artificial plant. This floor is normally deserted, but you never know.

"Lisaya, mianhae. I didn't use words carefully. It's all my fault. What I really meant was, I wanted you to be yourself and sing. I wanted that honesty of your voice. And I really meant it when I say, you sang well. That's when I heard your real voice."

Lisa's eyes got bigger. She stopped crying and stared at Yoongi's eyes and then his mouth to understand if he is telling the truth. Yoongi felt his chest getting heavy. He can't look at those eyes anymore. But if he look away, she will think he is lying.

"But oppa, ani, sunbae.. you really don't like me much. I know it. I know sunbae hate me" 'Oppa? The way it sound when she say oppa, is this girl trying to kill me? And what is wrong with me? It's not first time anyone said oppa to me? What is wrong with me, Jinja?'

"What do you mean I hate you? I never not liked you. Why would you think like that? I'm just happy I got a chance to work with you. Why would I ever hate you?" Yoongi asked surprised.

"Ani, sunbae never look me in the eye. You always try to avoid me, not just now, before too."

Yoongi sighed. "Lisa, don't think bad. I'm very antisocial person. I never tried to avoid you, it's just my way towards anyone. Taeyang hyung, I know him for sometime now. But when I meet someone for first time, I act really awkward. I'm sorry I made you sad. Just know that I didn't mean to be like that."

Lisa stared for little more. "Don't apologise, sunbae. I act too sensitive sometimes. I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable."

" Aniyo, I am the one who made you uncomfortable. Are you okay now?"

Lisa nodded her head.

"Let's get a break today and start next day. Lisa, are you okay to be my vocalist?"

"Of course, sunbae. We will start next day. I could use some rest today. I will leave then, sunbae" Lisa bowed and left.

Yoongi watched her leave.

It is the night. After dinner, Lisa brushed her teeth and came to bed. Her cats are sleeping on their corner of the bed. Phone chimed. A message from Suga? It is the first time he messaged. Lisa quickly opened the message.

"Sorry I made you upset today. Hope you are feeling better now.Yoongi"

"Yoongi?" 'It's his name.'

"I'm good sunbae. Thanks for understanding. Good night!". She sent.

Then she changed his contact name from 'Suga sunbae' to ' Yoongi sunbae'.
