THE STORY OF YANG JEONGIN
13:36, 3 June 2023Song recommendation: Daddy issues by The Neighbourhood.
Years ago.
It must have been a lot for a five year old to listen to his father screaming at his mother like that, It must have hurt the little boy a lot to hear his own father saying how much he hates him and his mother.. It must have scared the boy a lot to hear the noises of something crashing on to the floor like that..
Tears rolled down his eyes as he heard his mother cry for help as his father hurt her, The sound of him slapping her across the face and yelling at her and saying how he wished she never came in to his life.. All those noises filled his ears, Leading for his heart to beat rapidly in fear..
There was nothing he could do, He wasn't able to protect his mother.. He wasn't able to do anything about those scars left on his mother's skin.. All he could do was listen to his mother and hide himself at the darkest corner of the room while these things go on..
Whenever their fights calms down the boy's mother would always rush upstairs, Hiding all her pain and scars with a fake bright smile. Then she would be pulling the scared boy in to her warm embrace, Calming down her crying child while running her shaky hands through her son's hair. Holding back her own tears as she comfort her small boy.
But as time passed by things started changing, Soon the mother noticed the boy being the first one to approach her after every fight that she had with her husband. She would be always finding herself in her child's embrace as her son comforts her, Trying to make her stop crying, quite the opposite of what it all used to be like.
But then she watched her son growing more protective over her, He started protecting her from her husband. Screaming back at his father even if it resulted him to get beaten up. The boy may have been a little weak then cause he was only a kid but yet he gave everything to protect his mother from that monster.
The boy grew more older and the hate he had towards his father also grew stronger, He felt himself feeling disgusted at how his father was, That man was always coming back home drunk just to beat up his wife and son, He was crazy, Cause no one in their right mind could be this cruel to someone.
Well actually his father was a drug addict and a criminal who was wanted by the cops for a while. His son always had the urge to push his own father infront of the cops and let them arrest him but his mother never let him do that, cause that women was crazy enough to still love that man after everything he did to her, And that was the thing yang jeongin hated the most about his mother.
But at a point jeongin couldn't blame her as well, His father used to be a great lover once, The nicest man anyone could have but everything took turns after their marriage, The man's real self started showing.. But the women refused to believe that the man she fell in love with was a person like this..
The sound of jeongin panting heavily filled the empty gym of his school, Expect the sound of his own breathing nothing else was heard but then the sound of his fist meeting with the punching bag cut off the silence. The boy launched few of his punches on the punching bag before collapsing on to the hard floor, feeling absolutely tired after the boxing practice he just had.
After a few minutes of laying still like that the boy pushes himself up then slowly making himself inside the washroom to clean himself up before going home.
The boy splashes the water on to his face few times before turning the tap off and raising his head to meet eyes with his own through the mirror.
He been doing boxing for almost an year now.. Trying his best to become stronger so he could prove his father that he actually wasn't a weak pathetic soul who couldn't even protect himself. He wanted to prove his father wrong so badly..
The boy ruffles his hair neat before grabbing his school bag and leaving the school to get to his own house.
The whole walk to his house was just him humming to a random song with the background noises of the vehicles honking or moving and then the voices of people's laughter and talks. All of those voices piercing in to his ears as his empty eyes stared ahead.
Soon enough the familiar house comes to his view.. The boy stops on his track just to take a deep breath in to prepare himself for whatever has to come..
He jogs up to the front door and as soon as he places his hands on top of the door knob the sound of something breaking was heard and following behind was a scream of a women.
Jeongin felt his heart dropping to his stomach at that familar voice, His eyes goes wide before he quickly pushes the door open. He rushes inside with the loud voice of his own rapidly beating heart filling his ears. Reaching the living room he was met with the most horrifying scene, It was something which made him feel sick by all the emotions that ran through him. Anger, fear, many more like those consumed him and it made him lost himself completely.
Blood was dripping down Mrs. Yang's head uncontrollably, The red liquid dripped down her face as she screamed and cried in pain, Holding on to her own head which was bleeding. The man who stood infront of her drops the glass bottle that was reason for this bloody mess, The glass bottle falls on to the ground breaking in to pieces the sound of that particular noise resonant throughout the whole house and at the same time another noise followed behind.
