Chapter Ten

*Next day**Austin's POV*

I walked down the hallway at school by myself. Madison and Alan went to get something to drink so I walked to history alone.

Everyone whispered about me and the "new girl". That was all anyone talked about now.

"Why would she hang out with him? He's such a loser."

"She's so pretty. I don't get it. She could've been popular."

"I mean, I get that he's a baseball player, but like, he's not even a cool one."

I shook my head and ignored those people. Madison was an amazing person and nobody wanted to see that. All that cared about was that the hot new girl was hanging out with the losers.

I had almost made it to class with no problems, until Colin stepped in front of me.

I sighed and looked at him. "What's up, Colin?"

He gave me a dirty look. "I don't get it, Carlile. What kind of hold do you have on her?"

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

He shrugged. "She's the hottest chick I've ever seen. And she chooses to spend her time with you. So, what's the deal? Are you black mailing her?"

I chuckled. "Maybe she just enjoys hanging out with a guy who doesn't have the bigger ego on the planet."

He stepped closer to me. "Excuse me?"

I felt someone grab my hand and looked over. Madison was standing next to me, holding my hand. "For your information, Connor," she said, smiling, "I like hanging out with Austin because he's a good guy. He's not a bully, like you." She let go of my hand and got toe to toe with Colin. "It's very obvious you bully people you're jealous of."

Colin scoffed. "Why would I be jealous of that scrawny fool? And for the last time, my name is Colin."

She smiled and looked down at his crotch. "I can tell from that pitiful bulge in your jeans that you're definitely compensating for something." She giggled and bit her lip. "That's why you bully him. You're upset that, for a guy your size, you're little," she chuckled, "and I mean very little dick doesn't match your big strong body." She stepped away from him. "Maybe one day a girl will understand." She took my hand. "But as for me, I need a real man. Like Austin."

I smiled. Colin's face was dark red and his fists were clenched. He was mad.

Madison smiled. "Anyways, nice talking to you, Connor." She pulled me away and we walked into class.

I shut the door behind me and let go of Mads hand. She turned to me. "I'm sorry if I just embarrassed you."

I smiled. "No. That was awesome. Nobody has ever stood up to Colin that way."

She smiled. "He deserves it." She took a step closer to me. "You protected me last night, so it was my turn to protect you." She kissed my cheek. "I always probably just helped you a lot with the ladies." She winked and went and sat down at her desk.

I followed her and sat down next to her. "Everyone's gonna think we're dating."

She smiled. "I didn't think of that."

I smiled. "With you around I might just be able to run this place."

She nodded. "Hell yeah. You can be the king."

I playfully nudged her. "Not without a queen."

She chuckled. "King Austin and Queen Madison." She nodded. "I like it."

---The next few weeks at school were awesome. Colin didn't mess with me at all. Madison and I spent every day together and she slept over at least 3 times a week. We were getting closer than I've ever been with anyone.

Today we were at the baseball fields. I had try outs coming up in about two months and I wanted to make sure I was ready.

Madison stood at the pitchers mound and pulled my baseball cap down. "Ready?"

I nodded. "Throw it."

She threw the ball and I swung the bat, cracking the ball right over the fence.

She smiled and clapped. Scotty, Mark, and Alan cheered. "Awesome, Austin!" She turned to me and smiled real big. "That will be your all star name! Awesome Austin!" She ran over to me and grabbed my hand, holding it up in the air. "Awesome Austin hits it out of the park!"

The boys cheered and I smiled, picking up Mads and swinging her around. "And his sidekick, Mad Mads! The great world traveler!"

She giggled. "I love you guys."

I set her down and gave her the bat. I took my place at the pitchers mound and threw the ball. Madison swung and hit it pretty far. The boys went running for the ball and Madison ran the bases. I went after her and caught her around the waist, holding her at the base. She laughed really hard and tried to get away from me.

"No fair!" She squealed.

I smiled and Mark got the ball, throwing it to Alan who ran over to us and touched the ball to Madison's arm.

"You're out!" Scotty yelled.

I let go of Madison and she playfully smacked my arm. "You're an asshole."

I grinned. "I thought I was awesome?"

She smiled and rolled her eyes.

Mark grabbed Madison's hand. "Come here."

She looked at him and smiled. "Where?"

Scotty smiled. "Uh oh. Mark's taking Madison to the infamous make out spot."

Madison laughed. "What?"

Mark shook his head. "I wanna show you something." He smiled bigger.

I smiled. "He's gonna show you his tiny penis."

Mark led Madison towards the old deer blind in the woods. Mark took all the girls he liked there.

Alan looked at me and frowned. "Why are you smiling?"

"What?"

He came over to me. "You clearly like Madison. And you just watched Mark take her to the deer blind."

I shrugged. "I have a crush but it's fine. Madison is my best friend. She's like one of the guys."

Alan rolled his eyes. "Liar."

I picked up my bat and started to practice my swing. I wasn't lying. I did like Madison but it wasn't anything big. I thought she was hot and nice. She could do whatever she wanted with Mark. I didn't care.

---*Madison's POV*

Mark pulled me through the woods. I chuckled.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

He smiled. "There's this old deer blind. It has an amazing view of the ocean."

I smiled. "You're not really gonna show me your dick are you?"

He chuckled. "Only if you want me to."

I smiled and followed him. He was handsome. He had jet black hair and pretty pale blue eyes. He was definitely a ladies man.

After a minute more of walking we reached the deer blind. He helped me climb up and I saw the view.

"Wow." I said. "This is beautiful."

The sunlight hit the sparkling water perfectly.

I felt Mark's hand on my lower back and I smiled. "Yeah this view is amazing."

I turned and looked at him. He was looking over my body, his lips dangerously close to mine. I smiled. "You're not even looking at the ocean."

He smiled and his hand ran up my thigh. "That's not the view I was talking about." He licked his lips. His hand went to the zipper on my jeans and I pushed him away. He frowned. "What's wrong?"

I shook my head. "I'm still a virgin."

He smiled. "That's okay. I'll be gentle." He leaned in to kiss me.

I laughed nervously and pushed him away. "Mark, I'm not gonna lose my virginity to my friend in a deer blind."

He looked at me and nodded. "Yeah. Okay."

I stood up and climbed out of the blind, running back to the baseball field and going straight to Austin. I linked arms with him and stayed close. No one said anything. They probably knew I turned Mark down by the look he had on his face when he came back. Austin put his arm around me and kissed the top of my head.
