18:20, 16 September 2024It took so much time and makeup to cover up the bruise. Jules didn't want to worry anyone and if her mother knew she was getting into fights, everything that Jules had been trying to hide would come crashing down. It didn't matter that much because her mother wasn't even in the house for most of the day, Jules lounged around the house waiting for 8 but it seemed like it couldn't come fast enough.
Every time she looked at the clock, it had barely been a minute. She still had forever until 8, finally her boredom was broken as she heard the doorbell ring.
"Coming!" The girl called and rolled off of the couch, Jules slowly walked up to the door and d pulled it open just a bit to see who was outside
She was expecting to see some salesperson or solicitors but Jules opened the door more, a smile covered her face as she saw Nicole standing at the door.
"Nicole, what are you doing here?" Jules asked and Nicole just smiled. "You up for a girl's day?"
"Let's go!" Jules said as she stepped out of her house.
Nicole smiled at her niece, the two girls turned around and started walking down the path toward where Nicole's parked car was. Jules rushed to the passenger side, Nicole just laughed at the girl. She loved how excited the girl was, it reminded Nicole of Victoria in college. She was so excited to see everything.
"What are we going to do?" Jules asked her aunt as Nicole got into the car
The woman shrugged. "Anything you want to do." Jules asked back. "Anything?"
The woman nodded and Jules had an idea. She trusted no one more than Nicole, the woman had always been there for her ever since she was born.
"Could you help me out with something?" Jules questioned Nicole
The woman's eyebrows furrowed as she looked over at Jules for a second. "Anything."
Jules fidgeted with her hands before opening her mouth. She didn't know how to tell Nicole, even though all she had to tell her was that she was going on a date.
"So um, there's this boy that I really like and we're going on a date tonight." Jules said slowly and awkwardly
Jules couldn't see her aunts expression from behind her glasses. Nicole was freaking out inside, she was so happy that Jules was finally getting out of her shell. She cocked her eyebrow from behind her sunglasses.
"And what do you need my help with? An outfit? What to do?" Nicole asked emphasizing some of the words and the girl just shrugged. "With all of it."
"Well give me some information about this guy. What does he like, where are you going?" Nicole wanted to know more about this mystery boy that her niece was seeing
Jules giggled as she thought about Robby. She didn't know where to start, there were so many things she could tell Nicole. He was kind, and sweet as well as handsome, Jules just found everything about him amazing. Especially after what he did last night, she remembered it all. How he rushed over to save her, or how he pushed her behind him to keep her out of the fight.
Nicole just laughed seeing Jules blush. "I can already see how much you like this boy."
The girl finally spoke telling her all about Robby, Nicole listening to everything as they rode in the car. Jules just continued on with her rambling.
"I'd say you two shouldn't go to like a movie or something and I think you should go to an arcade or something. Now let's go get you a cute outfit."

"Bye mom, I'm going out!" Jules yelled as she hurried down the stairs
Her mother looked out from the kitchen, Victoria's eyebrows furrowed as she saw Jules. The girl looked more dressed up than usual and so Victoria quickly walked up to the girl.
"Who you going out with?" Victoria asked and Jules rolled her eyes. "Just a friend."
"Is it Robby?" Julie's eyes went wide and the girl tried to keep calm as she shook her head. Victoria placed her hands on her daughter's shoulder, fixing the girl's shirt. She smiled. "He's a good kid. I really do like him Julie, he's very sweet and is a hard worker. I just want you to be safe okay."
Julie rolled her eyes. "Nothing's gonna happen tonight, okay mom."
Victoria nodded. "Where are you taking him anyways?"
The girl blushed before saying. "An arcade."
Victoria hummed before countering the girl's place. "Take him to Golf N' Stuff. It has a really good arcade and also some other cool things."
Jules smiled at her mom. "Thanks mom."
She quickly turned and hurried up to the door as the two heard the door bell ring. Jules giggled and opened the door, she saw Robby standing outside. He gulped as he saw the girl before smiling.
"Are you ready to go, Julie." He asked and Jules nodded, Robby let out a sigh.Victoria watched as the two walked down the sidewalk
The woman slowly closed the front door as Robby opened up the door and helped Julie into the car. It brought back memories from college, it was the second time she watched her Julie head off on a date and it just got harder.
"Thank you." Julie said as she slid into the seat and watched as Robby walked to the other side of the car
Robby smiled and got into the driver's seat. "Where to?"
The girl just smirked and gave him the directions but didn't tell him where they were going to. Finally the car came to a stop and Robby looked out, his eyebrows furrowed as he saw the sign. He had never been here before.