Jeongin grabbed and pushed the male down on to the floor. The boy soon was punching the fuck out of the man (lol) underneath him, Ignoring all the cries and begging from the male as he keeps on punching the guy on the face.. pure rage was seen inside that boy's eyes.. He almost wanted to kill that man.. He didn't even cared if it was his own father. He had enough. It was time to end this fucking chaos.
Jeongin finally stops beating up the male and he only did that because of his mother's cry.. which got louder. He managed to gain some senses and rushed to get his mother to the hospital. With his blood covered hands he helped his mother up then glancing at the man who laid on the floor with blood covering half of his face, His face looked completely destroyed by what jeongin have done to him.
And that was the last time he saw his father..
Jeongin got his mom to the hospital and she managed to be just fine even after loosing that much of blood and the boy felt so much thankful for that. After making sure she was completely fine jeongin decided to get to the police station. He filed the complaint against his father and because of his father being a wanted criminal made the cops to act fast.
After all of that chaos him and his mother finally moved out to another house, This time to an small yet decent apartment.. Jeongin had to see his mother fell in to a dark hole for a while, She barely smiled or even spoke.. But he knew she needed some time to process everything and he decided to let her rest and take her time.
But then because of the financial shortage jeongin had to drop out of his school and then start working on four different places.. He was so young back then but yet he had to went through all of that.. He never had a normal childhood, No friends, No happy family, No fun.. just a heavy responsible and burden over his weakening shoulders.
But he never complained once.. He had hope, the hope that all of this will come to an end and for once in his life everything will go right.. he kept on repeating this in his head every time he felt himself feeling tired.. And it was so strong of a teen boy to even think like that..
But as days pass by his mother finally snapped out of it, She admitted that all of this was for the best and what she have to do right now was to stay strong and help her son rather than losing her mind over some man who never really loved her.. She realised that loving and caring for someone who does the same is the best than doing that for someone who will never return it.
Like that she also started going for a few works and what helped her the most was when she joined this one cafe. The owner of the shop was one of her friend from high school and realising how much of a hard time she was going through her friend offered help. She even helped jeongin to get back to school and from there was the start of something new.
The cafe which jeongin's mother was working in was going so well from the start but after his mother joined in alot more progress was made in that store as she was somewhat really good at baking, one of her pastery grew famous and in order with that the cafe also became pretty famous among the people of busan.
Since then it was always a rush inside the cafe, Every staffs busy in their works, not even having a proper time to rest. But yet it was for the best, All of the workers and the owner were happy about the growth of the store.
Like that one night after the cafe was closed mrs. Yang walked inside the locker room to pack her things to leave but as she walks in her eyes met with the sight of the owner of the cafe. The women was a very lean and tall women, She had a short hair cut and long and sharp eyes which made her look fierce. She looked pretty intimidating from outside but behind that the women was just a pure soul who was kind enough to do anything in her power for the one's who was suffering.
But at the moment what amazed mrs. Yang was at the sight of the women leaned against the locker with a light up cigarette between her fingers, She wasn't facing mrs. Yang but just lost in her own world as she stared at a blank wall.
"Mrs. Lee.."
Jeongin's mother whispers out but it was loud enough to gain the other women's attention on her. Mrs. Lee's eyes moves towards the female standing at the doorway soon quickly turning her whole body to face her friend.
Mrs. Yang's averted her gaze from the women's face to the cigarette as she asked.
"You smoke..?"
A soft chuckle left the short-haired women's mouth as she replied.
"Well I do...It was somewhat the only way to distract myself from all those bullshit..."
Mrs. Yang scrunched her eyebrows together as she walked more closer to her friend.
"I don't know what exactly this "bullshit" is, but whatever it was I don't think so using a drug to distract yourself was the best decision. It's just gonna destroy you even more..."
The women says as she stares deep in to the taller women's eyes, Concern was seen deep inside those pupils which stared up in to the taller's. Mrs. Lee laughs again as she smiles widely at the shorter women.
