BONUS CHAPTER - ON SALE

03:29, 5 August 2024

This is a bonus chapter! The idea for this chapter came from one of my fellow readers, @laddtos000 .This is intended to be a silly chapter, but I did add it to the story, taking place 25 years into the future. I hope you guys enjoy, and I encourage you all to suggest chapter ideas to me as well!

Aphmau's POV:

Time to get more cloths for Ace I guess. He's growing a lot quicker. He's almost taller than me. I decide to go to the mall with Aaron, and to go to The Children's Place. Aaron went to get something else for Alina. I'm looking around to see his favorite hoodies on the shelf, so I put them in the cart. Next I go look for shoes. As I do so, I accidentally bump into a middle-aged woman.

"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE WALKING!!" She screamed in my face.

"Sorry!" I yelped, quietly walking away. "What a jerk." I mumbled to myself. I continued to shop for some good quality shoes for Ace. I went to Sketchers and shopped for some. I found some in his style and went to the checkout.

"That'll be $86.45." The Cashier said. I pulled out my wallet to pay. As I grabbed the shoes off from the counter, I heard a familiar voice screaming at another person.

"THAT PRICE IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! YOU PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO RIP US OFF!!" The woman screamed. It was that same lady from earlier. Now I can get a better look at her.

Her hair is dirty blonde, and short too. She wore a stripped shirt with a tote bag, and she wore jeans as well. She had sunglasses on the top of her head, and she was yelled at the cashier she was checking out at. I wonder if she'll still buy whatever she was trying to get. I tried to ignore it and walked out of the store on edge. I did feel bad for not doing anything, but what was I supposed to do? I didn't know anyone there! I proceeded to shop, thinking to buy him some pants.

As I was looking around, I saw a nice desk, and it was on sale! 70% off! I had hit the best deal ever (for furniture)! I began pushing my cart in the direction of the desk. 'Maybe Ace can use this for homework, or for when he wants to play games on the computer!' I thought to myself. I heard a rustling of another cart across from me. I turned my head, and to my surprise, it was that lady again! And she was heading to the desk! I wasn't about to let her take that desk. I started pushing my cart faster.

She must've noticed, because she was pushing faster too. My speed-walk turned into a trot, and her trot turned into a run. We both dashed to the desk, but I was faster. I got to the desk first, and the woman slowed down.

"HEY! I NEED THAT DESK FOR MY DAUGHTER!! YOU CAN'T TAKE IT!!" She yelled.

"Well I need it for my son too, funny enough. I got to it first fair and square, so it's mine." I declared, swaying my tail.

"NO!! YOU CAN'T HAVE IT, I SAW IT FIRST ANYWAYS!! I NEED IT FOR MY DAUGHTER TO BE HAPPY!!" The woman shrieked. The woman was about to steal the desk for herself, but someone else got in her way.

"Is there a problem here?" Said a man, who I assumed to be working at the store, based on his uniform.

"No, I can-" I wasn't even able to get out half of my sentence before that brat of a woman interrupted me. She was starting to get on my nerves.

"Yes there is! This woman is trying to steal this desk away from me, even though I got to it first!" She complained.

"That's not true, I got here first! Then you started yapping about how you wanted to get it." I said my side of the story.

"Well, there are more of these desks in the back of the store. If you'd like, I can get one for you." The man resolved.

"Yes please, that would mean a lot." I thanked. He left us with ourselves, practically giving each other death glares. I couldn't hold mine for long. She was much more scary than me. But at least we both get our way. I'll let her take this desk, and I'll get the one the boy went to go get in the back. The woman began engaging another conversation with another employee about the desk. I could've sworn she was talking about me, because I caught her and the employee glance at me a few times, and the tone of her voice was still pretty salty.

The young man returned with another desk for me to bring to the checkout. Luckily, it was also foldable, so me and Aaron can fit it in the trunk. Speaking of Aaron, I see him while walking to the checkout. He walks up to me.

"Hey Babe. Did you get everything you need?" Aaron asked, giving me a little peck on the forehead.

"Almost. I just need some pairs of pants for Ace. I would've gotten them sooner, but I ran into some issues." I stressed.

"What happened?" He asked curiously.

"Well, I kept running into this woman, and honestly she was a pain in the neck," I said bluntly. "But long story short, we argued about getting a desk. But an employee helped us." I explained.

"Oh, I see. So she was like a Karen?" He asked.

"I guess you could say that. I really hope we don't run into her at the checkout. You go follow that guy over there with then table, and take these with you. I'm gonna go fetch those pants." I assigned Aaron, giving him the bags in my hand. He comedically saluted to me and walked like a solider to the checkout. I let out a giggle and went to the mens section. Then I looked for baggy pants, or jeans. I picked up a few I liked and was about to head to the checkout. As I walked, I heard yet another shriek of a familiar woman.