"Golf N' Stuff?" He asked
Julie nodded and unbuckled her seatbelt. "Come on, this place is great."
The girl jumped out of the car and walked to the front of the car, she turned and motioned for Robby to join her. The boy just laughed and opened up the door, he quickly got out of the car and joined Julie.
"I've never been here." Robby said and Julie scoffed. "Really? It was hot in the 80's or that's what my mom always told me."
She intertwined her hand with his and pulled him forward. Robby quickened his pace as he was pulling by the girl. They golfed outside for a little bit, laughing and playing together. Robby had to help Jules a few times and every time, they ended up bursting out laughing before they headed into the arcade.
"So what's your favorite part about this place?" Robby asked, Julie stood there for a bit as she thought. The girl pointed off at a certain direction.
Robby nodded and they started heading over there. The two teens played a lot of the games, including air hockey, ski ball, basketball and a lot of the other games. Julie was happy that she was with Robby and Robby was having fun with the girl, finally they ended the night on the Ferris Wheel. Jules gasped as it started moving, it went up for a while but finally stopped when they were at the top.
They were looking up at the stars, neither one was talking but they were just enjoying each other's company. Robby was staring over at Julie as she stared up into the sky. She looked absolutely beautiful in the moonlight, and he slowly scooted closer to her. Julie realized and then looked over at Robby.
"I think it's funny that our shitty parents were the ones to bring us together." Julie finally broke the silence
"What do you mean?" Robby tilted his head
"Your dad's an asshole, my mom's an asshole. It's a perfect match." Julie responded breathy as if she was talking about some fairytale. Robby chuckled
"Hm, 'Two dojos, both alike in dignity, in fair San Fernando Valley, where we lay our scene.'" He added and Julie nudged him a bit.
Julie hadn't felt like this in a long time. She felt like she could be herself around Robby, Julie never allowed anyone to call her Julie, it was reserved for her family and people she was close to but she loved how Robby said her name. Robby just sat there, he wanted to kiss her or something but he was scared. He really liked Julie but didn't want to ruin it by going too fast.
"What's your mother like? You don't talk a lot about her." Julie changed the subject, she wanted to know more about Robby
Robby shook his head, answering almost immediately. "There really isn't much to say, she leaves a lot to go out do drugs and meet men. What about your dad?"
The girl thought for a bit, she gulped and Robby opened and closed his mouth. He didn't mean to bring up anything like that, his mind raced and he cussed himself out.
"I didn't mean to ask. I'm sorry." He quickly apologized but Julie just shrugged.
She answered and calmed down Robby's nerves at the same time. "I never really got to know him, he left when I was 5. He was always off on some business trip or 'deep in work' which I think is a weird name for a lady." The girl said and laughed, Robby shook his head and asked "really?"
The girl nodded and shrugged again. "It's whatever. I'm pretty sure the only thing he was there for was my birth. My mom said he was the worst birthing parent ever."
"You're lucky, mine wasn't even there." Robby shot back
"You trying to one up me Karate Kid?"
"I would never."
Julie looks up at the sky and gasps, it was so beautiful. The moon hung high in the sky and the stars twinkled like lights.
"A sky full of stars and I'd still watch you." Robby said as he stared at Julie. He truly meant that, the world could be ending and all Robby would see was Julie
"Pick up lines don't work on me Robby." The girl said looking over at him. She smiled and rested her elbows on her knees but sat up as Robby talked
"Then will this?" He asked, putting his hand on her cheek. Julie's eyes fluttered close as Robby leaned over to her pressed a kiss against her lips
Julie's heart raced as she kissed him back. Her skin was tingling and everything was muffled, Julie never wanted to pull away but finally Robby was the one to break the kiss. Julie panted as she pulled away, he had taken her breath away. The girl blushed as she looked at his face and dug her face into his shoulder. Robby ran his hand over his lips and chuckled as he saw the sparkly lipgloss that Julie had on.
The girl pulled from Robby's shoulder and took a breath. "The women in my family are cursed, both my mom and grandma ended up with men who didn't take responsibility and left. Are you gonna leave me Robby?"
Robby tiled his head. "Only if you promise not to get addicted to drugs."
Julie looked down and saw his hand out with his pinky sticking out. Julie nodded and wrapped her pinky around his.
"I promise." She answered and rested her head on Robby's shoulder. The girl squealed as the Ferris Wheel started moving again, Robby laughed and wrapped his arm around her
This night had been the best night ever, Julie felt like the world was finally working for her. She had an amazing Sensei, some really great friends, and now she was on a date with the guy she had a crush on. It was all falling into place now.