"Yunjin-ah..You really haven't changed much from highschool.."
Mrs. Lee says as she drops the cigarette on to the floor and then afterwards stomping on it.
"..And I am glad that you haven't changed.."
The short-haired female adds in, Now using more of an low voice as her light brown eyes moves to meet the shorter women's once again.
"But I had to make that decision..I was stupid enough to do so.. And it's not like i care even if it kills me.."
Mrs. Yang's eyes widens at that as she speaks again.
"Why won't you care? You should ca--"
The short-haired women cuts her off.
"There is no point for me to live..From the last day of highschool to here, I haven't felt anything else than pain...I didn't even had a single person beside me while I went through all of that.."
At this point both of their eyes were filled with tears. Mrs.yang parts her lips apart as she says.
"I am sorry--"
"Don't be.. it's not your fault.. And it's better if we no more talk about this."
Mrs.lee cuts her off again as she flashes an other smile.
"Well fuck all of that! You should pack up and go home! your little boy must be waiting for you!"
Mrs. Lee says as she pushes yunjin to her locker then walking out of there. Yunjin stares at the women who soon escapes out of her sight through the door, The door shuts close behind as yunjin stood there in the locker room all alone. Nothing but silence enveloping the room.
But at that moment little did she knew that it would be her last time to talk to her friend like that.
Mrs. Lee committed suicide that exact night and all the rights over the cafe was handed over to yunjin by mrs. Lee now making her the new owner of the shop..Even all her money was left to yunjin.. And everything about it was made more clear in letter which was left to yunjin by her.
The sound of the door unlocking could be heard as jeongin walks inside their apartment with his mother following just behind. Both of them were in an all black attire as they just got back from Mrs. Lee's funeral. Mrs. Yang sits down on the couch as her puffy and red eyes stared at the floor, Those empty eyes boring in to the wooden floor as she spits out no word.
The women was so tired of everything, She thought everything would actually make a good turn in her life for once but yet again she was left in a dark pit of sadness.. Jeongin stares at his mom with sad eyes as he walks closer to her, The boy kneels before her making the women to avert her gaze to her son. Jeongin quickly dives in for giving his mother a hug, Yunjin closes her eyes tight at that as she wraps her arms back around her son soon letting the tears slip down from her closed eyes.
After a moment of staying like that Yunjin taps her son's shoulder, signalling him to break the hug. As they broke the hug Yunjin took the boy's face in to her warm hands as she left a soft kiss over her son's forehead.
"I don't know what I did to deserve such a son like you.."
She says with tear filled eyes. Jeongin smiles at his mother as he says.
"You did alot of things to deserve me..and you deserve many more.."
The boy said making his mother realise how mature he have grown already, And to be honest it hurts to see that, He should not be this matured already, he should be acting like any other teen boy would at this age, But she understands that the things he have went through plays a major role in this behaviour of his and she wished that he wouldn't had to go through this shitty life.. She wished she could give him a better and brighter life.. She wish she could give the boy his lost childhood. She so badly wish that she could make the boy the happiest.
"Eomma you look so drained out, You should take some rest I will make us some tea!"
Jeongin says as he got up from his position.
"No, no I am fine! I will make the tea, you should go do your school works or something."
Yunjin says as she also quickly gets up from her seat.
"It's Sunday tomorrow so I still have time to do my school works so you should go and take some rest and maybe.."
The boy trails off as his eyes travels to the letter clenched in his mother's hand.
"Maybe you should also read that letter in the meantime.."
And that was when Yunjin remembered about the letter making her gave up on that small fight with her son. She walks inside the bedroom then closing the door behind as she takes a seat on the end of the bed.
With her shaking hands she started to unfold the letter..
Dear, Yujin..
