chapter 3

07:59, 8 January 2022

Boris and Theo talked for hours about random shit, until Hobie knocked on the door and asked them if they were hungry. Obviously, they were. Boris had barely eaten in the past 2 weeks, and Theo hadn't eaten at all today. They both quickly jumped up and followed Hobie into the kitchen. They sat at the dinner table as they waited for Hobie to finish cooking.

Theo after a minute or two, realized that Boris was staring hungrily at the food Hobie was making for them.

"Are you okay?..."

"What? Oh. Yeah why?"

"Your staring at that like you haven't eaten in weeks."

"I barely have. I've just been stealing from gas stations my entire trip here. I had brought like $5. It was shit." Boris said to Theo before gazing back to the unfinished food. Theo just looked down. He still felt guilty for leaving Boris. Obviously Boris ended up being okay it seemed, he lived with a woman he was into, even if she was 10 years older than him. He had a job, and was seemed to be doing pretty good. He remembered how hard it was while he was traveling back to New York all alone. He felt bad that he left Boris, that Boris left Xandra and his job just to see him, he just felt overall guilty.

After what seemed like forever of waiting, Hobie placed two plates of grilled cheese in front of the boys. Boris quickly picked his up and started biting into it vigorously. Hobie just chuckled.

"If you boys are thirsty, there's milk and orange juice in the fridge. Tell me if you need me." Hobie said as he walked towards the stairs.

Theo just stared at Boris with a look on his face. Boris noticed this and froze for a minute.

"What?? I'm hungry!"

"Yeahhhh...."

Boris just rolled his eyes and started eating normally for Theo. Once they were both done, Theo took both of their plates and put them in the sink.

"You have been okay, Potter?..." Boris still sometimes had some errors in his English.

"What are you talking about?"

"I don't know.. I mean what have you been doing? I feel like I've just been talking about myself all day."

"I mean.. nothing much, Boris. I don't really have much to do here anyway."

"I'm sorry. I should have come sooner. I mean't to. I just had.. things."

"I don't know why you keep apologizing Boris. I'm not mad at you."

"Still. I just want you to be happy, Potter."

Theo stared at him and blushed. He looked down and they both walked to Theo's room, not saying a word.
