Chapter 1: Kono-san has a crush on Ishikawa?

"What was the great idea to do this community task in this flaming afternoon?" I said as we both tried our best to head back to the council room.

"I thought it would be good if we just finish this task that keeps bugging us man...I didn't take the heat into account" he barely spoke.

"Dude...Let's wish we both get back in one piece" I said as I tried to gather more enthusiasm to get back to the council room.

"STOP!!"

"HUH!?" we both spoke at the same time.

Turns out Ishikawa-Kun and Miyamura Kun just wanted to offer us some ice cream.

"Thanks for this...we were about to die" I take taking a bite out of this melon flavoured ice cream.

"Thats good that we found you guys then" Miyamura chuckled.

"I just want to get back to the student council room" Sengoku kun added.

"It must be nice having ac room for the student council for these hot days" Ishikawa said.

"They have AC?!" Miyamura asked.

"I totally forgot ABOUT THAT, Hey prez we should immediately get back!" I proposed.

"If you guys want, you can join us" Sengoku offered to Miyamura and Ishikawa.

"Can we really?" they asked as their eyes sparkled.

"Yeah, it will be nice to have more friends over in that room" I smiled.

[Time Skip]

"We'll be right back!!" Miyamura and Hori-san said as they head out to get drinks.'

.....They brought friends along with them. Not that we mind, it's nice seeing the room filled with people just having fun.

The laughs and chuckles going throughout the room just filled in a rather serious and reserved room? Usually I'm the one making people laugh and breaking the tension around here but today I was relaxed....

I felt a rather serious discussion going down in the group in front of me.

"He just gave up on hori" Yuki san said.

Ishikawa just bubbled up hiding his face under his arms placing them on the desk.

I saw Kouno-san asking prez something, but I just decided to leave it there.

As the two finished their talking I saw her looking at Ishikawa-kun as curiosity boomed in her green eyes. 

"We're back" came a voice as the door slid open.

They handed us the cola that we ordered, "Thank you" I replied taking my can from Hori.

I looked to my right and saw Miyamura mumbling something to Ishikawa.

"I'm really sorry to do this to you Ishikawa kun"

"STOP!! I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT!!!" he said as he ran towards the window covering his ears.

"What happened?" Remi asked.

"Well Miyamura was holding Toru drink when it fell...." Hori-san started.

"Yoshikawa...." Ishikawa said.

"Hmm?" she answered.

"You got bunch of pens right? can you stab me with one?" he continued.

"ALL THIS FOR A SODA!??!" she exclaimed

"Huh? Soda?" he said opening the can as the soda shot out of it hitting his face.

"Miyamura dropped your soda on the floor" Kono san said going upto him as she put her hand in the pocket of her skirt.

"Huh? I got anxious for nothing...." Ishikawa sighed.

"Here..." she offered him an paper napkin.

"Oh! thank you" Ishikawa replied.

I...I'll be honest with myself here. I'm quite affectionate for Kono san...that's the reason I tried hard to join the student council. Being in 3-F the same class as her is a great advantage for me but I never made any moves. I am just a good friend to her...well...yeah. 

I guess I'm overthinking this, maybe she doesn't have a crush on Ishikawa-kun? Yeah, probably. 

"Tanji-kun" I heard Sengoku Kun's voice as it broke me out of my trance.

"Ye-yeah?" I looked over at him.

"You okay?" he asked seeing me lost for a moment there.

"Yeah totally! don't worry I was just thinking something haha" I laughed.

"Hmm" she sighed.

[Time skip]

"Tanji-kun can you please put these books back in the council room?" Prez asked me.

"Sure, you two can go on home" I smiled looking at him and Remi-san.

"Thanks a lot Tanji-kun" Remi-san replied as the two started walking away.

I just picked up the bundle of the book and headed back in the council room. 

Does Kono-san really have a crush on Ishikawa-kun?

A thought hit my mind again

Can we just stop...stop overthinking this? PLEASE I BEG MYSELF PLEASE, LET'S STOP THINKING THIS. 

Till the time I was able to convince myself to calm down, I had already reached the council room.

I used my leg to slide open the door as I looked over the books to see Kono-san still sitting there and doing her work.

"You know it's kinda late" I smiled heading in the room.

"Oh, Tanji-kun...I was just finishing some paperwork. I really don't wanna keep them for tomorrow" she smiled back.

"Paperwork huh?" I said as I kept the books on the table and took a look at the paperwork she's been stamping and correcting. 

"Are these the survey forms from the underclassmen?" I asked.

"Yeah, they've requested a lot of things It seems" she said with a weak smile looking at the pile of paper to her right.

"Let me help you" I said taking more than half of the papers and the student council stamp.

"You really don't have to Tanji-kun. I can handle this myself" she replied.

She looks tired...How long have she been sitting here doing this?

"It's fine, let's finish this fast" I smiled.

[Time Skip]

"Finally we're done" I said stretching my arms.

