Chapter 3 – Tears In The TARDIS.

The Doctor's P.O.V.

She was gone. I had lost her. She had died because of me. Like the rest of them.

Madison was dead.

“Maddy. Please wake up. Please! I'll be a better person. Just wake up for me. I won't care if it's a big joke and you just trying to get back at me. I just need you awake with me. Please, please Madison.” I begged, clutching onto her limp body.

“Doctor? Doctor, U.N.I.T. said they will take care of Maddy. They promised they've changed and will look after her properly this time.” Amy said softly, crouching beside us.

“Don't tell me you actually believe them, Amy! We can't just leave her here. We have to try and save her!” I pleaded, as tears streamed down my face.

“I'm so sorry, Doctor. But she's gone. We can't save her. You need to let her go.” Amy sobbed, as she pulled my arms away from Madison.

“I can't believe she's gone. I love her, Amy. I really do. I'm sorry that I don't love River. But I really need her now. I love her so much!” I cried, breaking down in Amy's arms.

“Hey, shhh now. Don't worry about River. She doesn't deserve your love, right now. But we have to go, Doctor. U.N.I.T. are in control now. They're blowing up this place.”Amy explained, rocking me back and forth.

“What? But what about Madison?”

“U.N.I.T. are going to take care of her. I know what happened last time, Doctor, but it won't happen again. They have a new team in charge now. So they will look after her properly this time. They'll give her the send off she deserves. I promise.” Amy promised, clutching my hand.

“Guys, are you ready? U.N.I.T are about to take this place down. Doctor?” Rory called out, standing by us on the floor.

“I think so. Doctor? It's time to let go.” Amy whispered, letting go of my hand.

“I'm never letting go of her. I couldn't promise her to move on. But I promised I would love her forever.” I replied, moving over to Madison again and grabbing her hand.

“We'll wait in the TARDIS, Doctor.” Amy said, walking away with Rory.

“Oh Madison. I am so so sorry. It was never meant to end like this. It was meant to be us traveling round the Universe forever. The last Time Lords. Guess I'm on my one again, then!

“I'm really sorry for every bad things I ever said to you. I didn't deserve you. Nobody did. You were just too brilliant for anybody. Even me.

“Well, I guess this is it, Maddy. My final goodbye to you. Maybe we'll bump into one another again someday. But until then, I'll see you later. I love you. I always will do. I'll never forget you, either. I'll keep fight for the Universe in your name.

“Goodbye for now, Madison. I hope you had a wonderful life. Love and farewell, sweetheart. I love you forever. Goodbye, Madison Brown.” I said tearfully.

I lent over and kissed her forehead and gave her hand a final squeeze, before letting go. I stood and wiped the last traces of tears from my face, before facing a team of U.N.I.T by the door.

“Oi! U.N.I.T.” I shouted, as they turned to face me.

“Doctor?” A man called back, with a face of concern.

“If I find out you have mis-treated her again, I will be back her in a flash. You look after her properly this time! Even though she is.... dead, you still treat her with respect! She saved your lives so many time. So look after her. Or you'll have me to answer too!” I warned, earning all their attentions.

“She will be cared for properly, Doctor. U.N.I.T. is better now Colonel James Grandes has gone. She will get the send off she deserves!” The same man confirmed, giving a weak smile.

“She'd better. Or I will come back for you all.”

“Are you leaving now, Sir? Will you not stay for her send off?”

“I think if I stayed and watched, I'd end up on the death bed with her. So, you lot! Stay out of trouble and start a new way. Maybe see you again some when.” I shouted, as I turned to walk to the TARDIS.

“Goodbye, Doctor. We hope to meet you again under better circumstances.” The man said, as they all saluted me. I stopped and turned to face them all again.

“Don't salute. Don't ever salute me. If anything, salute Madison. She deserves it lot more than me.” I commanded, in a stern voice. They all shuffled round and faced Maddy. Saluting her.

I took my final look at her. I never thought I'd have to do that. A single tear fell down my face as I studied over her. The way her body lay still across the floor and her hand lead across her right heart, Her blonde hair sprayed around her head. The faint smile placed upon her lips.

I was going to miss her so much.

I let out a deep sigh, before opening the TARDIS doors. I walked in and closed the doors behind. That was the last time I was going to see her.

I slowly walked up to the console, to see Amy and Rory waiting for me. I flashed them a fake and weak smile, before setting the TARDIS in fight. They stood in silence as I slumped down onto the TARDIS chair.

“So. Bedtime for you, Ponds. It's been a long day! Time for some sleep!” I said, breaking the silence.

“Doctor. I don't think you should be alone.” Amy replied, sitting next to me.

“It doesn't matter, Amy. Just go to bed.” I said, rather harshly

“Doctor, Amy's right! You shouldn't be on your own after this! You need people round you!” Rory joined in,standing in front of me.

“Really? How would you know what I need right now, Rory? When have you witnessed the death of your loved one? Hm? I don't remember losing somebody you love!” I yelled, coming face-to-face with Rory.

“In 2010, I lost Amy to you.” Rory replied, before walking off into the TARDIS.

“Rory! Wait!” Amy called after him. “What was that for?"

“Well, he doesn't know how I'm feeling, does he? Nobody does!” I shouted, in a rage.

“Really? I know. Oh in case you forgot, I've lost Rory many times. And each time it gets worse. So somebody does know how your feeling, Doctor. And I'm sorry you have to feel that way.” Amy replied, before following after Rory.

“Amy. I'm sorry.” I whispered, as she disappeared round the corner.

I was so stupid. I has just lost a loved one and now I was pushing away the others. I was letting everyone slip away, like sand through my fingers. God I was an idiot!

Anger rose inside me and I began to lash out on the TARDIS. I punched and pushed the TARDIS console, until my fists with pain. I lifted up my foot and smashed into the bottom part of the console.

“ARRGGHH!” I cried out in pain, as I clutched my foot.

I landed down on the chair again, as my foot withered in pain. I gripped it tight, as my eyes began to water over. Tears spilled over, as I tipped my head over the back of the seat.

Memories of Madison filled my mind, just like they always will do now. I missed her so much. I had only just lost her but I wanted her back so bad. I needed her with me. Having another Time Lord around was brilliant! But now I was the last one again.

She was now another death carried round on my conscious.

“Oh Madison. I don't think I've ever needed and wanted somebody so much.” I whispered to the empty machine.

Empty.

Alone.

Just like always.
