Chapter 4- Part 2

Jasmine

How do I answer that! I need to think. "Umm, w-what's my s-story?" Great, I'm stuttering.

"Yeah, I mean, if you have one, I mean, oh god, I'm rambling!" Liam says while blushing. I laugh. "Anyways, continue." Great, he is giving me the floor.

"Umm, w-well I'm here with my parents and my sister, we are taking this nice long vacation." I hope he buys it. Fingers crossed!

"BS! I heard Sky call you 'mommy!' multiple times! If she is your daughter, that's great. I mean she looks just like you!" Liam says and I let out a breath that I have been holding for awhile. Now here comes the hard part.

"Well, she is my daughter and I left home to find our own place." I hope he buys this one.

"Oh really? Where do your parents live?" Liam is very curious! Glad he bought my story so far!

"Uh, Florida" God, I'm freaking out!

"Oh wow, that's cool!" Liam said. " Why did you leave?" Is he always this nosy, oh wait we are friends now.

"Oh, I felt like it w-was time t-to leave the nest with Sky." I really need to stop stuttering!

"Oh, okay! Well love, I'm here if you need anything. Here's my number," he goes to grab my phone and my sleeve on my shirt goes up, revealing bruises made by Dimitri. I cringe. Oh no! I think he sees them! He just sits there looking at my bruises as if he is frozen. I start to panic. "What the hell is going on Jasmine!" He yells. I flinch as I feel like he may hit me.

"Please don't swear, there's a child in the other room," I say quietly.

"Okay, sorry," Liam says softly. I relax a little. "What's happening? It feels like you're running away from more."

"I-I'm sorry, I-I should probably get Sky to bed." I say while getting up and pulling my sleeve back down.

"Wait. Can I see?" Liam asks while pointing to my other arm. I nod slightly. As he rolls up my sleeve he touches my skin, and I get goosebumps. "Oh my god, who did this to you?" Liam asks quietly.

"Umm, no one I'm very clumsy, I fall over a lot!" I say to try to ease the tension.

"Bull crap. Someone did this, who?" Liam asks still examining my arm. I flinch when he touches a bruise.

"I really don't wanna talk about it." I say. My eyes are tearing up and I stiffen up.

"Please Jasmine, you need to tell me," Liam says softly while looking into my eyes. I nearly melt while staring at his warm brown eyes. "You aren't running from your parents home, are you?" He asks quietly.

"...No.. I'm not," I say quietly as tears stream down my face. He reaches up and I flinch a little but he gently wipes my tears away with his thumb.

"Hey, it's gonna be okay, I'm here for ya," Liam says while hugging me. And thats when I break. I start crying into his chest and he just holds me. This is so embarrassing, but it feels so good.

"I sorry, I'm getting your shirt all wet." I say while trying to stop crying.

"That's the least of my worries," Liam says chuckling. Ahh, he is so cute when he chuckles. Wait, what am I saying? What am I saying! Think Jasmine, do you like Liam? No! well, maybe... yes! I do. I like Liam! Oh my. I lift my head up and ingulf in his cologne. Mhmmm, he smells good. I open my eyes. He wipes my tears off my cheeks with his thumbs. We both look into each others eyes. I start to lean in, so does he. We get so close that our noses are touching. My heart is pounding out of my chest! Ahhh I'm about to kiss Liam! I start to close my eyes. I hear a door open and I move as fast as possible to move away from Liam.

"Mommy, the movie's over. I'm tired." Sky says while rubbing her eyes. I look at the time and it says 10:37 pm. My eyes go wide, oh my! Its way past her bedtime.

"Let's go back to our room," I say to her. I pick her up and set her on my hip. She lays her head on my shoulder. "See ya later," I say to Liam.

"Wait, here's your phone I put my number in and texted my phone to have yours." He smiles at me. He leans in and kisses my cheek. "Goodnight Jasmine." My cheek tingles a little.

"Goodnight Liam." I say while smiling. And thats when I realize not all guys abuse girls.

Liam

I can't believe that we almost kissed! We were so close, I just, ahhhh! I almost had it. What's great is now I don't feel so alone here. I feel so bubbly inside. I felt so good to hold her. I can't stop thinking about her.

But, who would hurt her? Her dad? Maybe she is running away from her parents house because be abuses her. But, she has a kid. So maybe a boyfriend. I cringe when I think about it. Just thinking of her getting hit and kicked by some guy makes me mad.

*beep beep*

I read who the text is from and smile. Jasmine.

Hey thanks for everything. I'm glad I have you in my life :) anyways I want to apologize for getting your shirt wet. But yeah :) thanks again. Bye Bye

I decided to do a heart back. I am smiling so much right now. Gosh, what is she turning me into.

*knock knock*

I am pulled out of my trace of thought. Who could be a the door. I smile. Jasmine. I run to the door. Quickly check my hair and open the door with a smile on my face. It is Jasmine. "Hey love!"

"Hey!" she says happily. I motion her to come in. We go straight to the couch. I sit down and she sits next to me. I put my arm around her and she rests her head on my shoulder. I smile. I hope this moment never ends. "I should probably tell you why I'm really here." What she said shocked me. But, after seeing her bruises, I knew that her other story wasn't true.

"You don't have to if you don't feel like it," I say softly. I feel like she is really fragile, when she really is strong (metaphorically speaking).

"No, I want to. Plus, I feel safe with you." She says. I turn to look at her and realize it's true, she looks like she is safe.

"Okay, go ahead, take as long as you need." I tell her.

"Well, its a very long story and Skylar is in my room alone." She tells me.

"Well how bout we go sit outside of your room, then you can tell me." I suggest.

"Okay," She says with a smile. So we go sit by her room and she takes a big breath. "My boyfriend, well ex now, and I were dating in high school. This where all of it starts." I nod to her to continue. She clears her throat and tells me everything. When she finished, I realizes that I had my fists clenched and I had shed a few tears. I mean of course I would cry. I really like, maybe love Jasmine, and hearing a guy beat the shit out of her makes me angry and sad that she was never protected. I finally decide to speak up.

"Do your parents know about this?" I croak out.

"No, they stopped talking to me when they found out I was pregnant at 17," she says. "They have never called or tried to get in contact with me." This is so sad. I hug her for awhile. When we loosen up she looks up at me. She looks into my eyes, then my lips. She bites her bottom lip. Oh god, thats adorable! I lean in towards her, she does too. Are noses touch.

"Jasmine..." I start, I can't think when I'm this close to her.

"Just kiss me you fool," she whispers while smirking. And thats when I lean in and kiss her. Right as my lips touched hers, I felt fireworks going off. I smile as we continue. We start to deepen the kiss. This is amazing! I start to smile again. She pulls away slowly.

"Why did you pull away?" I asked her confused. She smiles.

"Because I wanted to see your smile. I love your smile." She says while blushing.

"I love it when you blush," I accidentally say out loud. She giggles. Ah, she is so gorgeous.

Ahhhh!!!!!!! Favorite part :) at the end!!! They finally kiss! I know it may seem early, but they got to know each other earlier, I just didn't want to have to do a fill in chapter of them talking in his room. but yeah :) ahh! anyways what do you guys think?