"It's all thanks to you, Tanji-kun. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be able to finish all this today" Kono-san smiled.

"It's fine Kono-san, you shouldn't overdo yourself. Let's head out before they lock the gates" I replied.

"Mhm" she nodded in agreement.

We locked the room, thanks to Kono-san having the keys as we headed out of the school.

"You two were still in there?" The security guard asked with confusion on his face.

"We were just finishing council stuff sir" I smiled.

"I see" he replied as he opened the otherwise shut gate, Thank god it didn't get late any further or it would've been a real pain in the ass to get out.

"So where are you heading now?" she asked me as we walked on the sidewalk.

"Hopefully home" I chuckled.

"Why the hopefully?" she asked smiling.

"Just being a pessimist, don't mind me" I smiled.

"How about I treat you to a coffee for the help you did?" she offered smiling.

This smile is...heartwarming...please Kono-san don't....please.

"It's completely fine, there's no need-" I said rejecting the idea before I thought...

I could ask her once for all...if she likes Ishikawa-kun. This gives me some more time with her.

"I insist, please! If it wasn't for you, I would've been still tending to those papers" she added.

"Okay...okay alright" I smiled.

We looked around for a small cafe and certainly found one in almost no time. The lights reflected off the neon signs on the shops along with the street light just illuminated the road like a pathway for heaven.

Do I feel like this whenever I'm with her? or will I feel the same when I'm here without Kono-san?

Opened the door as I allowed her to pass through while I held the door for her, "Thank you" she replied with a slight smile.

As she headed towards the counter, I joined her soon after. Looking at the menu printed above the counter.

"What will you have?"  I heard her voice while looking at the menu.

"I guess I'll go for the Caramel Frappuccino" I replied.

"I'm gonna go for-" she started saying.

"A strawberry milkshake""A strawberry milkshake"

We both said at the same time.

"How'd you?" She got surprised.

"You keep drinking that milkshake in the council room, just figured out you're gonna buy it again" I chuckled.

It was a wild guess...But I guess observing her behavior and getting to know her. I'm surely in love with her...

"Oh, I see" she replied smiling.

[Time Skip]

Instead of sitting in the cafe, we decided to take the cup and head towards the train station, seeing that we're already very late, we can't bother our families anymore.

"Hey ah Kono-san, Do you like Ishikawa kun?" I asked as I took a sip out of my coffee.

"Huh? Ah no-well...." she fumbled with her words as I saw her blushing a bit.

Did she get embarrassed? I guess it's real after all.

"Cm'on you can tell me, it'll be a secret of course" I chuckled.

"I..I...I do" she hesitated but decided to fess up.

"Have you told him that?" I asked.

"I haven't, I couldn't gather enough confidence to do so..." she replied getting a bit sad.

"How about...I help you?" I offered smiling.

"Help with what?" she answered as we came on the corner where we had to cross the streets. The crosswalk had green walk sign lit up indicating that it's safe for us to cross the roads and so we did.

"Help with-" I began saying as a bright white light came near us looking closely it was a motorbike at full speed that was gonna cross us from way too close.

I held Kono-san's hand as I pulled her towards me in an instinct to keep her safe as the motorbike zipped past us.

"These bastards don't know how to drive or something?" I said looking towards the biker.

"Ta-Tanji-kun" I heard Kono-san's voice ever so slightly as I returned to my senses. I had unconsciously pulled her close to me basically bringing her in a hug.

I immediately let go, "Oh, I'm so...sorry" I apologized.

 After walking for a bit, we finally got to the train station as we boarded the Akio Line.

"You're boarding Akio line too?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's the train I use for my commute" she replied.

"But I never saw you, what the hell?" I chuckled.

"You use the same train aswell?" she asked.

"Yeap"

Soon after boarding the train and finding ourselves a seat, which wasn't a hard task at this time of the day as most of the seats were empty.

"So anyway, I was telling do you want me to help you with Ishikawa-kun?" I offered again.

"Help? Ah-well....I....I don't know" she sighed in embarrassment.

"Maybe you can grow closer to him with my help...haha" I chuckled.

"I gu-guess, I can use some of your help again..." she finally answered.

"Alright then, I'll message you the details on line later" I smiled.

[Time Skip]

"I'm back" I said opening the door. 

"Quite late today aren't you?" my big sister incquired.

"Was busy with some council stuff...." I replied as I started to head up to my room.

"You look down" she added.

"Do I?" I replied as I opened my door and headed straight for the bathroom to take a shower.

"Ta-Tanji-kun" I heard Kono-san's voice ever so slightly as I returned to my senses. I had unconsciously pulled her close to me basically bringing her in a hug. Her shampoo's sweet scent and her soft and delicate body...it feels like I'm just....god please don't do this with me.

I'm in love with her smile, her laugh, the way she talks the way she walks...I'm in love with her existence.

But I'm not the one she wants..