Yeah, I know I made another foolish desicion.. But I am sorry I wasn't able to take it anymore.. I was that bored of my life, And I am sure living anymore would just hurt me more but I am glad I could do some things and see some people before I could end this. And I never told you what actually happened so I guess I should through this letter..I actually lost my family years back in an accident, Got my heart broken by someone who I loved alot, Got left alone.. Many more like those keep on happening so I decided to end this stupid life of mine maybe I made this decision cause I am a coward but there was no other way to stop this pain and before I could end it I made a list of things I wanted to do before it all could come to a stop.. And one of it was to meet you and to tell you something which I always wanted to tell you but never was able to.. I actually was in love with you since highschool but before I could confess Hajoon did, but fuck he was an asshole and it makes me wish more that I was able to confess before him but even if I had confessed you may have rejected me..I know you can't like women that way, I am sorry I loved you, I couldnt stop myself from loving you and for this love all I could do is to help you and your son to keep on living. So this is an official goodbye yunjin, Please take good care of yourself and your kid! Promise me to live a happy life.
By minhae.
(That letter lowkey sucked)
Yujin didn't knew what to even think, All she could do was break in to an another crying session while pressing the letter to her chest.
Time passes by like that as she sit there crying her chest out, trying her best to keep it low so her son won't be hearing her. But that was until a loud noise interrupted her, It was the noise of something exploding.
Eyes growing wide the women rushes out of the bedroom to check up on what that noise was. The dark smoke surrounded her, Entering her nostrils fast and strongly making her to cough out loud but she tried to concentrate and walk forward.
"JEONGIN!?"
The women yelled out in search of her son but heard no response. She was starting to feel more weak, Heart racing fast because of the concern and worry that filled her up.
The sound of the fire extinguisher soon filled the atmosphere and following that sound she reached infront of the small dining room area of that apartment watching his son putting down a fire. With wide eyes she tried to move closer to him but the boy screamed.
"Don't come near!"
He managed to finally put the fire down soon enough watching the smoke disappearing making their vision clear.
Yunjin watched her son who was panting loudly, He puts down the fire extinguisher following behind sitting down with it. She took quite steps towards him as jeongin kept his eyes fixed on to the floor while gasping for air.
"What happened here?"
She asked surprisingly sounding calm. Jeongin says nothing in return. The mother noticed how her son's eyes were wide open, Even his body was stiff, Chest going up and down dramatically, Fingers curled in to a fist..
"Jeongin.."
"I-I did this.."
The boy finally spits out, voice cracking as he speaks. His mother furrows her eyebrows as she asks.
"How?"
Jeongin slowly lifts his teary eyes to meet with his mother's face. He takes in a sharp breath before trying his best to explain what just happened..
A while ago..
Jeongin was pouring the tea in to the cup, His eyes watching the hot liquid filling the cup and noticing the cup being filled enough he moves the tea pot to the next cup.
The atmosphere was really quite that the sound of the liquid falling in to the cup sounded like the loudest noise to him.
Sighing softly he puts down the pot as he carries the tea cups to the small dining table of theirs. Soon he reaches in front of the familiar table making him move his hands to put down the cup. At that time his mind was all over the place, Thinking about everything, The past, The present just everything that he had to go through and it end up hurting his heart.. The sudden ache he felt inside his heart was suddenly turning itself to something else.
Jeongin's stops on his movements as he felt it getting hard to breath normally.. He felt something rushing through his body, Some type of a feeling which gave him shivers.. It felt so weird..And it almost felt like he would die without being able to breath.
The boy tries to gasp for air, The grip around the cup loosening as it falls on to the floor and at that same time he felt the palms of his hands getting unnaturally hot, The sound of the glass cup crashing on to the floor and the sound of the dining table exploding was in sync.
Jeongin's falls on his back at the force of the explosion, His eyes wide as it stares at the fire that stood up like a devil which could eat you up any moment.
The boy wasted no time and quickly moved out to the exit of the apartment and grabbing on to the fire extinguisher that was placed at the hallway of the apartment.
He quickly spray the fire extinguisher, Praying to every god that this fire would die down just with this and with his luck god did heard his pray.
Present time.
Jeongin's mom stares at the boy in disbelief, It was really hard for her to believe something like that.. And before she could even proceed to think more about it the doorbell is heard.
Jeongin glances at the door then moving his gaze back at his mother, He stares up with fear filled eyes. He was scared, Scared that people will find out he is somewhat not a normal human being..
