I slam the door open, files in hand. Chief Shin Dong stares at me puzzled.

"What's this entrance you dare perform?" He asks calmly but sternly.

"I apologize, but I have to talk to you." I say as firm.

"Yes, I reckon." He says signaling me to sit. "Byung Do-ssi called, telling me to get you off the case completely."

"I understand." I sigh in annoyance.

"But seeing you are here, and knowing you, Detective, I dare suppose you are not giving up?" He smiles faintly.

I chuckle, he really does know me so well. I've always seen Chief Shin Dong as an older brother.

"Yes. I wanted to apologize, Chief." I look down ashamed. "I must admit...I doubted myself for some time, my morality and my thoughts were..." I remember the moments he and I spent together, that special night. "...manipulated."

"Min Young-ah," Chief Shin Dong stands up and leans on his desk. He drops all formalities. "Listen, as a man who has known you for more than 6 years, I worry about you. Right now, I'm talking to you not as Shin Dong Hee Chief of S.J Offices, but as Shin Dong Hee the friend who sees you as his younger sister." He smiles.

"Shin Dong-oppa..." I dare say.

"I noticed it too, you know?" He sighs. "Your feelings towards that man, they are not normal considering your identities."

I clear my throat.

"I--I admit we had an...unappropriate relationship, but I assure you, I--"

"You realized who he really is?" Shin Dong says glancing at the files on my hand. "Min Young-ah, I need you to think, not as the Detective/Lawyer, but as Man Min Young, and answer this for me: Do you love this man?"

I flinch at his question.

I've been asking myself this for a time now. But then again, Lee Hyuk Jae...he is a criminal with a freaking killing spree of 32 people.

"No." I reply shortly. "I finally understand, Chief. The kind of man Lee Hyuk Jae is, what he is capable of, I realized it all. That's why I came back here." I stand up. "I want to get his case back, with no distractions and...temptations. I am confident I will not fall anymore, I know now, Chief, just exactly what kind of man he is."

Shin Dong smiles faintly.

"Min Young-ssi," he says "the case is not ours anymore. But I'm not going to tell you to leave it cause I know you won't. However...think of it, please. Lee Hyuk Jae...I know how you feel, he's not exactly--ah, never mind." He clears his throat uncomfortably. "But before you dare do anything dangerous or that you might later regret, ask yourself again, and think about it this time: Do you love this man? Man...not hitman, criminal, murderer. Ask yourself, and be careful."

"Chief, I already--"

"Don't try to avoid it, Detective. I know that look in your eyes too well, when you talk about him. It's the same as that of 5 years ago, only this time, it's...deeper." He sighs.

"I don't understand." I reply.

Shin Dong looks at me in the eyes seriously. He sighs and furrows his brows in worry.

"The look of a woman in love."