Just like I had assumed, it was the same woman, yelling at a sampler in the store. At this point I'd had enough of her shenanigans, and was going to put them to an end. I stormed up to her.

"Hey! Leave her alone, she didn't do anything wrong!" I said, defending the sampler.

"YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!! AND YES, IT WAS HER FAULT!! I TOLD HER I CAN'T HAVE PEPPERS, BUT SHE PUT THEM IN THE SAMPLE ANYWAY!!" She yelled in my face.

"Could you quiet down? Geez!" I said, covering my ears from her annoying voice.

"HOW CAN I WHEN NOBODY LISTENS TO ME?!" She yelled once more.

"It was probably just a mistake, you don't have to make such a big deal about it. And I'm sure she apologized. If anything, you're he one who's not listening." I said, already done with this. I wasn't about to let her scream in my face again, so I walked away, leaving her with no other words.

Finally, it was time to get things packed and leave. Honestly, I feel I've never been more irritated this much in one place. Me and Aaron were scanning the desk and pants at a self check-out station, when I heard even more yelling. I muttered a small growl and turned my eyes to see the same woman screaming at another person.

"THIS SELF CHECK-OUT STATION DOESN'T WORK!! WITH ALL THE MONEY THAT YOU GUYS RIP US OFF WITH, I'M PRETTY SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO FIX THIS STUPID MACHINE!!" She yelled. I let out an aggressive sigh and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Is that her?" Aaron asked.

"Yep." I said annoyed. I listened more to the conversation, if you could even call it that.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but I'm not in charge here. I don't have the power to tell anyone to fix something."

"WELL THEN LET ME SPEAK TO YOUR MANAGER!! HE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS!!" She yelled. I was done. I couldn't take it anymore.

"Hey! Could you tone it down a little bit, just this once?!" I said bluntly. She made a loud gasp and stopped over to me, to probably yell in my face again.

"HOW DARE YO SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY?! THAT IS INCREDIBLY RUDE!!" She yelled.

"Maybe you should think about how you speak to that employee over there then." I said, defending myself.

"WHY WERE YOU LISTENING TO OUR PRIVATE CONVERSATION, HMMMM??? IT'S ALSO RUDE TO EAVESDROP ON PEOPLE, Y'KNOW!!" SHE SCREAMED.

"It's hard not to when you're screaming at the top of your lungs." Aaron said for me. Then the woman did something I didn't see coming. She took one good look at Aaron and walked over to him.

"So Big Guy, ya' come here often?" The said, in a flirty tone. This definitely made me angry. Aaron looked over to me with an uncomfortable look.

"Excuse me Ma'am, that's my husband you're talking to!" I announced sternly. She looked at me with slight nervousness, but she knew better than to show it. Instead, she put a big ol' smirk on her face.

"This is your husband? I wonder how that happened. Maybe he tripped over you one day in the park, and he married you out of pity." She said. Every one. Of her words continued to burn a fire in my heart that made me grow bitter. I stomped over to her in disgust, but she did something even more enraging. She 'fell' to the floor and started whining.

"SOMEONE!! ANYONE!! HELP!! THIS WOMAN IS HURTING ME AND WON'T STOP!!" She kicked and fussed on the floor. People tarted gathering around. I started to debate the situation, but quickly came up with a solution I liked.

'well, if that's what you want.' I thought. I pounced and we began to tackle each other. Now she actually seemed alarmed. I guess she wasn't expecting this of me. We continue to tackle until we get separated. Aaron got me, while authorities got her. She looked at them, and then gave me a smirk.

"OH THANK GOODNESS! PLEASE, HELP!! THAT WEREWOLF IS TRYING TO KILL ME!!" She exaggerated. Then the Security guard that was holding her put cuffs on her.

"Ma'am, we saw the whole thing on camera. Anything you say will be used against you." The man started to take her away.

"WHAAAAAAAAT?!?!? YOU MUST BE JOKING, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!! I'M NOT THE ONE TO BLAME, SHE IS!! SHE TACKLED ME!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo." Her annoying screams were drowned out by..clapping? What's going on? Then someone else came out and walked up to me.

"Thank you so much Mrs! That woman has been terrorizing my staff for months, but we couldn't get rid of her! Thank you, thank you!" She said. I was still confused about who this guy was.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself! My name is Ms. Trail, I'm the manager here." He said. Well, I guess that answers my question.

"Aphmau." I responded. "Someone needed to teach her a lesson anyways." I stated.

"But you still could've gotten in serious trouble! You were very brave to do something like that in public (or very dense in the head)."

"What was that last part?" I asked, curious.

"N-Nothing! Well, I wanted to give you a gift of gratitude. A gift card of $300 for any store in this place. I hope you use it well! Have a nice day." The woman, Ms. Trail, up and vanished. No, literally. She just disappeared. I guess she must be a warlock. Well, all that irritation paid off in the end, quite literally, too. I'm just glad we finally get to go home.
