23:50, 3 November 2023Aru loved feeling the wind in her hair. It reminded of her when she was little, very little, still needing a tiny bit of a push from her mom from the swings.
Now, she was soaring. That made her happy.
Aiden, who was watching her with no reaction did not make her very happy.
"Get on the swing!" Aru yelled at him. It looked like he was very bored, and they literally only got out of the house because Aru thought he was bored. Also for her own enjoyment.
"No," Aiden said. Then he shoved his hands in his pocket.
Currently, Aru thought it looked weird to see Aiden just sulking and you couldn't even see his face properly so it looked more like a dude shuffling across the woodchips.
"If you get higher than this height quicker than me, I'll free you!" Aru yelled out. It was risky of course, she had the risks of being demolished by her "team", but Aru was pretty sure Aiden had absolute no idea how to enjoy a swing. Therefore, not practicing. And that meant that Aru was probably going to win because she had 16 years of practice. Her first try was a fail at the swing, but no one needs to know that.
Aru jumped off the swing and watched Aiden nod. "Sure."
Aru clapped her hands. "Ok, let's do this!"
However, Aiden could not do it. His legs were hopelessly too long and his shoes would fly off when it skidded the ground. Aiden gave up after a few tries. Aru was way too busy laughing than actually helping him get his shoes.
Aiden rolled his eyes and walked over to a bench to sit on it.
"What? Your tired already?" Aru asked, trying to get him to move.
"Well, I guess not," Aiden answered. Then he stood up and checked his stupid watch that he probably had not been able to check for a long time. "Wait, I've been in there for 9 months?!"
Aru shrugged. "Don't know. I'm no longer in school. That means I no writing the dates on your homework!"
"But you won't know when's your birthday," Aiden said. "You'll just wake up and think it's a regular day and do whatever it is your doing everyday."
"My sister reminds me," Aru answered, walking over on a slide to climb on it which only took her three steps because it was so tiny.
"You have a sister?" Aiden asked her.
"Well, duh," Aru said. Why wouldn't she have a sister. She need a sister to practice her pranks, and pull her mischeivous level up to a whole new system. Without a sister, Aru would've been extra bland instead of her normal saltiness.
"Oh, cool," was all Aiden said before checking his watch again.
Aru frowned then walked over and stood next to him. "The sky looks pretty."
She was trying to work up on some small talk but when she actually looked at the sky, she was exactly wrong.
The sun was half showing, getting ready to set, creating a yellow halo around it. The blue on the rest of the sky was a dark and mishevious color, sprinkled with stars. The clouds seemed to illuminate it by gathering around the sun, but not exactly covering it either. All the storm clouds seemed to pass on and you could see them in a far distance.
"Yeah. At these moments I wish I had my camera," Aiden said, looking up with her, pulling his shades down a bit so he could see it clearly.
Aru just shrugged and took out her phone. It was a ratty old and cheap one because she couldn't exactly promise that she wouldn't break an expensive phone. Aru snapped a picture of it.
"That phone has such a poor resolution," Aiden said in disgust.
Aru rolled her eyes because she did not understand what he said. "Selfie?"
"No," Aiden said. "I don't do selfies."
Aru shrugged her shoulders and took her own selfie. Then she quickly turned her camera to try and capture Aiden watching her with the background. However, Aiden was quicker than her thumb trying to press button. The picture ended up with Aiden as a blur and the background, disturbed with a silhouette of a bird.
Aru frowned.
"If you want a better picture, you could just give me the phone," Aiden suggested, holding out a hand.
Aru slapped his hand in return and attempted a selfie but it turns out Aiden knew how to avoid getting caught up in a selfie and it looked like he had experience in escaping photos.
Aru sighed. "You are so frustrating!"
Aiden blinked with those pretty eyes of his, trying to look innocent. "Who, me?"
Aru raised her hand to snap a picture but Aiden snatched it from her hands.
"Hey!" Aru said.
"Anger brings out the best look in you," Aiden said, changing some camera settings.
"What?" Aru asked. "That is so off topic." Then she leaped to take the phone away but Aiden pulled away.
"Give it back!" Aru yelled, but at that moment, Aiden took a picture of her.
"See?" Aiden said, showing her the photo.
Aru just stared at her hair in a braid, all out of the place, her eyes blazing, and her nose as big as ever.
Other than that, her features all came along together to form a somewhat decent photo.
Then Aru took her phone, did a small hiss at Aiden, and skipped back to the swings.
By the way guys, it's 'hiss', not 'kiss'. Y'all are probably disappointed so I'll appologize. Anyways, have a great day! - Winter
