🍓~Strawberries at Midnight~🍓
Today was just another day of patiently waiting for Tsuzuru to finish the new script for the Spring troupe. He was taking longer to to write it than usual and I was beginning to worry. The Spring troupe was anxious to see their new script and I was worried Tsuzuru wouldn't finish it in time.
I sighed and dropped my head into my hands. The second play had to be just as good as the first one. Arguably better.
"Are you alright Miss (Y/N)?" A soft voice questioned. I looked up from the ground and forced a smile.
"I'm alright Sakuya. Just a little worried about Tsuzuru and the script"
"Don't worry. He'll finish it. I know he will" Sakuya clenched his fist looking determined.
"You look pretty today (Y/N)" Masumi appeared behind Sakuya. I rolled my eyes attempting to brush off his usual comments but a blush still managed to dust my cheeks.
"I'm just gonna ignore what you said"
"But your blushing" Masumi smiled and approached me running a finger over one of my cheeks. I swatted his hand away and continued talking to Sakuya.
"Anyway, your right Sakuya. We all need too trust Tsuzuru" I smiled.
"What are you talking about?" Masumi yawned and flopped down onto the couch next to me.
"I'm worried about Tsuzuru and the script" I sighed and leaned back against the couch. "But Sakuya convinced me to trust him. So that's what I'm gonna do" I looked over at Masumi and smiled. He raised and eyebrow and his cheeks turned pink. Masumi looked away breaking eye contact.
"Oh whatever. That idiots fine. He's just having a little bit of writers block. He's been working on the script this whole time. Whenever I go into our room he's on his laptop"
"Good" I smiled and shouldered Masumi. "Thanks for telling me"
"Anything for you" Masumi met eyes with me again regaining his confidence.
Later that evening
After dinner everyone went straight to their rooms. Tsuzuru didn't even come out to dinner. Although Sakuya reminded me to trust him my worry meter was rising. I changed into a t-shirt and shorts for bed and took off all my makeup. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
I looked at myself in the mirror and brought a finger up to touch the bags that were beginning to form under my eyes.
"Bleh" I sighed and turned off the lights proceeding to fling myself on my bed. I spread out like a starfish and gazed at the ceiling. Poor Tsuzuru, he must be tired. I wonder what everyone else from the Spring troupe is thinking.
I know Sakuya is putting his trust in Tsuzuru but I can tell he's worried. Same with Masumi he seems like he's confident Tsuzuru will finish the script but he sleeps in the same room as Tsuzuru so he must see how stressed and tired he is. I wonder if Masumi's asleep now or if Tsuzu is keeping him awake.
I looked back over to my alarm clock to see how long I'd been thinking. It was 12:00 am. So i'd been laying awake in my bed for a couple hours.
I sighed and flipped over on my side to try and fall asleep. I rolled around for awhile then let out an exasperated sigh. This wasn't working. My mind was to busy. Maybe a midnight snack would help me relax?
I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes. I unplugged my phone and checked my notifications. Flipping on my phone's flashlight, I headed out my bedroom door.
It was dark and quiet. If I listened hard enough I could hear soft breathing and some snoring. My feet padded down the stairs to the kitchen entry. I made my way past the breakfast bar and over to the fridge. I quietly opened it and the fridge light consumed the kitchen.
There didn't seem to be anything good in the fridge. Nothing but curry leftovers and some fruit. Would have to make note to head to the grocery store tomorrow. Maybe Masumi could help me carry groceries.
"(Y/N)?" A sleepy voice whispered. I whipped around closing the fridge door loudly.
Masumi was standing a few feet away from me in only sweatpants. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. "What are you doing up so late?"
"I'm sorry did I wake you up?" I whispered and tiptoed towards Masumi.
"Nah. Tsuzuru's typing is keeping me awake. Plus I'm kinda hungry" Masumi rubbed his belly. I giggled and grabbed his bare arm pulling him over to the fridge. I glanced over my shoulder to gage his reaction. He looked surprised at first then he looked down at me in admiration.
I opened the fridge again beginning to look through it. Masumi hovered behind me. This boy was still in high school yet he towered over me. Masumi is the type of guy that can make any girl weak in the knees with one look. I sighed.
"I'm looking for strawberries" I muttered.
"There" Masumi whispered. Pointing his finger at a box of strawberries in the back of the fridge. His bare chest pressed against my back and his breath tickled my ear. I instinctively shivered. "You okay?" He teased. Wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Yes" I said a little to loudly and grabbed the strawberries. I attempted to shove his arms off of me but he squeezed me tighter. His muscles tensed as he lifted me off the ground and tapped the fridge door closed with his toe.
"Masumi! Put me down!" I whisper shouted and kicked my legs around. He let out a husky chuckle. I blushed and went limp giving up. "Come on, I need to cut them" Masumi set me down by the cabinet with a cutting board in it. I whipped it out and before he could grab me again turned around to push him away.
Instead he'd wrapped his arms around my waist whilst I was facing him. My arms were pressed against his toned chest and the counter was against my back. I had nowhere to go. I laughed loudly. Then slapped a hand over my mouth. Masumi smiled. Then sarcastically added.
"Jeez (Y/N) be quiet" He rolled his eyes and backed away allowing me to move again. I quickly cut up a bowl of strawberries.
"Sit down at the counter" I commanded and pointed to a chair.
"Yes ma'am" Masumi raised his hands in defeat and sat down at the counter. I sprinkled some sugar on the strawberries and slid them across the counter to him. Masumi popped one in his mouth and licked his lips going for another.
"Hey don't eat all of them" I giggled and looped around the counter to sit by Masumi.
"(Y/N) you don't have to take care of us like this" Masumi looked up from the bowl a serious look on his face.
"I mean..I don't mind" I shrugged and reached for a strawberry. "You guys mean a lot to me" I blushed and ate the strawberry. Masumi beamed.
"Honestly..." He picked at a strawberry from the bowl. "I wasn't awake because of Tsuzuru's typing. I was awake because I couldn't stop thinking of what we would do without you"
"Me?" I was surprised at his statement. "Oh come on, I haven't done that much. You have yourself and everyone in your troupe to thank." I brushed off his comment.
"(Y/N) you hold us together. Ask anyone else in The Mankai Company." I blushed.
"I guess"
"I mean your the one who saved The Mankai Company" He punched my shoulder. "And you recruited me from the street. You inspired me to act"
I sighed. "Too many compliments" My face was as red as the strawberries in our bowl. I leaned closer to Masumi to get a strawberry from the bowl. Before I grabbed one I turned my head towards him. "But thanks"
We were only inches apart. I glanced down at the mole on the left side of his lips. Subconsciously I reached out my hand and pressed my index finger against it. He raised an eyebrow and chuckled. A glimmer of light from the moon hit his face perfectly and made his violet eyes sparkle. I let out a breathy sigh. He looked stunning.
Masumi pushed a stray hair behind my ear. "You look really pretty right now"
"Hmm?" I bit my lip.
"Yeah" He winked. That's how the rest of our night went. We chatted under the moonlight eating sugary strawberries.
