05:41, 13 October 2024"Here you go." Nicole said as she handed the girl a pillow. Jules sat on the couch. "I'm sorry, my guest room is filled with boxes right now."
Jules shook her head. "It's okay. Thanks for this Nicole."
She grabbed the pillow and placed it on the couch where she was sleeping for the night. Jules had stopped crying but her face was still puffy, and the girl was drained. Nicole sat down next to Jules and pushed her hair from the girl's face.
"What happened?" Nicole asked and Jules shook her head. Nicole sighed and tilted her head. "Julie, I've always been there for you and I just want to help but to do that I need to know what happened."
Jules sighed and started talking, she started at the beginning. She started at the beginning, about how she saw the dojo and how her mother told her not to go. Jules started tearing up as she talked about joining and Miguel, she was reminded of what happened at the Halloween dance. Nicole pulled the girl closer as she continued talking, Jules then talked about Robby and everything that happened, and then finally to the fight.
Nicole just listened to Jules as she poured out everything. She ran her hand through the teen's hair until finally Jules stopped and held onto Nicole's arm as tears poured out of her eyes.
"Oh you poor girl. It seems like you've had a rough year." Nicole wiped away Julie's tears away
Jules tried to get her emotions under control. "Why doesn't she care about me."
Nicole turned the girl so that she was facing her. The woman took Jules's face in her hands and started talking. "Your mother does care about I promise you. She's just stubborn, and trust me I know how stubborn your mother is. Listen to me, I know she'll come tomorrow, I know it."
"You really think so?" Jules sniffled and Nicole nodded. "I heard many stories of your mother's childhood. One I remember was how your grandma never went to her karate tournaments, she won't do that to you. Now get some rest, you had a long day and have a long day tomorrow."
"Thanks Nicole." Jules said as she pulled the covers over herself. Nicole nodded and turned off the light as she walked down the hall and into her room
Jules snuggled into her pillow and let out a sigh. She stared up at the ceiling and wondered if what Nicole said was true, the girl wondered if her mother would actually come tomorrow. If Victoria came, Jules realized that it probably wouldn't be for her. Her heart hung in her chest until she realized that Nicole would be there, Jules didn't have a doubt that her aunt wouldn't come. The woman had always been there for her since she was little.
Whenever she was young and her parents (before the divorce) went out, Jules was shipped off to Nicole who took her role as Godmother very seriously. Jules found that those were the best times of her life, and she would give anything to go back to those moments. Those thoughts calmed her down as she slowly drifted off to sleep.

The group of Cobra Kai stood in front of the tournament. Aisha and Hawk talked as Miguel stood by them, staring in front of him as he practiced. His two friends looked concerned for Miguel as they talked, Jules walked up to them. Her good feelings had been washed away from the dream she had about Robby and her mother. They even seemed to taunt her when Jules thought she was safe. She didn't want her mother here, she didn't want to have to see the woman's face. Jules wanted to get this over with and then go home.
"Hey guys." Jules said catching their attention
Aisha and Hawk turned, the both smiled at the girl. Aisha answered first. "Hey Jules, ready for today?"
Hawk spoke louder and over Aisha. "There she is, the Queen Cobra and I'm sure she's ready to kick some ass."
Jules gave him a small smile as her face dropped again and watched Miguel. Hawk turned and called to the boy. "Yo, Miguel, calm down man. Save some for the tournament."
Miguel stopped for a second and glared over at Hawk before continuing. Hawk rolled his eyes and looked back at the two girls but mostly at Jules.
"He's been doing this since he arrived. I think he's gone crazy." Hawk said
Jules shook her head but didn't say anything. She knew why he was like this and she wanted to join him, practicing usually helped her clear her mind but Jules was sure she couldn't forget what happened the last two days.
Aisha answered. "Don't even bother. He's been super aggro ever since the breakup."
They stood around for a couple more minutes before Jules got antsy. "Where's Sensei?" She asked confused as she looked down at her watch. "The tournament's gonna start soon."
"He'll be here." Aisha patted Jules's shoulder as Bert clicked his tongue. The three teens looked at him as Bert told them. "I don't know about that"
"What are you talking about?" Jules asked confused
Bert continued. "I saw him last night at the mini-mall. I was buying a carton of milk when I heard him in the parking lot, yelling."
They all stared at Bert with wide eyes. Now he was telling them? Their Sensei could be at home with a hole in his head and they're standing out here? Her mother was the least of Jules's problems right now.
"Why didn't you tell us this earlier!" Aisha yelled out
Bert shrugged. "I don't know. I guess I'm used to seeing him drunk, it didn't seem like that big a deal."
"Well, we're here and he's not. So it's officially a big deal. What if something happened to him?" Hawk hissed out
"Like what?"
"Like he drove his car off a cliff or bought a gun and blew his brains out."
Aisha shook her head at Hawk's words. "No. Sensei would never kill himself. That's too pussy of a move."
Jules shook her head and stopped the two. "Whatever. We're gonna have to do it without him."
Just then a voice called behind the teens. Jules's eyes furrowed as the voice was familiar. "Do what without me?"
Her eyes lit up and they quickly turned around to see their Sensei standing there. Johnny walked up to the group.