Yunjin just closes her eyes before taking a deep breath in and moving towards the door. Opening the door as she meets with worried neighbours.
"Is everything okay Mrs. Yang?"
A women asked.
"Ahh well there was a fire that spread at the kitchen but we have take care of it and is currently cleaning the mess up, I am so sorry for the disturbance."
Yunjin apologizes as she bows down at her neighbours.
"It's okay mrs. Yang, but are you guys fine? Do we need to call the emergency?"
Another neighbour asks, Gulping the saliva down her dry throat yujin raises her head back up as she puts on her famous fake smile.
"We are both completely fine there is no need to call the emergency, Thank you all for the concern but we are fine and we wouldn't like to bother you guys with this.."
"It won't be a bother to us! We are happy to help."
"No no its fine we are sure we can handle this by ourself!"
And like that after almost an hour of assuring that they didn't needed any help the neighbours finally decided to leave making the mother to quickly close the door behind and rush back to her son who didn't move an inch from where he was sitting before.
She stared at her son with unsure eyes, She didn't knew what to say, how to react, She completely had no idea about what was going on with her child. She even started to doubt if it was something else which made this place explode like this but then there was no such things placed here for that to occur.
"Jeongin.."
She called out but the boy didn't respond, He just hung his head low. Taking the dead silence in for a minute she called out for him again but now moving closer to him.
"Eomma..."
He finally responded with a low and strained voice, The mother's eyebrows furrowed at that.
"I don't feel really good.."
Worry started washing over the women's whole body as she quickly took a seat beside jeongin on the floor, placing her hand over her child's face and as she did she felt the boy's face burning hot.. She forced the boy to raise his head up and once she managed to do that she finally saw the sight of something which left her shocked and somewhat scared... That was the first time she felt an emotion like fear towards her son.
His eyes were glowing a reddish colour, It stared right in to the women's dark brown eyes, the brightness of those flashing eyes affecting the women's eye sight itself.
"J-jeongin.."
Her voice started breaking as she removed her hands away, Jeongin's noticed the fear flashing inside her eyes making him question.
"Why do you look scared...?"
She didn't say anything but tighten her hands in to fists while her wide eyes stared at jeongin. Soon jeongin was realising the situation making him feel something.
"Are you scared of me..?"
He asked, without knowing tears were welling up inside his eyes. Mrs. Yang didnt knew how to respond to that question.. so she stayed quite not even moving a single muscle.. At that same time jeongin felt the familiar feeling he felt a while ago, The feeling of something shooting through his body, The feelings of his body getting abnormally hot.. He felt dizzy, Everything was getting blurry, even his breath were getting unsteady leaving him breathless.. The boy started coughing harshly, Struggling to catch air.
The fear were soon washed off by worry once again inside mrs. Yang's eyes. Before she could spit out a word there was a loud banging on the door and seeing her kid turning red and coughing so hard made her cry out for help, Getting up to quickly unlock the door and pull whoever was outside the door inside to get the boy to hospital.
She pulled the door open not even caring to have a glance upon the man's face, she pulled him inside by holding on to his arm.
"Please help my child!"
She kept chanting that same sentence over and over again as she burst in to tears. For the surprise the man was quick enough to rush towards jeongin. The tears were blocking her vision so all she could see was the man's figure pulling jeongin in to his chest and after a while she saw him ceasing his struggle to breathe. Now calmly resting on male's lap with closed eyes.
"Is he okay??"
She asked as she rushed towards her kid and the unknown man. The man looked up at her as he respond.
"He is fine, I am glad i could get here before anything worse could happen.."
At that Mrs. Yang was left confused. For the first time she started to wonder who this man was and why did he sounded like he knew what was going on and as those thoughts fogged up her mind the only words she could choke out was..
"W-who are you?"
The male stared in to her eyes for a moment before slowly moving his lips to spit out.
"Ian, Someone who is somewhat the reason for your child's condition right now.."
And that was how Ian approached jeongin's life, Turning the boy's whole life in to something completely different..
Literally turning an ordinary boy in to the complete opposite.
To be continued~
Happy new year bitchessss!! And yahass i wasn't dead👍