"We didn't think you were gonna show up." Hawk said and Johnny sighed. "I may not always win, but I never back out of a fight."
Miguel was getting annoyed with standing outside. "All right. Let's sign up."
Johnny shook his heads. "Not yet. There's one more lesson I have to teach you."
Once they were standing inside, Johnny pulled them into a circle. Jules, Miguel, Hawk, and Aisha all stood next to each other as they looked at Johnny who stood in the middle of the circle.
He started pacing as he told his students. "You've all learned to strike first, to be aggressive, not be losers. I taught you to strike hard, put every ounce of your power behind everything you do. But I haven't taught you the third rule of Cobra Kai, 'No Mercy'" he stopped for a second as he stared at the four kids. "The older you get, the more you're gonna learn that life isn't fair. You wake up one morning feeling great, and then life throws a spinning heel kick to your balls, takes a big steaming shit in your mouth."
Jules clenched her jaw at Johnny's words. Her hands tightened into fists.
Johnny wasn't done as he continued to proclaim. "You get an 'F' on a test, you get suspended. You fall in love with a girl and some other dude comes and steals her away, car gets set of fire, someone who you've trusted turns out to not be who you thought they were. Just when you think things are going good, everything falls apart. That's how it goes. Life shows no mercy, so neither do we. We do whatever it takes to keep our heads above water! We do whatever it takes to keep moving forward! We do whatever it takes to win! Remember who you are, you're badass! You don't give a shit! You kick ass! You're Cobra Kai."
Jules smiled as she looked over at Miguel, he smiled before yelling out. "Cobra Kai."
Everyone else's chimed in with a booming "yeah!"
Johnny couldn't help but smile at his students, he had learned as much from them as they had from him. He finished, "all right, guys. Let's get down there and kick the shit out of everybody!"
Jules and Miguel pulled their backpacks off and started pulling out their Gi's. Johnny's eyebrows furrowed as he saw the white ones.
"No." The man shook his head. "You're not wearing those."
He smiled at Jules and Miguel, who then smiled back at him. They were excited for what Johnny had in store.

Victoria trudged in after Daniel, Amanda had pulled both of them to the karate tournament but Victoria was still fighting with herself. She wouldn't stand for Cobra Kai, but what happeneds when your daughter joins your enemy's karate dojo. She should be excited, it was the 50th anniversary but Victoria felt like a zombie.
She looked as they walked in, Daniel was stopped by the karate council. Victoria smiled as they gushed about Daniel, giving some mention about Victoria but nothing really big. The woman sighed, she should've been bigger than this, come on! Victoria was the first female competitor in the history of the All Valley Tournament. As the passed by the group, Daniel's eyes landed on a banner with his younger self and he was immediately transported back to the old days.
Sam tapped on Victoria's shoulder. "Aunt Victoria?" She asked and the woman looked at the teen. "Isn't that you?"
Victoria followed the girl's finger and looked to see the banner next to Daniel's, a smile crossed her face as she saw her younger self. Of course she looked absolutely terrified in the photo but underneath it read "First Female All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament Competitor."
Victoria nodded almost tearing up. "Yeah, that was me."
Slowly the group makes their way into the tournament part and takes a seat on one of the benches. As they walk through the growing crowd, Victoria swears she sees Nicole over talking with someone but as she looks over once again Nicole is gone. They take their seats as the announcer starts doing the announcements.
"Welcome, everyone, to the 50th annual All Valley Under 18 Karate Championship!" Everyone cheered as the announcer yelled out. He continued talking as Victoria looked around for her daughter
Amanda nudged her and Victoria started clapping with everyone else. "All right, let's start by welcoming all the local dojos competing today."
He started listing off the dojos, people cheered for the one that their kid was apart of. Jules stood with the rest of the Cobra Kai's as she shook out her jitters.
"From Reseda, returning to the tournament, we have-" the announcer was cut off as a group entered chanting
The kids were in a line, Miguel was in front, followed by Jules, and then everyone else chanting over and over again as they entered. "Cobra Kai!Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai!"
They snaked around before stopping in their spots, Daniel and Victoria's bodies tensed up at the name. Victoria's eyes scanned the line and then found her daughter as they faced forward, Jules saw her mother out of the corner of her eyes but just ignored the woman.
Amanda nudged Victoria again. "You're not going to clap for your daughter?"
Victoria nodded and started clapping before she heard a loud whooping and cheering, as a woman called out for Jules. The woman searched for the person and found Nicole, so she wasn't going crazy.
"That's what I call an entrance and a badass name for a dojo! Let's hear it for Cobra Kai!" The announcer yelled out Victoria felt sick
Jules smiled at the announcer's words, she felt like a badass especially in these Gi's. Then something strange happened, the announcer called out one final person. "And finally, fighting unaffiliated from North Hills, we have Mr. Robby Keene."
Jules didn't register the name at first but as Robby walked out onto the mat, her stomach churned and she felt the anger boil up inside her.
"I didn't know he was fighting?" Amanda turned to her husband and Victoria as they shook their heads. "Neither did I."
It felt like history was repeating itself, except this time things were flip and Victoria was in Mr. Miyagi's spot.
